Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Daydream with Nested Friends

Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Daydream with Nested Friends

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Daydream stamp set, Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper, a die from Nested Friends Dies, Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder and Timbers Embossing Folder

I am entering the Card Concept Challenge.  I was inspired by the cross on the mantle, the brick of the fireplace, and the wreath, the neutral colors for my clean and layered card.  I believe that the cross with the bird nest for a crown is from a card that Darryl Robbins, in our group created, , I could not find the card again, .  All I can remember is the bird nest for the crown.  I can see the cross hanging on the brick fireplace with the wreath behind it, that is what the green panel represents to me.

I am also entering the Word Art Wednesday Challenge.

I started with a card base of Evening Evergreen card stock.  I embossed a panel of Basic White card stock using the Brick and Mortar 3D Embossing Folder that I spread Crumb Cake and Soft Suede ink (soon retiring)  over the embossing folder then embossed.  I adhered the embossed panel to the Evening Evergreen card stock card base leaving a tiny border around the embossed panel.

I cut two pieces of Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper from two different patterns and matted on Evening Evergreen card stock.  I adhered one over the other on the card front, I think it makes a nice background for the cross.  I had tried the cross on the brick only at the beginning but it just did not look right so I decided to add layers that would enhance the beauty of the cross.

I cut two strips of Early Espresso card stock trimmed the top of the long piece and both ends of the shorter one, I then embossed using the Timbers 3D Embossing Folder adhered the two pieces together to form the cross.  I die cut the bird nest from Nested Friends Dies and then over the cross with a Glue Dot and adhered the cross over the Fancy Flora pieces.   I added two little crosses, one of each side of the main cross. I added three Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

I adhered a panel of Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper to the inside of the card base,  I stamped a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Daydream stamp set in Evening Evergreen ink on a piece of Basic White card stock, die cutting the piece using a die Stylish Shapes Dies.  I trimmed each end of the piece, matted on a piece of Evening Evergreen card stock and adhered to the inside panel.

Basic White medium envelope gets a piece of Fancy Flora Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap. The brown flower on the envelope flap makes me think of a crown of thorns.

  3. Shirley, this is so creative! I wish you’d edit your post and enter it in the Pammie’s Inky Pinkies Challenge where it’s an “anything goes” challenge. Turning the nest into the King’s crown was genius. He is Risen! May you have a blessed Easter.
