Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Peace Love Joy Card

Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Peace Love Joy Card

The card I am sharing today uses a greeting from the Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set and a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set.

I have two challenges for the day.

I am Inspired By… — Holiday/Winter Beauty.

The Inkspirational Designers Choice Challenge — theme is plaid.

I was using Trim The Tree DSP an old retire pack of DSP to cut panels of card stock to go over my cards when I mail and this plaid DSP was in it, I just had to use it, it is such a beautiful plaid. Back in the Day, Stampin’ Up! had 4-12″ x 6-1/2″ packs of DSP.  The DSP was put together like a tablet and you ripped out a page of the DSP to use.  In the new January – June 2022 Mini Catalog there is be a pack of DSP that is 4″ x 6″.

I started with a Cherry Cobbler card stock card base, layered a panel of Basic White that is embossed using a die from the Stitched Whimsy Dies, this panel also becomes the mat for the Trim The Tree DSP.  A square of Peaceful Place DSP is trimmed and embossed using a Stitched Whimsy Dies again, just a different size.  It is matted on Cherry Cobbler card stock.  A length of black and white ribbon and Silver Thread is placed behind this focal piece and adhered to the plaid using Mini Stampin Dimensionals.   A greeting from the Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set is stamped in Memento Black ink on a scrap of Basic White, fussy cut, and popped on the corner of the card.

A sentiment and trees from the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set is stamped in Smoky Slate ink.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of Trim The Tree DSP (long retired) applied to the envelope flap using liquid glue.

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Cabin Peace Love Joy Card

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Cabin Peace Love Joy Card

The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set and the Cabin Dies.  This is a CAS(E) of Mary Deatherage’s card.

One of my challenges for today is the Fusion Card Challenge.

Another of my challenges is the Card Concept Challenge.  For my clean and layered card, I was inspired by the theme of Peace on Earth, the gray color of the Peace sign, as well as the red, green, and gold colors.

My card starts with a card base of Basic White card stock.  Next, I cut a panel of Real Red card stock to become the mat for the Peaceful Place DSP.

I cut one long and 2 short pieces of the Peaceful Place DSP. What I really did was cut two long pieces the same width and cut one of the pieces into two pieces the desired length.  All three of these were adhered to the Real Red card stock mat using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Trees were cropped from Garden Green card stock using dies from the Cabin Dies.  The cabin is cropped from a panel of Basic White card stock and colored using a Smoky Slate Stampin’ Blends Marker, Real Red card stock is added to the cabin to give highlights.  A scrap of Basic White is colored using a So Saffron Stampin’ Blends Marker and adhered to the back to give the illusion of a light in the cabin.  A scrap of Soft Suede card stock is adhered to the roof to give the illusion of snow melting and a fence is cropped from a scrap of the Soft Suede card stock.  Wink of Stella is added to the roof and around the house for snow effect.

Now that all the elements have been cropped, colored, and cut it is time to assemble the card. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue adhere the Real Red card stock panel with the Peaceful Place Specialty DSP to the Basic White card stock base.  Arrange all the other elements and start gluing or popping with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp the greeting in Real Red ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock, fussy cut, and pop on the card front.

A sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set is stamped in Smoky Slate ink on a Basic White card stock panel.  Two trees from the set are also stamped in Smoky Slate ink in the lower right corner.  The panel is then adhered to a Real Red card stock mat and adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of Peaceful Place DSP applied to the envelope flap using liquid glue.

Stampin’ Up! Merry Moments Thinking of You

Stampin’ Up! Merry Moments Thinking of You

The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up! Merry Moments Stamp Set, along with the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder, includes the dies also.  If this is a set you are thinking of purchasing, go ahead it will be on the Retired List and could be sold out soon, but will return next year but not as a bundle.  So far now it is a great price for the three items.

The Sunday Stamps Challenge is the inspiration for card colors.  My colors are Real Red, Soft Succulent, and Evening Evergreen.

Another challenge I am joining is Addicted Stamps and More — Any Occasion.

Start with  Evening Evergreen card stock base, add a panel of the same embossed using the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder.  Using a sponge, sponge silver ink on the embossed spots.  It highlights the embossing.

I started by embossing a panel of Basic White card stock using the folder.  The picture shows two ways of doing this.  You can emboss a panel of card stock and do no cropping or you can crop using the dies enclosed in the embossing folder.  I did the second one for this card as you will see as we go on.  Two small poinsettias are cropped from Real Red card stock and will be adhered to the corners of the Tidings of Christmas DSP embossed panel.

This is a sample from another card I made,  You can see that card here.  I started by embossing a panel of Basic White card stock using the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder.  The picture shows two ways of doing this.  You can emboss a panel of card stock and do no cropping or you can crop using the dies enclosed in the embossing folder.  I did the second one for this card as you will see as we go on.  I also did a panel in Real Red card stock.  You can see the Real Red behind the Tidings of Christmas DSP.

You can see how the die is placed around the embossed piece if you forget to enclose it in the embossing folder before you emboss it.  The piece on the right side is cropped using the more intricate die.

This is the die that crops the more intricate piece.  The label die can be used to cut the label out of the center as you crop the other piece.  You can see in the photo that a Real Red card stock one is cropped along with the Tidings of Christmas DSP one.  The Tidings of Christmas DSP is layered over the Real Red so that the Red will show.  On the label piece, a greeting from the Stampin’ Up! Merriest Moments Stamp Set is stamped in Evening Evergreen ink.

After all the cropping and embossing is finished the pieces are then adhered to a panel of Evening Evergreen card stock that has also been embossed using the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder, it has not been cropped so you can see the snowflakes around the edges that have been highlighted using Silver ink.

A panel of Basic White card stock is stamped with a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Merriest Moments Stamp Set using Evening Evergreen ink.  Holly leaves are stamped in Soft Succulent ink and the holly berries are stamped in Real Red ink.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of Tidings of Christmas DSP applied to the envelope flap using liquid glue.

Stampin’ Up! Angels of Peace Card

Stampin’ Up! Angels of Peace Card

The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up! Angels of Peace Stamp Set, along with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder.

I am joining the TGIF Challenge even though I did not use pastels, do not have them, but made my own pastels using ink and a water painter.

For cutting and scoring instructions, you can go to Lisa Curcio’s diagram.  She shows a great diagram of the scoring & cutting.

  1. Start with a card base of Basic White card stock, cut at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2.
  2. Line up the top of the cardstock on the 5-1/2″ side at the 2-3/4″ mark.
  3. Cut from 1-1/4″ to 6- 1/8″ using the ruler on the bar on the trimmer.
  4. Turn the cardstock and score at 1-1/4″, 2″ 3-1/8″,  4-1/4″ all the way across the card stock, and, 6-1/8″ cut all to the cut line except the 4-1/4″

This is how the card looks once it has been cut and scored.

For the background of the large angel, I cup a piece of Whimsy & Wonder DSP 2-3/4″ x 2-1/2″ and a piece the same size from a panel of Basic White that I had embossed using the Merry Melody 3-D Embossing Folder.  I had given the panel a color wash using Polished Pink ink and a Water Painter.  The gold trim is the leftover from cropping other images.  Makes for a nice trim.

The background pieces for the small angels are again Whimsy & Wonder DSP cut at 1-3/4″ x 2-1/2″.  Trees are punched from Basic White card stock using the Evergreen  Border Punch and adhered beside the small angels.

The angels are created using images from the Stampin’ Up! Angels of Peace Stamp Set.  They are stamped on Basic White card stock with Versa Mark ink and Gold Embossing Powder sprinkled over the stamping and heat set using a heat tool.  The large angel and one of the small ones are then colored using a color wash made from Polished Pink ink and a water painter. The second small angel is colored using a color wash of  Misty Moonlight ink and a Water Painter.  They are popped on the card front using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A greeting from Stampin’ Up! For Unto Us Stamp Set is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock and fussy cut and popped on the card front.

The sentiment panel is matted on a panel of Misty Moonlight card stock and a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! For Unto Us Stamp Set is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink on the Basic White panel.  An angel is adhered to the bottom of the panel.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of Whimsy & Wonder DSP applied to the envelope flap using liquid glue.
