This is a bright and shiny card for today.

I’m play at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge. It is WWC198 – Gail’s “All About Holidays” Challenge. It looks like it will be fun.

and the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge #178 Pretty Punches For Stamp, Ink, Paper’s one hundred and seventy eighth challenge we are asked to dig out some punches! We can also use dies if that’s all we have. I had to use dies.

My card is featuring the Dashing Deer stamp bundle and the Joyous Noel DSP. They go well together. My card started with a base of Tranquil Tide. I used panels from a Copper Foil Sheet to cut the mats for all the Joyous Noel DSP panels. The Dashing Deer is also cut from a panel of the Copper Foil as is the mat for the greeting “Joy” which has been stamped in Versa Mark and heat embossed using Copper Embossing Powder. Before I finally cut the deer from the Copper Foil, I tried several different colors for the deer and even considered cutting and embossing it with the Copper Embossing Powder, then realized “Hey I have the Copper Foil paper, I don’t need to emboss.”

The inside sentiment is stamped in Versa Mark then heat embossed using Copper Embossing Powder. The two deer used to embellish the sentiment panel are also heat embossed with the Copper Embossing Powder.

Pretty Kitty and Friends

This is a tale of two, a Kitty and a Puppy. They were playing and Kitty got into the knitting basket and became tangle up in the thread. Puppy tried to help after Kitty pounched on him, but all he could do was sit and look at her situation because the thread was tangled around him also. Kitty’s situation is much like life, we get ourselves all tangled up into something and have no idea how to get out of it.

Today’s card is from Stampin’ Up’s! Pretty Kitty and Bella and Friends stamp sets. Inspiration and design comes from a combination of Fusion Stamps and Double “D” Challenges -Snuggle Up Buttercup. Both seem similar enough to me that both challenges can be joined.

Both challenges have cable knit throws and red, so I chose to emboss at panel with the Cable Kit Embossing Folder and make a blanket for them to sit on out of a scrap from the Festive Farmhouse DSP. I tore the DSP around the edges to give it a ragged blanket look.

Kitty was stamped then masked so Puppy could be stamped sitting beside her. They are then colored with watercolor pencils and popped on their blanket with Stampin Dimensionals. An extra ball of yarn was stamped and colored with the Real Red watercolor pencils. It was popped on the Mixed Real Red Satin Ribbon as is the “Life is Messy” greeting.Gold Metallic Thread is wound all through the art piece to give it the look of having thread tangled all over both Kitty and Puppy.

The inside sentiment is stamped on a panel of Whisper White using Memento Black Ink. It is adhered to the Real Red mat using Multipurpose Glue.

Joyous Noel and Christmas Blessings

Well, Thanksgiving and Black Friday are history for 2018. My hope is that you made wonderful history for your Thanksgiving that will leave lasting fun memories. About Black Friday, I can’t say. I did not venture out. I can remember the days when I was one of those crazies that would stay all night in Walmart. Walmart sometimes surprised us and gave away gifts, but those days are long gone. Now I avoid Walmart on a normal day if possible. Sometimes though it is necessary to go, so I do what our former governor, Zell Miller said, “Bite the bullet and get it done.”

The card for today is real simple. A few paper cuts and two stamping and you have a card.

The design comes from the As You See It Challenge #189 for his week.

The base is Smokey Slate card stock cut 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2″
The first mat is Tranquil Tide which is cut 5-1/4″ x 4″
The second mat is Joyous Noel DSP cut 5″ x 3-3/4″
These are adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue
The third mat is a panel of Tranquil Tide also and is cut 4-1/8″ x 2-7/8″
This is popped on the Joyous Noel, second mat, using Stamping Dimensionals after the art piece with the deer is adhered.
The panel of deer from the Joyous Noel DSP is cut 4″ x 2-5/8″ and then cut into 1″ strip and adhered to the Tranquil Tide mat.
The mat for the greeting is cut using Label Framelits. It is cut from Tranquil Tide and the piece the sentiment is stamped on is Whisper White.
The sentiment is popped on with Stampin Dimensionals.
The ribbon is Stampin’ Up! 1/8″ gold ribbon.

The greeting which is usually on the front is on the inside for this card. It is stamped in Tranquil Tide ink on a panel of Whisper White that is matted on a panel of Tranquil Tide. The leaf motif is from the Christmas Pines stamp set as is the greeting.

Rooted In Nature

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Hope your Thanksgiving is grand and the food is delicious. As you gather around the table with family and friends, remember our military that is in a far off land and would love to be gathering with their family and friends, but they are off protecting our freedom. As the saying goes ” Freedom is not free!” Give thanks to them and say a prayer for their protection. Are you planning on Black Friday shopping? I wish you blessings as you fight the crowds!

This is a Stamp set I received when attending OnStage Atlanta, but have never used before. It has some wonderful leave images as well as dies. I didn’t realize that two of the leave dies are really embossing dies. Found it out when I tried cutting leaves with them, so I ended up using the one to emboss a portion of my art piece. I like the way the card turned out. It is a simple and easy card that makes a great birthday card.

My design comes from Sunday Stamps. Fun layout.

The base is Whisper White card stock as is the mat. The three strips that make up the mat for the art piece are Nature’s Poem DSP and Tranquil Textures DSP. Each strip is 1-1/4″ and adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. After they were glued to the Whisper White mat, the mat was popped onto the card base using Stampin Dimensionals. The leaves for the art piece were stamped in Crushed Curry, Blackberry Bliss, and Crumb cake, then cut out using the Nature’s Root Framelits Dies. They were glued to the art piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Two Share What You Love Artisan Pearls were adhered to the upper left corner of the art piece. The art piece is then popped on using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting is from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set stamped in Blackberry Bliss on a scrap of Whisper White card stock and die cut using one of the dies from the Petals and More Thinlits. Two labels were cut from a scrap of Tranquil Tide card stock to use for the mat for the greeting. A Blackberry Faceted Dot was used to embellish the corner of the greeting label.

Humming Along and Sharing What You Love

Welcome! I hope you like my pretty little card.

I decided to play along with the Tuesday Morning Sketches for this card.

The card base is Tranquil Tide, cut 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2″. The Basic Black mat is 4″ x 5-1/4″ and is popped onto the Tranquil Tide base with Stampin’ Dimensionals and becomes the mat for the three strips of Share What You Love DSP. Each strip is cut 5″ x 1-1/4″ and adhered to the Basic Black mat with Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The greeting is stamped in Memento Black ink on Whisper White card stock and then cut out using a Layering Circle Framelits Die. A flower was fussy cut from a scrap of the Share What You Love DSP and popped on the edge of the circle with a Linen Thread bow (I call it a Mary Deatherage bow, because she is the one who showed me how to make it, if there is another name, I just re-named it for to me it will forever be a Mary Deatherage bow) adhered with a Glue Dot. There are 6 raindrops in the circle but they are hard to see.

The inside sentiment is from the Ribbons of Courage stamp (AC) set and the Amazing Life stamp set from the 2019 Occasions catalog available January 3, 2019 to June 3, 2019.
