Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop — Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree

Welcome! It that time, the 2nd Tuesday of the month  you have been waiting for with excitement, a fun team blog hop from Amy’s Inkin’ Krew.   The theme for this month is “Celebrate”. You are in for a treat seeing all the talent these ladies present to you. Sit back with your favorite beverage and enjoy.  You will see cards that will  inspire you to get creative as you jump from blog to blog.

My card today is created using Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set, Stampin’ Up! St Nicholas stamp set, and One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper.

This is a diagonal fold card.  The card base is Pool Party card stock with the diagonal piece that is cut off embossed and adhered to the diagonal fold of the card front.  A little card of Real Red card stock is cut and adhered to the diagonal fold of the card.

A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set is stamped in Pecan Pie ink on a piece of One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Paper.  The piece is trimmed to fit the Real Red card.  Three Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels are popped around the front of the Real Red card.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! St Nicholas stamp set is stamped in Pecan Pie ink on a different pattern of One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper.  It is adhered to the inside of the Real Red card stock card.

Open the card on up and you will see another piece of One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper on the back side of the Real Red card stock card and a panel on the right side of the main card with a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set stamped in Pecan Pie ink.  It is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of the One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper a different pattern for the envelope flap.  Cut the piece for the envelope 2-1/4″ x 6″, adhere using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, now that you’ve seen my card, I hope you’ll take a little time to jump thru all the other projects we have to share.

If you love card making as a hobby, you can still be a demonstrator and get that discount to help get more card making items,  or you can be like I was and buy Stampin’ Up! products for 10 years before I became wise enough to become a demonstrator to get the discount.  When I think of all the stamping products that 20% would have brought over those 10 years, I cringe.

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

Stampin’ Up! One Horse Open Sleigh for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop.

Welcome! It that time, the 2nd Tuesday of the month  you have been waiting for with excitement, a fun team blog hop from Amy’s Inkin’ Krew.   The theme for this month is “Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays”. You are in for a treat seeing all the talent these ladies present to you. Sit back with your favorite beverage and enjoy.  You will see cards that will  inspire you to get creative as you jump from blog to blog.

The card I am sharing today is a Slider card, I think that is what it is called.  Most I have seen are done portrait but as the horse and sleigh are too long for a portrait card, I did mine landscape.  Before I had followed Dawn Griffith’s cuts and scores but with this being landscape, I had to figure out the measurements. Then I thought maybe there is someone on YouTube who has done this card landscape, after searching for a long time, I found one by Maria Vargas. You ‘ve realized by now that I am using Stampin’ Up! Horse & Sleigh stamp set and Dies, plus One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper.  The greeting is from Stampin’ Up! Saint Nicholas stamp set, stamped in Pebble Path ink.  The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree and is also stamped in Pebble Path ink.

The card base is two pieces of Boho Blue card stock cut 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. One is for the card front the other for the card back.  Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″.  You will want to adhere the Designer Series Paper to the card front before cutting.  Use lots of adhesives because you will be cutting through two layers and you want the edges to be adhered once you cut.

Come over to 1-3/8″ from left edge of card and 3/4″ from top edge. Score from 3/4″ to 3-1/4″. Score the flap at 1-1/4″ and fold into a mountain fold.  This is where you will adhere the horse and sleigh  On both sides of the score line come over to 1-3/8″ and cut from the 3/4″ score line down to the 3-1/4″ score line .  Remember you are cutting through two layers, Designer Series Paper and card stock.  Once you have cut the two slits, go to the bottom of the slits and cut across from one slit to the other.

Cut a piece of Basic White card stock is 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.  This is your flap.  Stamp sentiment and art work if you want art work on this piece before you adhere to the card.  It would be good here if you watched Dawn Griffith’s video to see exactly how to adhere the slider. Slide over to the 8.31 minutes that is where she shows how to adhere the mechanism. She can explain the slider mechanism very well and how to adhere.  You will also need to cut a piece of Basic White card stock 3-1/2″ x 4″ for the mechanism.

This is a side view of the card.  After adhering the mechanism, you will need to adhere the back of the card.  This covers the mechanism.    You can see in the photo above that you need to punch a half circle for a finger hold on the card.  Dawn’s covers this also.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of the Designer Series Paper a different pattern for the envelope flap.  Cut the piece for the envelope 2-1/4″ x 6″, adhere using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree

Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set and Aspen Dies.  This is a CAS of Linda Heller.

The card base is Basic White card stock cut 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ and die cut on the front using a die from Aspen Dies.

A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set is stamped in Misty Moonlight on a piece of Basic White card stock, die cut using a circle die from Stylish Shapes Dies and popped on the upper corner of the card front.  A length of Linen Thread is looped behind the greeting.  Neutral Adhesive Backed Sequins are popped around the card front.  Wink of Stella is flicked all over the card front.

A panel of One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper (the one with the cute little deer)  is cut 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ scored 1/4″ at the top. Fold and burnished well on the score line, add Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the 1/4″ score part and adhere the piece at the top of the inside. Adhere so the next piece will cover the small piece adhered with glue. Flick Wink all over the piece and brush it on the snow and the snow on the trees.

Cut another piece of One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper the same size as above.  This time I chose the piece that has the little fox.  Stamp in Misty Moonlight ink a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! One Horse Open Sleigh stamp set.  Flick Wink of Stella all over the piece.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper applied to the envelope flap using  Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I am entering Try it on Tuesday Challenge.  Their theme for this challenge is Sparkle All The Way and I believe as I put Wink of Stella on my card to make it sparkly it qualifies.

My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself. Feel free to CAS(E) any card. Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me. Stampin’ Up! Country Wreaths — Christmas Card

Stampin’ Up! Country Wreaths — Christmas Card

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Country Wreath Dies.  These dies coordinate with the Country Wreath stamp set.  This set is a carry over from 2022, but no longer a bundle.  The stamp set and dies are sold as an individual item.  I also, used Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree and Regal Reindeer stamp sets for the greeting and sentiment.

I am entering The Holly and Ivy Christmas Challenge, as my card is Christmas.

I am also entering Addicted to Stamps and More.  Their theme for this challenge is Die Cuts and Stencils.

Start with a Shaded Spruce card stock card base. Add a layer of Distressed Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper. As only a border is needed for the layer that will be added.  Use a die to cut the center of the panel leaving a 3/4″ around the panel to adhered the next lay.

The next layer is created using the Stack, Cut, Shuffle method.  A piece of Basic White card stock is cut the size needed for the next layer to adhere the Stack, Cut, Shuffle pieces to, this gives them more stability.  Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper and Joyful Specialty Designer Series Paper are used  as the paper for the Stack, Cut, Shuffle.  The other pieces will be used to create other cards.  A wreath is die cut from Distressed Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper and Old Olive card stock.  The two wreaths are adhered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then popped on the card front using Mini Stampin’ Dimensional cut in half so they fit the wreath.  Holiday Rhinestones are added around the wreath and a bow made from Linen Thread is added to the wreath using Mini Glue Dot to adhere.

Sentiments from Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set and Stampin’ Up! Regal Reindeer stamp set are stamped in Memento Black ink on a Basic White card stock panel.  The trimming from the envelope flap is adhered around the corners of the panel.  The panel is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A Basic White envelope flap gets a piece of Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper applied to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. Stampin’ Up! Regal Reindeer Christmas Card

Stampin’ Up! Regal Reindeer Christmas Card

I made this card about a year ago and had CASed it from Mary Deatherage.    It is a tent fold with a bridge.  Mary shows every well in her video how to create the bridge.  I am using Stampin’ Up! Regal Reindeer stamp set and Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set to create the card.  I, also, used dies from Forever Forest Die and One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Paper for the background piece.

This is a tip that Mary also gave on one of her video.  She was showing us how to make sure our greeting and sentiment are straight. She said use a piece of the acetate that comes in a photopolymer stamp set. Place it over your card, making sure it is straight also.  Stamp your image over the piece of acetate. You will be able to see if your greeting or sentiment is straight.  I thought well if it work for that it should work to make sure you have your image in the correct position to mask.

Remove the acetate piece and place a post it note over the area that needs masking.  When the mask is removed it will appear the reindeer is coming from behind the tree.  You can then proceed to color the reindeer.

Color the reindeer using Watercolor Pencils.  I used Crushed Curry, Early Espresso, Real Red, and Gorgeous Grape.  I used a Blender Pen to smooth out the color.  Two trees are die cut from Mossy Meadow card stock and Old Olive card stock.  The two trees are popped on the card front adhering Multipurpose Liquid Glue down the middle of the tree trunk.  A piece of ice and snow are fussy cut from another panel of One Horse Open Sleigh 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper and popped over the bottom of the trees using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Regal Reindeer stamp set is stamped in Versa Mark ink, sprinkled with Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  The greeting is die cut using a die from All That Dies.  Loops of Linen Thread are looped around the area the greeting will be popped over using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Sequins from Neutral Adhesive Backed Sequins are popped around the card front.  Adhere the focal piece to the Real Red and Early Espresso card stock mats using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

.This is the back of the card where the sentiment goes as this is a tent card with a bridge.  A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set and Regal Reindeer stamp set is stamped in Versa Mark, sprinkled with Shimmer White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat embossed.  The remaining portion of the focal panel from the card front is adhered down the side of the Real Red panel.  Three trees from Forever Forest Dies are die cut from Mossy Meadow and Old Olive card stock and adhered to the piece.  Three sequins are popped on the panel.

Trees are stenciled on the Basic White envelope flap using Mossy Meadow ink and a die cut from the die in the photo.

I am entering the Allsorts Challenge for this card.  Their theme is always Anything Goes, sometimes with a twist.  The twist for this challenge is our 4-legged friends.  My reindeer has four legs but only two are showing as he is coming from behind a tree.

I am also entering Moving Along With The Times Challenge.  Their theme for this Challenge is Christmas.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day.
