Stampin’ Up! Traditions of St Nick — Merry Christmas

Stampin’ Up! Traditions of St Nick — Merry Christmas

Today’s card that I am sharing is an easy one.  The only stamping is the greeting and the sentiment.  The Designer Series Paper does all the work for creating this simple card.  Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper is the paper used.  I also used the Timeworn Type 3 D Embossing Folder to emboss the piece St. Nick is popped on.

I am entering Pammie’s Inkie Pinkies Challenge for this card.

St. Nick is fussy cut. There was no die for him included in the Saint Nicholas Dies.  He is popped on the focal piece of  Traditions of St Nick Designer Series Paper.  A bow is made using Linen Thread and the greeting is popped over it using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  2023-2025 In Color Dots are popped around the card front.

I made two of these cards, one with trim at the bottom, the other not.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set is stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Mossy Meadow ink.  Two trees from Stampin’ Up! Forever Forest stamp set are stamped in the lower corner using the same ink.  Speckles are also stamped around the trees, stamping off once so the ink would not be so dark.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of the Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper a different pattern for the envelope flap.  Cut the piece for the envelope 2-1/4″ x 6″, adhere using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself. Feel free to CAS(E) any card. Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me. Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop

Stampin’ Up! One Horse Open Sleigh for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop.

Welcome! It that time, the 2nd Tuesday of the month  you have been waiting for with excitement, a fun team blog hop from Amy’s Inkin’ Krew.   The theme for this month is “Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays”. You are in for a treat seeing all the talent these ladies present to you. Sit back with your favorite beverage and enjoy.  You will see cards that will  inspire you to get creative as you jump from blog to blog.

The card I am sharing today is a Slider card, I think that is what it is called.  Most I have seen are done portrait but as the horse and sleigh are too long for a portrait card, I did mine landscape.  Before I had followed Dawn Griffith’s cuts and scores but with this being landscape, I had to figure out the measurements. Then I thought maybe there is someone on YouTube who has done this card landscape, after searching for a long time, I found one by Maria Vargas. You ‘ve realized by now that I am using Stampin’ Up! Horse & Sleigh stamp set and Dies, plus One Horse Open Sleigh Designer Series Paper.  The greeting is from Stampin’ Up! Saint Nicholas stamp set, stamped in Pebble Path ink.  The sentiment is from Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree and is also stamped in Pebble Path ink.

The card base is two pieces of Boho Blue card stock cut 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. One is for the card front the other for the card back.  Cut a piece of Designer Series Paper 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″.  You will want to adhere the Designer Series Paper to the card front before cutting.  Use lots of adhesives because you will be cutting through two layers and you want the edges to be adhered once you cut.

Come over to 1-3/8″ from left edge of card and 3/4″ from top edge. Score from 3/4″ to 3-1/4″. Score the flap at 1-1/4″ and fold into a mountain fold.  This is where you will adhere the horse and sleigh  On both sides of the score line come over to 1-3/8″ and cut from the 3/4″ score line down to the 3-1/4″ score line .  Remember you are cutting through two layers, Designer Series Paper and card stock.  Once you have cut the two slits, go to the bottom of the slits and cut across from one slit to the other.

Cut a piece of Basic White card stock is 3-1/2″ x 3-1/2″.  This is your flap.  Stamp sentiment and art work if you want art work on this piece before you adhere to the card.  It would be good here if you watched Dawn Griffith’s video to see exactly how to adhere the slider. Slide over to the 8.31 minutes that is where she shows how to adhere the mechanism. She can explain the slider mechanism very well and how to adhere.  You will also need to cut a piece of Basic White card stock 3-1/2″ x 4″ for the mechanism.

This is a side view of the card.  After adhering the mechanism, you will need to adhere the back of the card.  This covers the mechanism.    You can see in the photo above that you need to punch a half circle for a finger hold on the card.  Dawn’s covers this also.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of the Designer Series Paper a different pattern for the envelope flap.  Cut the piece for the envelope 2-1/4″ x 6″, adhere using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Thank you for visiting my blog today, now that you’ve seen my card, I hope you’ll take a little time to jump thru all the other projects we have to share. Stampin’ Up! Traditions of St Nick – Joy and Peace

Stampin’ Up! Traditions of St Nick – Joy and Peace

Happy Veterans Day! Veterans Day is tomorrow November 11.

Christmas will be here before we realize, so my hope is that you are busy making Christmas cards that your family and friends will cherish and want to display long after the season is just a memory.  Stampin’ Up! offers the things need to create those cherished cards. Take the card below, this one is created using an Online Exclusive offering, meaning it is not in a catalog but online.  Go to the Online Store  Online Exclusives is one of the pop-ups. Click on it and look through all the fantastic items offered.

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper.  This is an Online Exclusive.  I also used Stampin’ Up! Stars at Night stamp set, Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set, and Stampin’ Up! Night Divine stamp set.

This card is a fun fold but probably not one I would make again, as I like fun folds best that will stand.  I added a piece on the back so it would stand. Start with a piece of Pebble Path card stock cut 4 1/4″ by 11″ scored on the long side at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″ and folded along the score lines. See image below.

Cut a second piece 8-1/2″ x 3″ scoring at 4-1/4″.  This is the piece the Santa image is adhered with mats.   Cut one piece of Real Red card stock 4″ x 5-1/4″, cut three pieces 2-1/2 x 4″.  These are the mats for the Designer Series Paper.  You will also need to cut two pieces of Basic White card stock 2-1/2″ x 4″.  One is for the inside of the little card and the other is for the front where Santa is adhered.  The one on the front is embossed using the cross hatch embossing folder from Basics 3D Embossing Folders.  Also, emboss the front of the little card using the same embossing folder.

Fussy cut a Santa from a piece of the Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper, popping on the Basic White embossed piece using Stampin’ Dimensionals, adhered this piece to the Real Red mat then adhere to the little card front.

Cut one piece of Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper 3-3/4″ x 5″, cut two pieces 2-1/4″ x 3-3/4″.   Adhere the Designer Series Paper to the Real Red mats, then adhered to the card base.  Adhere the little card to the main background piece.  Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Night Divine stamp set in Pebble Path ink on a piece of Basic White card stock . Mat on a piece of Pebble Path card stock and adhere to the first panel.  Adhere 2023-2025 Incolor Dots on the greeting and on the Santa piece.

You can see the piece added to the back of the card to help it stand. It is the Real Red piece.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Perched In A Tree stamp set and Stampin’ Up! Stars at Night stamp set  is stamped on the Basic White card stock piece and adhered to the inside of the little card.

This is the back of the card. A piece of Basic White has been added to write a note or add an additional sentiment.

A Basic White envelope gets  piece of Traditions of St. Nick Designer Series Paper applied to the envelope flap using  Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. Stampin’ Up! Night Divine

Stampin’ Up! Night Divine

I am sharing another card today made using O Holy Night Designer Series Paper and Stampin’ Up! Night Divine stamp set and Night Divine Dies.  Like I said in my last post, I love this Designer Series Paper.

I am entering Pammie’s Inky Pinkies Challenge.

The card base is Night of Navy card stock with a panel of Basic White added to create a mat for the O Holy Night Designer Series Paper that becomes the background for the card.  The Holy Family scene is die cut from Crumb Cake card stock using a die from Night Divine Dies.  The sheep is die cut from a scrap of Basic White card stock.

Wink of Stella is brushed on the family, but doesn’t show very well in the picture.

A  star is die cut from Basic White card stock using a die from Stars at Night Dies.  It is popped on the card front and a star from Adhesive Backed Star Trinkets is applied to the middle of the star.  A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Night Divine stamp set is stamped in Night of Navy on a piece of Basic White card stock, fussy cut and popped on the cared using Stampin; Dimensionals. Neutral Adhesive Backed Sequins.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Night Divine stamp set is stamped in Night of Navy ink on a panel of Basic White card stock. A strip of Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper is adhered to the bottom of the panel.  A star from Adhesive Backed Stars Trinkets is popped by the sentiment.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of O Holy Night Designer Series Paper applied to the envelope flap using  Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Sheep are die cut from Basic White card stock using the sheep die from Stampin’ Up! Night Divine Dies. The shepherd i, s part of the Holy Family scene, so two are die cut and the shepherds are cut from the scene with paper snips.  The two shepherds and sheep are added to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A star is die cut from a piece of Basic White card stock and popped on the card front.  A Adhesive Backed Star Trinket is popped in the middle of this star.  Neutral Adhesive Backed Sequins are also popped on the card front.
