Celebrate The Good Stuff

Celebrate The Good Stuff

Here is my card for Freshly Made Sketches this week.

Here is my card.

I  started with a base of Bermuda Bay cardstock cut at 4-1/4 by 11 and scored at 5-1/2.

The black mats are 4-1/8 x 3-1/8 cut from Basic Black cardstock.

The panel of Whisper White and the Petal Passion DSP are cut 3 x4.

These are adhered to the black mats with liquid glue.

The Petal Passion DSP is popper over the panel of Whisper White with Stampin Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is a Whisper White panel cut 3-3/4 x 5.

The sentiment is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink from Stampin Up.

Happy 80th

Happy 80th

These cards are for a dear friend, no pun intended, in Texas who will turn 80 on Saturday.  I made this one first but really didn’t like it.  I think it is too blah once a picture was taken of it.   I should have just stopped with it no matter how it looks, but being me I could not.

Stamp Set: Nature Sings and Balloon Adventure

Card Base: Crumb Cake – Cut 4 ¼ x 11. Scored at 5-1/2

Banner: Wood Texture DSP – Cut 4-1/2 x 1-1/2

Background on Card base: Stamped with Versa Mark using a stamp from Nature Sings

Mat for Large Deer: Basic Black Cardstock 3-1/4 x 3-1/4

Art Piece: Watercolor Paper 3 x 3

Dies: Stitched Layering and Circle Dies

Inside Sentiment: Balloon Adventure Stamp Set

####################

SINCE I DIDN’T LIKE THE FIRST CARD I THOUGHT I WOULD JUST MAKE A GENERIC CARD GOOD FOR ANYONE.

  1. Stamp Set: Balloon Adventure—Inside Sentiment
  2. Card base: Tranquil Tide– Cut 4 ¼ x 11. Scored at 5-1/2
  3. Mat: Melon Mambo Cardstock  —  cut 4 x 5-1/4
  4. Art Piece: From Picture Perfect Party DSP—cut 3-3/4 x 5
  5. Wink of Stella on the Flames of the Candles
  6. Happy Birthday Thinlits – One from Tranquil Tide, one from a scrap of another DSP—do not have the name, but you can use any coordinating DSP
  7. Inside decorations cut from Picture Perfect Party DSP—they look 3D when you look at the real thing.

Stay a bit longer, I made a third card and finally gave up trying to make the card I wanted that was in my brain, but I couldn’t get it out for some reason.

  1. Stamp Set: Balloon Adventure and Number of Years and Endless Birthday Wishes
  2. Card Base: Bermuda Bay – Cut 4-1/4 x 8-1/2. Scored at 4-1/4
  3. Whisper White Cardstock —  Cut 8-1/4 x 5-1/4  for Art Piece then scored in half at 4-1/8″. Die Cut using the largest of the dies from the Balloon Adventure Bundle, lining up the center of the die with the score line on your card, then run it through the Big Shot. The die cuts out the balloons, scores and embosses all at the same time.
  4. The balloons on the front were cut using the Balloon Adventure dies and the Balloon Punch from Stampin Up. They were cut from scraps of several different pieces of DSP. You can use what you have in your stash that you like.
  5. The happy birthday on the front is from a many year’s retired stamp set. I like the fonts of the set so use often.
  6. The 80 is cut using the numbers from the Number of Years Bundle.

The Inside panels are 2-1/4 by 5 cut from panels of 6×6  Picture Perfect Party DSP. The sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes.  The panel on the right is left to write a personal note.  If you have questions please call or email

It’s really hard to capture the fun of this pop-up die in a picture!  Again, looking at the real card instead of a picture, the balloons on the right and left panels look 3-D.

Well! that is it. I finally gave up and decided I needed to get this posted, no more card making.  I will probably end up making another as these are just not what I want.  Thanks for stopping by. Now on to the fabulous Nanette and her post for the day.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day

Two days until Easter and here I am making Mother’s Day cards.  For other people of course, as I lost my Mother last year.  There are still a lot of other mothers that I can make cards for.

My design is from The Paper Player Sketch Challenge 386.

I used the colored Berry Burst and Pear Pizzazz.  They are bright cheery colors for Mothers.

My card is the standard 4-1/4 x 5-1/2.

The mat is 4 x 5 cut from Whisper White.  This is embossed with the Layered Leaves TEIF.

I cut a circle from Berry Burst cardstock using a circle die.  The art piece is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  I colored the art piece using Berry Burst and Pear Pizzazz Stampin Write Markers.   I fussy cut this and popped it on the circle.

The greeting on the front is from the March Paper Pumpkin as is the sentiment inside. I used the Berry Burst Stamp Pad to stamp the greeting and the inside sentiment.  I used one of the embellishment from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit on the inside sentiment.

That’s my card for today.  Come again another day!

HAPPY EASTER, HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY, HAPPY PASSOVER!

Spring Flowers

Spring Flowers

Can you believe it is 3 days until Easter.  I remember Easter as a child.  It was always so much fun.  My Granny always made me a new dress.  You always got a new dress and shoes for Easter.  Usually, white patten leather, do they even make those any more?  Everyone dressed up in their finest clothes to go to church on Easter morning,  now people wear whatever.  Guess I am guilty of that also.

My design for today is from this week’s Just Us Girls challenge.  This is Photo Week #433 Challenge.

This is directions for you to make the card. Start with a piece of Melon Mambo cardstock.

Add a mat cut from Tranquil Tide cardstock and emboss with the Basket Weaver TEIF.  Cut a 4×4 mat from Melon Mambo cardstock for the art piece.  Using the Flying Home Stamp set and Memento Basic Black Ink stamp the art piece on  Whisper White cardstock cut 3-3/4 x 3-3/4.

Color the art piece using Soft Sky, Melon Mambo, Old Olive, and Daffodil Delight Stampin Write Markers and a Blender Pen.  Wind three strands of Linen Thread around the art piece securing the thread with a glue dot on the back of the art piece. Make a tiny bow using the Linen Thread and adhere it to the art piece just under the birdhouse.  Adhere this to the Melon Mambo mat and pop it on the Tranquil Tide mat.

The happy birthday is from the Teeny Tiny Expression Stamp Set, stamped in Tranquil Tide on a scrap of paper and then punched out using a small paper punch for greetings.  Use the die from the Petal Palette Stamp Set Bundle to die cut the embellishment piece for the happy birthday.

The inside sentiment is from the Balloon Adventure Stamp Set.  The artwork is from the Flying Home Stamp Set. Cut a mat 4 x 5 using Tranquil Tide cardstock.  Adhere this to the card base using liquid glue.  Stamp the sentiment using a Tranquil Tide  Classic Stampin Pad for the ink.  Color the artwork using Soft Sky, Melon Mambo, and Old Olive  Stampin Write Markers and a Blender Pen.  Adhere this to the Tranquil Tide mat.

That’s it! Finished.

Hope you enjoy making it as much as I did!

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary

I made this for one of my Stampin Up friends and hope that it has been received by now so she won’t see it for the first time on here.

My card today is made from products from the Occasions catalog and Sale-A-Brations catalog.

I started with one of the cards from the Tutti Frutti card pack, FREE with a $50 purchase from the Annual or Occasions catalog.  I then cut a piece of the Petal Passion DSP from the Occasions catalog. Cut 4 x 5-1/4.  I colored it using my Stampin Write Pens. I cut the piece at an angle and used both pieces on the card, leaving a  space between the two pieces.  I cut the word CELEBRATE using another Sale-A-Bration product, which is FREE with a $100 product purchase from either the Occasions or Annual catalog.

I cut the flower from a scrap of Daffodil Delight cardstock and the leaves were cut from Old Olive cardstock.  I adhered these to the front using Stampin dimensionals.  I used liquid glue to adhere the word CELEBRATE to the card.

The inside sentiment is stamped using Memento Black Ink on Whisper White cardstock cut at 4 x 5.  I matted it on another piece of the Petal Passion DSP, adhering it to the inside of the card using liquid glue.

I  visited Samford University today with my granddaughter.  They have a great school of dance and that is what she is thinking of choosing as a career.  She has danced since she was three.  She is a beautiful dancer, would you not agree with me.

We have let you know some of the challenges we’re experiencing in maintaining an adequate supply of Stampin’ Blends. Extremely long lead times with our supplier, combined with an unexpected increase in demand, has caused many of our current 27-color offering to go on backorder. You’re probably already aware of the increasing backorders and low-inventory alerts for many of our Stampin’ Blends.

At this time, we’ve had to make the difficult decision to make our entire Stampin’ Blends product line unorderable until approximately the end of May. This is not a decision we came to lightly; but with backorders only likely to get worse in the coming weeks, it is in the best interest of the company to temporarily make them unavailable.

Stampin’ Blends will be made unorderable beginning Friday, March 23, noon (MT).

We will keep you posted on the availability of Stampin’ Blends as we learn more.  If you want to order before the deadline click on the picture above and you can order from my online store or click here

If you need any stamping supplies, I’d be very happy to be your Demonstrator. Just click on the Order Stampin’ Up! Online to go directly to my online store or drop me an email if you have any questions. Happy Stamping!
