It is amazing what you can make with scraps. Thank you Just Us Girls for giving me that challenge. The challenge to make something from leftovers. Kind of like dinner what can you cook up with leftovers. You know how when you are card making, you stamp this piece and then think, “no, I don’t want that,” so it goes in the box along with all the other pieces you have stamped or cut thinking I will use this one day. Since this challenge is Leftovers, I decided to dig in my box and see what I could come up with to use.

The card base is Thick Whisper White and the background piece is also Thick Whisper White that has splashed with watercolor and stamped with an assortment of dots. It is adhered to the card base using Liquid Glue. The Humming Along hummingbird is colored Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Flirty Flamingo, and Old Olive Stampin’ Blends. The little piece of grill looking texture behind the hummingbird is from the Hummingbird Framelites Dies and is adhered using Liquid Glue. The greeting is stamped in Balmy Blue on a scrap of Balmy card stock, Old Olive and White Twine is wrapped around the greeting piece a few time and tied in a bow then popped on the background piece using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three sequins have been adhered under the greeting. The Humming Along hummingbird (don’t you just love that bird) is then popped over the greeting panel. Several sequins are scattered over the background piece.

The inside sentiment from the Seasoned with Kindness stamp set is stamped in Blueberry Bushel on a panel of Whisper White that has a Balmy Blue watercolor wash in the center.

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew January Blog Hop– “LOVE”

Welcome! It’s that time again for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop. You can catch us here on the second Tuesday of each month. Be sure to check out all the blogs, this is a talented group and you will find lots of inspiration. Our theme for the month is “Love”.

I love red, it is a power color. It always makes me feel energized when I wear or use red. I would probably use red for all my cards but know that I should not. I chose to make a card that can be for anyone, friend, relative or your one true love. I am using the same stamp set as I used in a previous post. It is just a different stamp from that set. This beautiful rose is from the Graceful Garden stamp set.

My card today starts with a Real Red card base. It is relatively simple and easy to make, even with looking so elegant, It is one layer, no mats, just the background panel for the Graceful Garden red rose. I suppose it could be called the mat for the rose. A panel of Whisper White card stock was cut using the Framelits Die from the Wonderful Floral Framelits Die set. As you can see it makes a nice decorative piece for the card. I then used a stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set to give a little texture to the background the rose would be popped on. The rose was stamped using Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Thick card stock. I then colored the rose using Stampin’ Write Marker in Real Red and Pear Pizzazz. It was then fussy cut. The rose was then popped onto the Whisper White panel using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from the Petal Palette stamp set and is stamped at the bottom in Real Red ink below the Graceful Garden rose. Three Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were popped on the card at the top and the bottom.

The inside sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and is stamped in Real Red ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock. A small rose from the Graceful Garden stamp set is stamped in Memento Black ink in the lower right corner of the sentiment panel. It is then colored using Daffodil Delight, Real Red, and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers. It is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Graceful Garden with Wonderful Romance

My card today is a combination of Graceful Garden stamp set, Seasoned With Kindness stamp set, Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies (coordinates with the Wonderful Romance stamp set) and the Delicate Lace Edgelits. I tried a little watercolor on this card to give it a bit of texture. The Graceful Garden rose is really pretty in real time, but it looks a little faded here. I believe it is because it was heat embossed after being stamped with Melon Mambo ink. Does that look like Melon Mambo to you. The watercolor pencil doesn’t look like Melon Mambo either.

My sketch layout come from Freshly Made Sketches this week.

The rose from the Graceful Garden serves as my circle for the layout. The base is Bermuda Bay card stock. This is a true simple card, two layers really. The card base and the art piece. The art piece background is colored in Coastal Cabana, Balmy Blue and Lemon Lime Twist. After I lightly colored an area with the Balmy Blue and Lemon Lime Twist, I used an Aqua Painter with water to turn the coloring into a watercolor panel. The Balmy Blue was too blue for my card base so I added some Coastal Cabana to it and it turned out great with the color. A piece of edgelit was cut from Whisper White card stock using the Delicate Lace Edgelits Dies. It was adhered to the edge of the watercolor panel using Liquid Glue.

Two strips were cut from Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist to make the banners under the rose. A die from the Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies ( this die set coordinates with the Wonderful Romance stamp set) to cut leaves from Bermuda Bay and Lemon Lime Twist card stock.

The Graceful Garden rose is stamped on a panel of watercolor paper in Melon Mambo ink and then stamped with Versa Mark and heat embossed using Clear Embossing Powder. The rose is then colored using a Melon Mambo watercolor pencil. The rose was fussy cut after being colored. The leaves were attached to the back of the rose using two Glue Dots. It was easier doing it that way, you could tell exactly how the leaves needed to be placed around the rose. After attaching the leaves to the Graceful Garden rose it was popped on the water colored panel using Mini Stamp in Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is stamped on a panel of Whisper White that is matted on a Lemon Lime Twist panel of card stock. A rose from the Graceful Garden stamp set was stamped on a panel of white watercolor card stock and then colored with the same colors as the rose on the front of the card. It is adhered with Multipurpose Liquid Glue in the lower right corner of the sentiment panel.

Petal Palette with All My Love DSP

YAY! Sale-A-Brations starts today! Is everyone ready? I have my list ready. My card today is a combination of the Petal Palette stamp set and the All Love DSP from the Occasions catalog.

The card is a simple and easy one to make and only takes minutes to make unless you are like me and get side-tracked doing something else and have to come back to it a dozen times.

The inspiration for my sketch layout comes from Global Design Project, this week’s challenge.

The card base is Balmy Blue cut 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″. The mat is a panel 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ cut from the All My Love DSP. It is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Another panel is cut measuring 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ to use as the focal panel. This also was adhered with Multipurpose Glue.

The mat for the art piece is a 1-7/8″ x 3-1/8″ panel cut using a Rectangle Framelits Die. It is cut from a piece of the All My Love DSP. The art piece measures 1-1/2″ x 2-7/8″ and is cut from a piece of Whisper White card stock. The greeting stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink is from the Petal Palette stamp set. The greeting was masked so it could be stamped in two sections, instead of one long line. The Balmy Blue hearts are embossed using the Subtle Dynamic TIEF. They are staggered down the art piece with the bottom three being attached to Silver Thread and then adhered to the panel.

Look at the difference in the two cards, one is photographed with a pink back ground, the other with a light wood background. It makes all the difference in the background you use for the clarity of a picture.

The inside sentiment panel is cut using the Stitched Label Framelits Dies. The sentiment is from the Incredible Like You stamp set and is stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink.

Flourishing Phrases and Petal Promenade DSP

Thank you for letting me pop into your inbox several times a week during 2018. It has been such a blessing to be able to share my cards with you. I hope that you will continue that blessing for me during 2019.

The card today is a combination of Flourishing Phrases, Petals and More Thinlits and Petal Promenade DSP.

The sketch for this card is from Fab Fri 153 Challenge.

Steps to creating this card:

Cut a card base 4-1/4″ x 11″ and score at 5-1/2″ using Powder Pink card stock.
Cut a mat 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ using Smokey Slate card. Emboss the Smokey Slate mat using the Subtle TIEF.
Adhere to the Powder Pink card base.
Fussy cut the wreath from the panel of Petal Promenade DSP.
Stamp in Tranquil Tide ink the greeting from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.‘
Pop the wreath on the Smokey Slate mat using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Color the three pearls from the Pearl Basic Jewel assortment using a Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker.
Pop the three pearls in the middle of the wreath at the bottom.
Cut the decorative flourish from the Petals and More Thinlits using the Big Shot.
Adhere to the Smokey Slate mat using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Pop the wreath over the decorative flourish using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Cut 4″ x 5-1/4″ a panel from Smokey Slate card stock to use as the mat for the sentiment panel.
Cut a panel of Whisper White card stock 3-3/4″ x 5″ to stamp the sentiment on.
Stamp the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases stamp set using Tranquil Tide ink on the Whisper White panel and adhere using Liquid Glue to the Smokey Slate panel.
Adhere the Smokey Slate mat with the sentiment panel on it to the Powder Pink card base.
Fussy cut a piece of the garland from the Petal Promenade DSP (picture above).
