Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts

Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts

The card I am sharing today is created using the Peaceful Place DSP and the Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.

The sketch challenge with Tuesday Morning Sketches is my inspiration for this card.

This is a simple card to make, also easy, and took only a short while to put the pieces together.  It was all cutting and embossing except for the greeting from the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.

The card base is Smoky Slate card stock with a panel of Basic Black card stock embossed using a Stitched With Whimsy Die and popped on the card base after the other layers are added. A panel of Peaceful Place DSP is adhered over the Basic Black panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

From a different panel of the Peaceful Place DSP a square of the DSP is cut and then embossed using a small die from the Stitched With Whimsy Dies.  This small square is matted on a square of Basic Black and popped on the plaid panel using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A length of Real Red Sheer Ribbon is placed behind the panel before it is popped on the plaid panel.  Cute Star Sequins are popped around the trees.

Another panel of the Peaceful Place DSP is cut and a little of it is fussy cut before being matted onto a Basic Black mat.  It is then adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A sentiment will be added later.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of the plaid DSP from the Peaceful Place DSP adhered to the envelope flap.

If you would like to create this card all the products used and the card cuts are at the end of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Brilliant Wings

Stampin’ Up! Brilliant Wings

The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up! Brilliant Wings Dies along with the Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set and the Stampin’ Up! In Your Words Stamp Set. The card is a CAS(E)  of one Mary Deatherage sent me.  I even used her greeting as it so appropriate for this card and I do not have the stamp set it is in.  I need to create five more sympathy cards.  In the past 2-1/2  we have lost six family members and friends.  This card is for our friend who lost his wife and daughter in a plane crash in Alaska last Thursday.  It was an effort getting it made and I hope it will be easier getting the other done.

My inspiration comes from two challenges today, one is the Fusion Card Challenge.  I chose the butterfly on the kitty’s nose.

The other is the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge.  It has butterflies and the colors I used to create the background.

The first thing on the menu was to color a panel of Basic White card stock using Blending Brushes and the following inks: Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, Misty Moonlight, Polished Pink,  and Old Olive inks.

I took a panel of Basic White card stock and using the Stampin’ Up! Brilliant Dies cropped three butterflies from the Basic White panel.  Once cropped I popped the negative portion of the panel over the panel of Basic White card stock that I had colored using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The cropped butterflies were then popped back into the negative spaces using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals that I cut in half to fit the solid spots on the butterflies.

The greeting from Mary’s card is popped in the left corner. 2021-2023 In Color Jewels are popped around the card front.  After all this, the butterfly panel is adhered to a Basic White card stock base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Sentiments from the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set and the In Your Words Stamp Set are stamped in Old Olive ink on the Basic White panels.  A butterfly is cropped, then popped back to the negative space.

Stampin’ Up! Birds & Branches

Stampin’ Up! Birds & Branches

Hope your day is going great and that the weekend is going the way you want.

The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up! Birds & Branches Stamp Set along with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder, the Elegantly Said Stamp Set, and the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.

My inspiration for today is the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge  — the theme is Birthdays.

The card base is Shade Spruce card stock.  A panel of Mint Macaron card stock is cropped using dies from the Birds & More Dies.  A circle frame is cropped from Shaded Spruce card stock and adhered around the main feature using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Five blossoms are stamped in Fresh Freesia ink using an image from the Birds & Branches Stamp Set. They are popped around the circle with the leaves using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Pearl Basic Jewels are colored using the Pale Papaya Stampin’ Blends Marker and popped in the center of each blossom.  Two birds from the Quite Curvy Stamp Set are stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and colored using So Saffron and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Markers.  They are popped on the Soft Suede branch that has been stamped on the Basic White circle.  The entire card front is embossed using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder.

A panel of Basic White card stock is cropped using a die from the Birds & More Dies. It is then stamped with a sentiment from Elegantly Said Stamp Set in Tuxedo Memento Black ink.  The panel is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of Forever Greenery DSP applied to the envelope flap.  This pattern goes with the card very well.

Stampin’ Up! A Good Man

Stampin’ Up! A Good Man

Wherever you live, I hope your Saturday was one of sunshine and fun, not gray skies and rain, rain, rain.  I feel for the people who have to work outside even if it is raining.  We need to thank them for their work.

The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up! A Good Man Stamp Set along with the Mountain Air Stamp Set.   One of the sentiments is from the  Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.  The others are from the A Good Man Stamp Set.

The challenge over at the Creative Creases Challenge is fun fold cards.  They are always fun to create.

The challenge over at The Sisterhood of Crafters has a theme for their current challenge of Water  –  Water – Water.  Since my card has water in it, I thought I should enter.

This is a screen fold card, so start with a panel of Seaside Spray card stock cut 5-1/2″ x 11″.  Score the panel at 2-3/4″ 5-1/2″ and 8-1/4″  Fold the card and burnish really well.  This is the way it should look once folded.  Using a label punch of your choice, punch the card at the bottom to create feet so the card will stand.  Punch the first two at the same time, then use the punched panel as a guide for punch the other two panels.

Cut four Night of Navy card stock mats 2-1/2″ x 4-7/8″.  Stamp your artwork from Stampin’ Up! Mountain Air Stamp Set using Smoky Slate for the mountains. Stamp the mountains using full-strength ink, then will be like stamping off once time.  Move your stamp up a little and stamp again. This will give you a faint shadow behind the mountains.  Continue across the 5-3/8 x 11″ panel until you have mountains across the entire panel.  Next stamp the trees using Garden Green ink.  I masked the bottom of this stamp so it would not show up on the panel.  You can use a piece of Washy Tape for this masking.  Next stamp the waves image from the High Tide Stamp Set in Seaside Spray on the two middle panels.  Using a Blending Brush and Seaside Spray ink color the sky and the bottom portion over the waves.  Also two panels are colored with no waves.  Use Crumb Cake ink to create the sand.

Stamp in Tuxedo Memento Black ink the man in the chair image that comes with the A Good Man Stamp Set.  Let the image dry well, after drying, color using Stampin’ Blends Markers in Highland Heather, Crumb Cake, and Seaside Spray ink.  Fussy cut the man and pop on the front panel using Mini Stampin’ Dimensional.

You can see that this card will fit a regular size envelope. As the card when folded is narrow, you may want to add a panel of card stock to the envelope to even the card out.

If you would like to create this card all the products used and the card cuts are at the end of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts

Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts

The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up! Ornate Style Stamp Set, I realized it retired yesterday after I had it finished. The greeting is from the Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.  I masked off part of the greeting as I only wanted the Thinking of You.  This card is similar to a card I made a few weeks ago.  You can see it here.

My challenge is with Stamping Sensations — their theme for this challenge is Beautiful Blooms.  I believe my card qualifies as I stamped and colored the flowers from the Ornate Style Stamp Set.  After coloring, I discovered this set is retired.

The card base is Coastal Cabana card stock with a panel of the same embossed using the Tasteful Texture Embossing Folder.  I suppose this will become the go-to folder for embossing now that the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder is retired.

A panel of Hand Penned DSP is cropped using a die from the Scalloped Contours Dies and adhered over the embossed panel.  A panel of Coastal Cabana card stock is cropped using a die from the Ornate Layers Dies.  It is adhered over the cropped Hand Penned DSP panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Flowers from the Ornate Style Stamp Set, now retired, was stamped on a panel of Thick Basic White card stock in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and colored using Dark & Light Granny Apple Green, Dark & Light Highland Heather, Light & Dark Balmy Blue, Dark & Light Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron and Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends Markers.  A piece of Basic White card stock is cropped using a die from the Sunflower Dies, cut in half and adhered behind the flower spray. Three jewels from the Holiday Rhinestone Jewels are placed around the card front.

The Basic White sentiment panel is cropped using a die from the Ornate Layers Dies and adhered back into the negative space at the top of the panel.

A medium Basic White envelope get a panel of the Hand Penned DSP applied to the envelope flap.
