Amy’s Inkin’ Krew January Blog Hop– “LOVE”

Welcome!  It’s that time again for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop.  You can catch us here on the second Tuesday of each month.  Be sure to check out all the blogs, this is a talented group and you will find lots of inspiration.  Our theme for the month is “Love”.

I love red, it is a power color.  It always makes me feel energized when I wear or use red.  I would probably use red for all my cards but know that I should not.  I chose to make a card that can be for anyone, friend, relative or your one true love.   I am using the same stamp set as I used in a previous post.  It is just a different stamp from that set.  This beautiful rose is from the Graceful Garden stamp set.

My card today starts with a Real Red card base.  It is relatively simple and easy to make, even with looking so elegant,  It is one layer, no mats, just the background panel for the Graceful Garden red rose.  I suppose it could be called the mat for the rose.  A panel of Whisper White card stock was cut using the Framelits Die from the Wonderful Floral Framelits Die set.  As you can see it makes a nice decorative piece for the card.  I then used a stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set to give a little texture to the background the rose would be popped on.  The rose was stamped using Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Thick card stock.  I then colored the rose using Stampin’ Write Marker in Real Red and Pear Pizzazz. It was then fussy cut.  The rose was then popped onto the Whisper White panel using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The greeting is from the Petal Palette stamp set and is stamped at the bottom in Real Red ink below the Graceful Garden rose. Three Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were popped on the card at the top and the bottom.

The inside sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and is stamped in Real Red ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  A small rose from the Graceful Garden stamp set is stamped in Memento Black ink in the lower right corner of the sentiment panel.  It is then colored using Daffodil Delight, Real Red, and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers.  It is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Thank you for visiting our Blog Hop today.  My wish, as usual, is for you to find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.

  1. So sweet. The lattice pops beautifully over the red paper. And the Rose is beautifully colored and your cutting skills are amazing!

    1. Oh, Connie, you are so encouraging, thank you for taking the time to leave a comment. I appreciate all comments.

  2. What a beautiful job you did coloring with the markers. That is NOT my forte, but it certainly is yours…along with the fussy cutting. I can’t wait to get that die set tomorrow.

    1. Thank you Karen for your encouraging comment about my coloring. I never think it is good enough just adequate. I do like that set. I like flowers and wish SU had many more roses. Maybe I will draw them one and send to make a stamp.

  3. Beautiful! Love the color combination very much – and that fussy cut rose is gorgeous! 🙂

  4. Oh, so pretty Shirley! Your flower is amazing and the die cut edging is perfect! 🙂
