Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals Let’s Celebrate

Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals Let’s Celebrate

Here is another poinsettia, each has been different.  This one is a request from a friend for a blue poinsettia.  She wanted to know if I could make a blue one, I told her I could make any color poinsettia I chose, I am the card creator. I told her I would search Pinterest to see if anyone had made a blue one and I found one by Tina Shaw.  Again, the Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set is the stamp set used.

My inspiration for today is the Just Add Ink Challenge.  The theme is Foil-Glimmer-Shimmer.  I believe my card is all three.

And  Watercooler Wednesday Tristan’s Challenge All About Occasions.  My occasion is birthday.

I started with a Balmy Blue card stock base.  It is the regular card cut, but since this is an easel card there is another layer that is almost like a regular card.  It is Pacific Point card stock cut 4″ x 10″  scored at 5-1/4″ and 7-5/8″ whereas the card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″.

The Pacific Point layer is adhered to the Balmy Blue card stock base.  This creates the easel. See picture above.

I made the DSP layer as I had no snowflake DSP.  I started with a panel of Basic White card stock, stamping snowflakes using a stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Deer Stamp Set. I stamped in Versa Mark, sprinkled White Embossing Powder, and heat set.  I then used a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink to color the panel. So I have my snowflake DSP. This panel is adhered to the Pacific Point panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

This is how the card looks when it is stretched open.

To create the poinsettia, using Versa Mark ink, I stamped the images on Basic White card stock, sprinkled White Embossing Powder, and heat set using a heat tool.  Leaves and sprigs were cropped from Basic White, Pacific Point, and Silver card stock. Silver thread is looped on both sides of the poinsettia.  The poinsettia and sprigs are arranged, a picture is taken for reference, and adhered using Glue Dots and Multipurpose Glue.  Pearls Basic Jewels are used to create the center of the poinsettia.

The greeting is from the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Deer Stamp set and is stamped in Versa Mark on a panel of Balmy Blue card stock, sprinkled with Embossing Powder and heat set. A panel of Pacific Point card stock is fussy cut and used as the mat, the greeting is then popped on the easel panel using Glue Dots.  Holly leaves and sprigs are added to the greeting panel and pears are added to the holly.  A single pearl is popped by the greeting.

The sentiment panel has holly leaves and sprigs added to the corner.  The panel is left blank as requested. She wants to write her own personal birthday message.

A medium Basic White envelope will be used for mailing.

If you would like to create this card all the products used are at the end of this post.
