Beauty Abounds with Botanical Butterfly

It seems I am making great use of the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper. It is just so versatile and can be used for any card you chose to make. Beauty Abounds is the stamp set the greeting and sentiment are from. The Stitched Label Framelits makes a pretty addition to the card with the greeting stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink.
My sketch and inspiration come from the TGIF Challenge 200. Such a lovely sketch for the challenge.
I also decided to play at As You See It because this is a very simple card in spite of my detailed instructions. I could have just said cut your paper the sizes I have listed and adhere them with Liquid Glue, cut you some butterflies out and stick them on. I wanted to make it detailed to show how easy it really is. It is all about wording. When I think SIMPLE I think of making it easy so the novice has a chance to make a beautiful card.

This is a really simple and easy card but it will look complicated when I number the steps to creating. Do not let that deter you from making it. You will see the majority of the card is cutting. If you can cut, you can make. Follow the card recipe below:
- Cut a 4-1/4″ x 11″ card base using thick Whisper White card stock.
- Score the card at 5-1/2″ and fold on the scoreline.

- Cut a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ mat using Basic Black card stock.
- Cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel using a sheet of the Botanical Butterfly DSP
- Adhere the Botanical Butterfly DSP to the Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue.

- Cut a 2-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ panel using the Basic Black card stock.
- Cut a 2″ x 5-1/4″ panel from the Botanical Butterfly DSP using one of the sheets that have the above butterflies on it.

- Adhere the 2″ panel to the Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue.
- Adhere these two panels to the green Botanical Butterfly panel. I realized when taking pictures I could have used only half a panel of this DSP.
- Fussy cut 2 small butterflies and 1 large butterfly from the Botanical Butterfly DSP.

- Using thick Whisper White card stock cut a label using the large framelits from the Stitched Labels Framelits set.
- Stamp in Gorgeous Grape the greeting from the Beauty Abounds stamp set.
- Pop the Stitched Label over the focal panels of butterflies and greenery using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

- Adhere the large butterfly to the left corner of the Stitched Label using a Glue Dot.
- Adhere the two small butterflies using Glue Dots, one to the lower right corner of the Stitched Label and the other on one of the stems of the green flowers at the top of the left panel.

- The inside sentiment from the Beauty Abounds stamp set is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink on a panel of Whisper White that has been matted on a panel of Basic Black card stock using Liquid Glue.
- Fussy cut a large butterfly from the Botanical Butterfly DSP and adhered with Liquid Glue.
- Using Liquid Glue adhere the finished panel to the card base.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you found enjoyment in seeing my card and that you like it. My wish is for you to find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations. Have a blessed day!

Seems I used a lot of stamp sets; Love What You Do, Incredible Like You, Well Said in creating this card plus the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper (DSP)

A 2″ x 4-1/4″ panel of the Happiness Blooms Designer Series Paper is cut and adhered across the bottom of the card base covering the tip ends of the flowers.

My card starts with a Poppy Parade card stock base. The card front is embossed using the Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF). This is a rather easy card. I cut the flowers from a panel of the Painted Seasons Designer Series Paper (DSP).
The strip down the left side is also cut from the reverse side of the flower panel. A tiny border of Call Me Clover card stock is added between the strip of maze DSP and the flowers. A vertical greeting is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink in the center of the maze strip.
A flower is cut from the DSP and popped on the flower at the bottom of the panel of flowers. Several Basic Adhesive-Back Sequins are scattered over the Poppy Parade card base.
The inside sentiment panel is stamped in Grapefruit Grove and Call Me Clover ink with a flower from the Painted Seasons stamp set. A sequin is added to the center of the flower. The sentiment comes from the stamp set Humming Along and is stamped in Call Me Clover. The panel is trimmed on the right and left sides with a small strip of the maze DSP which is the reverse side of the flowers used on the front.

The art piece from the stamp set By The Bay is a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ square that is stamped using Tuxedo Memento Black Ink. It is then colored using watercolor pencils and an Aqua Painter. The watercolor pencils used are Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Old Olive, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, and Early Expresso.
After finishing coloring a 2″ x 2″ square is cut from the art piece using the Layering Square Framelits. The piece with the square cut out is adhered to the focal using Liquid Glue, then the 2″ square is popped back into the place it was cut from. This is a technique Amy Koenders showed us, so I am CAS(E)ing what she showed us. Thanks Amy.
Linen Thread is wrapped three times around the Blueberry Bushel focal panel and tied in a knot. The greeting stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink is from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set. It seems I have used that stamp set a lot lately. It is then cut using a Layering Oval Framelits Dies. Since everything that needs to be on the Blueberry Bushel focal panel is finished, it is then popped on the Granny Apple Green card base.
The inside sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set, I used it again, is stamped in Blueberry Bushel on a panel of Whisper White. The birds are stamped in Blueberry Bushel that has been stamped off once and then stamped on the panel. The panel is adhered using Liquid Glue.
