Happy Easter
It is storming outside, so the weather channel advises. They say we are going to have golf ball size hail. Sure hope not. Cars will be damaged. A tornado watch is in effect until 4 a.m. We have barely a dribble.
Can you believe Easter is two weeks away? Maybe the weather will be nice and warm on that Sunday. It seems it is winter one day, spring the next and summer the next. It can be 30 degrees in the morning and 70 at 3 pm. Not complaining just stating facts.
I am using one of the envelopes from the March Paper Pumpkin to make my card. I told someone that the envelopes in the March Paper Pumpkin were too pretty to just use for an envelope, so I created a card from it.
I trimmed the back side of the envelope.
The art piece of the envelope is 5-3/8. The cards I usually make are 5-1/2, so this card is larger 7-3/4 total. I will use a business size envelope for mailing.
The piece of Daffodil Delight cardstock that I used for the card base is only 11 inches long. It was not large enough to make the fold of the card the way it should be. I took the flap from the envelope and attached it to the short side. You can see the flap of the envelope in the picture about. It gives a nice decorative touch to the card.
I cut a piece of Lemon Lime Twist cardstock 5-5/8 for the mat. I adhered this to the Daffodil Delight base with liquid glue. I then popped the art piece from the envelope. I popped the flower art piece from the March Paper Pumpkin onto the envelope art piece. I stamped the sentiment on the from on a tag from the Paper Pumpkin. I used the Happy Easter stamp from the Hold On to Hope stamp set from the 2018 Occasions catalog.
The inside sentiment and butterflies are from the Hold On to Hope stamp set also. I stamped them in Pear Pizzazz. I adhered it to the card base using liquid glue.
That’s my card for today, creating an alternative using the Paper Pumpkin kit. I really love this kit. Was going to order refills, but there are no refills for this kit, it was so popular.
Paper Pumpkin is a great way to start creating with Stampin Up if you are a new stamper. Everything you need to make the cards are included in the kit. The kit usually makes 8-10 cards.
