Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick

Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick

Have a great Friday!  I think we are going to have sunshine.

My card today is with the fun Hey Chick Stamp Set.  I made my cute little chick into a leprechaun.  How do you like that little hat?  I think I may start a hat business — what do you think?    I also use the Subtle Embossing Folder, the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, and the Painted Labels.

My challenges are:

Addicted to Stamps and More — Any Occasion

And Watercooler Wednesday – Dawn’s Challenge:  Anything Goes With A Masculine Twist.

Start with a Garden Green card stock card base.  Emboss a panel of Night of Navy card stock using the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  Adhere to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I did not have a panel of DSP the color I wanted so I created my own with a panel of the In Good Taste DSP.  Cut a panel of the In Good Taste DSP and color using Garden Green ink and a Water Painter.  I drug the ink pad over the DSP panel then dropped water from the Water Painter and spread it around with the brush.  I let it dry overnight so that it would be thoroughly dry.

After the panel has dried overnight, adhere to the Night of Navy panel.  Crop the Basic White card stock circle using a die from the Painted Label Dies.  Adhere it to the Garden Green DSP.

Stamp the funky chicken from the Hey Chick Stamp Set on a small panel of Basic White card stock using Tuxedo Memento Black ink.  Color using a Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends Marker to color the hair. Use Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends Marker to color the chicken, with accents of Pumpkin Pie on his tail and feet.  Pop the bowtie that has been cropped from a scrap of the made DSP at his neck.

The Happy Saint Paddy’s Day is fussy cut from an old magazine and popped over the Basic White card stock circle using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I cropped hearts from the Stitched Be Mine Dies using Garden Green card stock and embossed each one with a different embossing folder, Hammered Metal, Scripty, Ornate Floral, and Seabed Folders to create shamrocks.  The big shamrock is cropped and adhered to the top of the card.  The smaller shamrock is cropped from the Basic White card stock and then the Garden Green pieces are adhered behind each heart to create the shamrock.

The medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of the created Garden Green DSP applied to the envelope flap.

If you would like to create this card all the products used and the card cuts are at the end of this post.

Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick

Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick

Happy Friday everyone!  Hope you are staying warm and dry.  A real winter day yesterday and probably today.

Today’s card feature’s a soon to be returning stamp set with dies added this time.  We had the Hey Chick Stamp Set in 2017.  I liked it then and so happy Stampin’ Up! decided to bring it back.  Can you believe I sold my set a week before Stampin’ Up! announced it would be returning, but I have a wonderful friend who gave me hers, all I had to do was buy the dies?

My inspiration design comes from the Try Stampin’ On Tuesday Challenge for this week.

Plus the Cute Card Thursday Challenge – with a theme of Birthdays.

Start with a card base of Misty Moonlight card stock.  Add a background panel of Dandy Garden DSP that has been matted on a panel of Basic White card stock.

Crop a circle from Basic White card stock using the largest circle die from the Stitched Shaped Dies. Crop a larger circler from Night of Navy card stock using the Layering Circle Dies. Before adhering the two together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, stamp the small field of poppies from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set in Smoky Slate ink and color using Light Red Stampin’ Blends Marker, Light Pumpkin Pie, Light So Saffron and the Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Marker. Pop a heart from the Resin Hearts on the circle by the Happy Birthday.

Using the Happy Birthday die from the Birthday Chick Dies crop three Happy Birthdays and adhere together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Adhere to the circle with the poppies.  Stamp the chicks from the Hey Chick Stamp Set and crop using the Chick Dies.  Color them using Light Real Red,  Light Crumb Cake, Light Pumpkin Pie, Light Cajun Craze, and Light Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends Markers.

The sentiment from the Happy Birthday Chick Stamp Set and Hey Chick Stamp Set is stamped in Misty Moonlight ink on a Basic White card stock panel.  The panel has a strip of the Dandy Garden DSP down one side and a chick that has been cropped, colored and popped in the corner.

The medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of Dandy Garden DSP added to the flap.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day.  My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself.  Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me.  Have a blessed day!
