Stampin’ Up! 2022 in Review and Happy 2023

Stampin’ Up! 2022 in Review and Happy 2023

Happy New Year everyone!  Maybe 2023 will be a better year than the one we are leaving behind.  I suppose it was good tho’, we had a place to live, food, family, and friends to give us comfort when we were low.

I stole this idea from Debbie Mageed, I think her idea is a great one, to review the favorites that you have posted the past year.  I may just have to make this a year-end tradition.  They are in no particular date order, if you click the picture it will take you to the corresponding blog.

This is my #1 pin on Pinterest for 2022.

June 20, 2022  Garden Birdhouses.  A fun fold.

January 25, 2022 Calming Camellia

February 26, 2022 Blessings of Home

March 11, 2022 Sailing Home Bridge card with no bridge.

April 28, 2022 Quiet Meadow

May 6, 2022 Shaded Summer Z Fold

June 26, 2022 Paradise Palms Triple Fold.

July 2, 2022  Cottage Rose  Easel card.

July 29, 2022 Trees For Sale  Slimline Easel card.

August 18, 2022 Fonds of Autumn

September 2, 2022.  This is a fun fold but don’t know the name.  It is a Paper Pumpkin Alternative.

September 29, 2022 Pretty Birds.  This is a Z-fold card.

September 13, 2022  This is an easel card, one of my favorite.

October 5, 2022  This is an easel card.  I like these types of cards, they are easy to display as they create a stand up card.

November 29, 2022  I call this card a bridge tent as it has a bridge that connects the front to the back.  The sentiment goes on the back. This card displays well because it stands with ease.

December 26, 2022 Perched In A Tree Easel Fold.

December 29, 2022  Perched In A Tree.

Stampin’ Up! Joyful Flurry with Charming Sentiments Perched In A Tree

Stampin’ Up! Joyful Flurry with Charming Sentiments Perched In A Tree

I am entering the Can You Handle The Pressure? Challenge with the Option of Snow.

I am also entering the Global Design Project.  I turned my card portrait instead of landscape.

Also, I  am entering Tuesday Morning Sketches Annual Anything Goes Challenge.

I will say I CASed Karen Ksenzakovic’s card from September 29.  It must have stuck in my memory for I was sure surprised yesterday when I opened her Christmas card and it was almost the same card.  Karen, I must have loved it so that I kept it stored away, thanks. Wanting to give her credit, I looked and looked through her blog thinking, I could find it and it finally dawned on me to put it in search on her blog. Karen’s is the one on the right.

I started with a piece of Soft Succulent card stock, embossing a piece of the same using one of the embossing folders from Wintry 3D Embossing Folders.  I also embossed a piece of Vellum using the same embossing folder.  I cropped a snowflake from the Frosted Flurry Dies from a scrap of Basic White card stock.

I stamped the bird from Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set in Memento Black ink and colored it using Crumb Cake, Soft Succulent, So Saffron, and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers.  The branch is colored using a Dark Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Marker.  I cropped leaves from Copper Foil and from Gold Foil from the Gold & Rose 6′ x 6″ Metallic Speciality Paper.  A snowflake is cropped using a die from the Frosted Flurry Dies.  A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Joyful Flurry stamp set is stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock and cropped using a die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies. All the layers and elements are arranged and adhered to the card base using either Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Stampin’ Dimensionals. Brushed Metallic Adhesive Backed Dots are popped around the card front.

On a panel of Basic White card stock, I stamped snowflakes from Stampin’ Up! Joyful Flurry stamp set in Soft Succulent ink in corners of the panel.  I stamped sentiments from Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments stamp set in Soft Succulent ink also, the panel is then adhered to the card base.  Two Brushed Metallic Adhesive Back Dots are popped in the center of the snowflakes.

I suppose you can call this a Fun Fold as it has a bridge for having it stand up easier.  Or maybe it can be called a card with an inside bridge. To create the bridge cut a piece of Soft Succulent card stock 3-1/4″ x 4″, score 3/8″ on each 4″ side then score at 1-5/8″, this will be the middle of the card.  I adhered the 3/8″ side to the bottom of the card using Tear & Tape.

A Basic White medium envelopes get a panel of Texture Chic Designer Series Paper added to the envelope flap.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. Stampin’ Up! Perched in A Tree

Stampin’ Up! Perched in A Tree

The card I am creating today is created using a mixture of stamp sets, Stampin’ Up! Perched in A Tree, Stampin’ Up! Framed Florets, Stampin’ Up! By My Side, and Stampin’ Up! Graceful Tiles.

I am entering the Creatalicious Challenges Anything & Everything with Paper.

I am also entering the Creative Creases Challenge as my card is a Fun Fold.

The card base is Basic White card stock cut 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″.  The front fold is a piece of Basic White card stock cut 4-1/” x 4-1/4″ scored at 1/4″ and 2-1/4″.  This is a CAS of Jo Blackman’s card and you can watch her video on YouTube for better instructions than I can give. I stamped the bird from Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree in Memento ink, then colored using Watercolor Pencils.  I cropped the bird using a die from Aspen Tree Dies.  I fussy cut leaves and berries from a piece of Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper and adhered under the bird using Glue Dots.

This is the way the card looks from the side.  I put a strip of Dimensionals behind where the main easel comes forward.

I stamped the flower sway from Stampin’ Up! Frames Florets stamp set in Memento ink and colored using Watercolor Pencils and Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I stamped a greeting from Stampin’ Up! By My Side stamp set on a scrap of Basic White card stock and cropped using a die from Stylish Shapes Dies.  It is matted on a piece of Balmy Blue card stock.

On the back of the first fold, I stamped another greeting from Stampin’ Up! Framed Florets stamp set in Memento Black ink.  For the back panel of the card, I stamped two sentiments from Stampin’ Up! Graceful Tiles stamp set in Memento Black ink.  I adhered the sway of flowers over the sentiment.

I made no envelope as I am mailing this card in a card box to prevent damage.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. Stampin’ Up! Framed Florets By My Side with Cottage Rose

Stampin’ Up! Framed Florets By My Side with Cottage Rose

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! By My Side stamp set, Cottage Rose stamp set, Framed Florets Dies, and Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper.  My cards are a CAS of one Mary Deatherage created several weeks ago.  You can find a tutorial and a short video showing how this card is made.  She made hers to be a holder for a Sticky Note pad.  I could never get it to work with the sticky notepads after several tries, so mine became cards instead.

Cut a piece of Soft Succulent card stock 3-1/4″ x 8-1/2″ scoring at 4-1/4″ & 6-3/8″.  The score lines are folded in the same direction so as to create the easel.  Cut mats and Designer Series Paper 1/8″ smaller for both.  You can see this in the picture above.  I used Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper, but you can use whatever Designer Series Paper you wish.

I cropped an oval from a piece of Basic White card stock using one of the oval dies from the Framed Florets Dies.  I fussy cut flowers from a panel of the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper.  I cropped a sprig from Soft Succulent card stock and leaves from Basic White card stock and from Gold Glimmer paper.  I cut a piece of Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper matting it on a panel of Melon Mambo card stock.  I then adhered to the fold of the easel using Tear & Tape.

The flowers, leaves, and sprig are arranged around the oval and adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Polished Pink Dots are scattered around the card front.  I used Wink of Stella on the flowers, though it does show up in the photos.  A greeting from Stampin’ Up! By My Side stamp set is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink on a Basic White card stock scrap, trimmed and adhered to the card front inside the oval.

This is a picture of the three cards I made using different patterns of Designer Series Paper from the Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper.  It shows the sentiment that also serves as the stop for the easel.  The sentiment is stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock in Memento Black ink, fussy cut then matted on a piece of Melon Mambo card stock.  Stampin’ Dimensionals are added to the back and the piece is placed on the inside of the card to create the stop for the easel.

Basic White medium envelope gets a panel of Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper adhered to the flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Framed Florets Birthday Wishes

Stampin’ Up! Framed Florets Birthday Wishes

The card I am sharing today is created using Framed Florets stamp set, Framed Florets Dies, and Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper.

I am inspired by the sketch of the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge so I am entering,

My card base is Basic White card stock.  I cut two pieces of Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper adhering to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I cut a strip of Balmy Blue card stock and adhered down the middle of the two different patterns of Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper.  I cropped an oval in Basic White card stock using a die from Framed Florets Dies. I cropped another one using Balmy Blue card stock.  The two are adhered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Framed Florets stamp set is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink on the oval that is cut out when using the dies.  It is then adhered back to the Balmy Blue and Basic White ovals and popped over the Balmy Blue strip and Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper. I just realized I left the bling off of the card. Oh! Well!

A panel of Basic White card stock is adhered to a panel of Balmy Blue card stock as the mat, then a fussy cut flower from Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper is adhered to the bottom of the panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue

Basic White medium envelope gets a panel of Fitting Florets Designer Series Paper adhered to the flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
