Climbing Roses

I used the Climbing Rose stamp set and the Rose Trellis Thinlits Dies for my card creation today.  I also used butterflies from the Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper (DSP) {Free with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration}.

I need to say that I was in such a hurry with my last post I forgot to give Sue Prather credit for CAS(E)ing her.  I had told her I was going to CAS(E) her card but forgot to mention it in my post. Click on Sue’s name above and you can go to her blog to see the beautiful card she made.

My inspiration for this card comes from the Global  Design Project challenge for this week.

The card base is Granny Apple Green with a Basic Black mat for the Coastal Cabana panel that has been embossed using the Subtle’s Embossing Folder. The trellis is cut from Whisper White card stock using one of the Thinlits Dies from the Rose Trellis Thinlits Die set.  The roses are stamped on a panel of Whisper White card stock in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink.

They are then colored using a Granny Apple Green Watercolor Pencil and a Melon Mambo Stampin’ Write Marker.  Once the coloring is finished the roses are popped on the right corner of the Coastal Cabana mat using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The Happy Day is stamped on a scrap of Whisper White card stock in Melon Mambo and popped over the trellis with Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The butterflies on the trellis are from the Botanical Butterfly DSP (free during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase.)  They are colored using Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Markers.

Three pearls from the Pearl Basic Jewel assortment are popped on the upper right corner of the card front.

The inside sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set is stamped in Melon Mambo on a panel of Whisper White matted on a panel of Basic Black. These panels are adhered to the card base using Liquid Glue.  A butterfly from the Botanical Butterfly DSP is colored with Melon Mambo and Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Write Markers and adhered with Liquid Glue to the sentiment panel.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you like my card and that you can find a bit of encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.

Itty Bitty Birthday with Floral Romance

Itty Bitty Birthday with Floral Romance

The card today is from the Floral Romance Designer Specialty Paper (DSP) and the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set.

My inspiration is coming from the Stamp Ink Paper Challenge featuring Vellum.  The lovely floral vellum in Floral Romance is perfect for this challenge.

The card base is Fresh Fig with a panel of Petal Pink for a mat.  The lovely floral panel from the Floral Romance DSP is matted on a panel of White White to bring out the beauty of the vellum pattern.  The greeting is stamped in Fresh Fig ink on a label that has been cut with a die from the Rose Trellis Framelits Die set.  Several leaves have been cut from the Floral Romance DSP and adhered to the label with Glue Dots.  I can’t find the spool of ribbon now that I made the bow from so I do not know the name but I believe it was a Fresh Fig.  You know when you are in a hurry things do not go well.  I was thinking tomorrow was the deadline for this challenge and it is in about 30 minutes.

The sentiment was stamped on a panel of Whisper White in Fresh Fig ink and then a floral panel of the Floral Romance DSP is  adhered over it.  The sentiment and greeting are from the Itty Bitty Stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.

Climbing Rose

Climbing Rose

Hope you have had a grand Sunday in spite of the yucky weather.

My inspirations for today’s card comes from Freshly Made Sketches Challenge for this week.

And Watercooler Wednesday for the Occasion for my card.

Instructions for the card are as follows:

  1. The card base is Old Olive 4-1/4” x 11” scored at 5-1/2”
  2. Mat for the art panel is Flirty Flamingo 4” x 5-1/4” adhered to the card base with Liquid Glue.
  3. Art panel Whisper White 3-3/4” x 5” embossed with the Subtle TIEF. Before embossing stamp the greeting in Old Olive ink using a stamp from the Bunch of Blossoms stamp set.  Much easier to stamp before embossing.  If you stamp after embossing it doesn’t look smooth and clean.
  4. Cut trellis for butterflies from Whisper White card stock using a die from the Rose Trellis Thinlits Dies, coordinates with the Climbing Roses stamp set.
  5. Adhere trellis to art panel using Liquid Glue.
  6. Fussy cut butterflies from the Botanical Butterfly DSP
  7. Stamp the rose corner piece using the Climbing Roses stamp set and Memento Black Ink. This is a nice bunch of roses to color.
  8. Color the roses using Flirty Flamingo and Old Olive Stamping Blends. I think the Flirty Flamingo looks more like Blushing Bride than Flirty Flamingo.
  9. Run the roses through the Big Shot using the coordinating die from the Rose Trellis Thinlits Dies.
  10. Adhere to the corner of the embossed Whisper White art panel using Liquid Glue.
  11. Everything that needs adhering to the art panel is now finished, so adhere it to the Flirty Flamingo mat that has been adhered to the Old Olive base. That’s it for the card front.
  12. Stamp the Happy Birthday from the Better Together stamp set on a panel of Whisper White and adhere to the inside card base.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you like my card and that you find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.

Card cuts are at the top of the post today.
