Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick

Stampin’ Up! Hey Chick

Have a great Friday!  I think we are going to have sunshine.

My card today is with the fun Hey Chick Stamp Set.  I made my cute little chick into a leprechaun.  How do you like that little hat?  I think I may start a hat business — what do you think?    I also use the Subtle Embossing Folder, the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder, and the Painted Labels.

My challenges are:

Addicted to Stamps and More — Any Occasion

And Watercooler Wednesday – Dawn’s Challenge:  Anything Goes With A Masculine Twist.

Start with a Garden Green card stock card base.  Emboss a panel of Night of Navy card stock using the Pinewood Planks Embossing Folder.  Adhere to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I did not have a panel of DSP the color I wanted so I created my own with a panel of the In Good Taste DSP.  Cut a panel of the In Good Taste DSP and color using Garden Green ink and a Water Painter.  I drug the ink pad over the DSP panel then dropped water from the Water Painter and spread it around with the brush.  I let it dry overnight so that it would be thoroughly dry.

After the panel has dried overnight, adhere to the Night of Navy panel.  Crop the Basic White card stock circle using a die from the Painted Label Dies.  Adhere it to the Garden Green DSP.

Stamp the funky chicken from the Hey Chick Stamp Set on a small panel of Basic White card stock using Tuxedo Memento Black ink.  Color using a Cajun Craze Stampin’ Blends Marker to color the hair. Use Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends Marker to color the chicken, with accents of Pumpkin Pie on his tail and feet.  Pop the bowtie that has been cropped from a scrap of the made DSP at his neck.

The Happy Saint Paddy’s Day is fussy cut from an old magazine and popped over the Basic White card stock circle using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals and Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I cropped hearts from the Stitched Be Mine Dies using Garden Green card stock and embossed each one with a different embossing folder, Hammered Metal, Scripty, Ornate Floral, and Seabed Folders to create shamrocks.  The big shamrock is cropped and adhered to the top of the card.  The smaller shamrock is cropped from the Basic White card stock and then the Garden Green pieces are adhered behind each heart to create the shamrock.

The medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of the created Garden Green DSP applied to the envelope flap.

If you would like to create this card all the products used and the card cuts are at the end of this post.
