Thank you for letting me pop into your inbox several times a week during 2018. It has been such a blessing to be able to share my cards with you. I hope that you will continue that blessing for me during 2019.

Tomorrow will be 2019.  Have you made all your resolutions?

The card today is a combination of  Flourishing Phrases, Petals and More Thinlits and Petal Promenade DSP.

The sketch for this card is from Fab Fri 153  Challenge.

Dandelion Wishes Loves Botanical Butterfly

Dandelion Wishes Loves Botanical Butterfly

My card today is a sympathy card and the stamp set is Dandelion Wishes.  Even after a loved one is gone, the love they leave behind blows around us like the wind blowing the dandelions no matter the length of time.

My inspiration for the card sketch layout is from CAS(E) This Sketch.

This card is really easy to make but it may look otherwise with all the steps listed. Here are the steps for creating this card:

  1. Whisper White card stock – card base- 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
  2. Basic Black card stock – mat for Lemon Lime Green Botanical Butterfly DSP – 4-1/8″ x 5-1/8″

  5. Adhere to Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue.
  6. Basic Black card stock – Cut two panels 1-5/8″ x 4″. Mats for butterfly panels.
  7. Botanical Butterfly DSP – Cut two panels 1-1 2” x 3-7/8″. Adhere to Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue.
  8. Adhere these 2 panels to the Lemon Lime Green card front.
  9. Basic Black panel – mat for greeting – cut 1″ x 3-1/8″.
  10. Whisper White panel – greeting panel – cut 7/8″ x 3″
  11. Using Memento Black Ink stamp on a Whisper White panel with stamp from Better Together stamp set. Also, stamp the dandelions blowing from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set.
  12. Adhere this greeting panel to the Basic Black mat panel using Liquid Glue.
  13. Pop the greeting panel over the two butterfly panels on the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  14. Adhere a green heart to the left lower corner of the card front.
  15. Basic Black card stock – cut a panel 4″ x 5-1/4″ mat for sentiment panel.
  16. Whisper White card stock – cut a panel 3-3/4″ x 5″.
  17. Using Memento Black Ink stamp the sentiment using a stamp from the August 2018 Paper Pumpkin stamp set.
  18. Using Lemon Lime ink stamp the dandelions from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set on the sentiment panel.
  19. Adhere the sentiment panel to the Basic Black card stock panel using Liquid Glue.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas

Look what I found under my Christmas tree!

Christmas was yesterday at our house, someone got tired and decided to take a nap.

Merry Christmas to all and a Blessed New Year!

Butterfly Gala and Climbing Roses

Butterfly Gala and Climbing Roses

Is there a rush on at your home with Christmas being tomorrow ?  I was at the grocery store yesterday and kept hearing comments of how tired I am.  People rush and hurry getting everything to perfection or so they think, only to end up so tired they can not enjoy the day when it arrives.  Even when I was a little girl, I can remember my grandmother and aunt hurrying about sewing dresses,  crocheting scarves and most of all baking.  I can remember my grandmother and aunt baking at least 20 cakes each, and to think they were all eaten during the Christmas festivities.  People were always dropping in to visit and it was cake and coffee for everyone.  Can you imagine baking 20 cakes in just a few days before Christmas.  I can remember they were always moist and delicious.  Another aunt, made a chocolate cake with black walnuts that is the most delicious cake you will ever eat.  I think it must have been a tradition in the community to see who could bake the most cakes so they could tell it on Sunday at church.

Well, I truly hope everyone is ready and relax a bit on Christmas Eve.  Christmas at our house is today as my daughter-in-law is a nurse and it is her year to work on Christmas Day.  Wonder how many Christmas babies she will have.

I am playing along at Try Stampin On Tuesday Challenge 388.

Incredible Like You

Incredible Like You

Welcome!

Three days until Christmas! Are you all ready!  This person hasn’t bought the first gift!  Haven’t had the time.  Is that a good excuse?  Enough of that on to the card for today.  I am  using Incredible Like You (available January 3, which isn’t too long), Butterfly Gala (also available January 3) and  Bunches of Blossoms from the Annual catalog.

I am playing along at Watercooler Wednesday “Anything Goes“.

The card is started with a Pear Pizzazz card base, then a Whisper White mat that has been embossed using the Pinewood Plank embossing folder, then adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A  panel of Basic Black card stock is cut for the mat to the art piece.  The art piece is stamped using Lovely Lipstick and Pear Pizzazz ink.  The flowers are a two step process and  from the stamp set Incredible Like You (available January 3), This technique is something I have never tried before.  It took me practice and three tries before I finally was able to think this piece was acceptable.  As always practice makes perfect, so I must try it again to see  the results.  You stamp the darkest color first or that is the way I did it and then you stamp the lightest color, stamping off once to make the color lighter.  The color is Lovely Lipstick, but to me it looks more like Cherry Cobbler.  The art piece is now adhered to the Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue and a length of Pear Pizzazz 3/8″ ribbon is wrapped around the art piece.  This is now adhered to the embossed panel using Liquid Glue. The greeting is stamped in Lovely Lipstick on a scrap of Whisper White, then cropped using the Layering Oval Framelits Dies. It is popped over the ribbon in the lower right corner of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A tiny butterfly is cut using one of the butterflies from the Butterfly Gala stamp set (available January  3). A pearl from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearl pack is glued to the butterfly. A Glue Dot is used to adhere to the card front.  Three pearls from the same pack are adhered to the upper right corner.

The inside sentiment is a big Happy Birthday stamped in Lovely Lipstick on a panel of Whisper White.

You can find the products used in creating this card along with the card cuts at the end of this post.  Thank you for stopping by, my wish as usual is for you to find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.
