Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods

Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods

Happy chilly Sunday.  Get a good book and curl up and read and don’t venture out in this chilliness.  A nice blanket to wrap up in will be nice.

The card I am sharing today is from the Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods stamp set and the Stampin’ Up! In The Woods dies.

The challenges for today are with Inspire. Create — Theme: Die Cutting.  I have lot of that with this card.

And… As You See It — Theme:  Trees

The first thing I did in creating this card was to cut a panel from a sheet of Stampin’ Up! Balmy Blue card stock for the art panel.  I then stamped the trees in Gold Delicata ink using a stamp from Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods stamp set.  This had to dry for a while and I ended up drying with the heat tool it was taking so long.  I then cropped two of the trees from the In The Wood Dies and colored them by laying them on the Gold Delicata ink pad and pressing down to adhere the color.  Again I dried with the heat tool because they never seem to dry.

Another of the tree dies from the In The Woods Dies was used to cut the evergreens.  The trees were stamped with Stampin’ Up! Craft Whisper White ink using the speckles stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Waterfront Stamp Set so as to give the appearance of snow on the trees as the sky had been stamped to give the appearance of snow.  A bow made with ribbon from the Stampin’ Up! Christmastime Is Here Suite is adhered to the bottom of the evergreens after the Stampin’ Up! Cherry Cobbler mat is adhered to the art piece.

The card base is Stampin’ Up! Shaded Spruce card stock with a Stampin’ Up! Cherry Cobbler card stock mat for the Stampin’ Up! Wrapped In Plaid Designer Series Paper (DSP) background panel.  The greeting is stamped using Versa Mark ink and then Stampin’ Up! Gold Embossing Powder is sprinkled on and then heat set using the heat tool.

The sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Christmastime Is Here Stamp Set Suite and is stamped in Stampin’ Up! Shaded Spruce ink as is the tree in the corner.

The Stampin’ Up! Whisper White envelope gets a bit stamping using a small evergreen tree stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Winter Wood Stamp Set on the front corner and the envelope flap.

Thank you for stopping by today.   I hope you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day.  My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself.

  1. So pretty….what a gorgeous background and beautiful gold accents! Your snowy tree is perfect, as are your other trees as well! Thanks for playing with us at As You See It this week!

  2. I love that you managed to add three different types of tree to your card and the layering adds great depth and a real woodsy feel. Combine with the plaid this is one cosy card! Thanks for playing along with our tree-themed challenge over at AYSI this week!

  3. Shirley, you’ve given us the bonus of three different styles of trees in your project! Well done! I’m disappointed to hear how long it takes the metallic ink to dry. I was thinking of getting some. But it does look beautiful on your project, especially with the gold accents in the DSP in the background. Thanks for joining us at As You See It Challenges.

  4. There’s so much to like about this card, Shirley. I like the layering of the different trees and the choice of gold to mix it up. Your snow is lovely. I think Balmy Blue was a great choice of background and I wouldn’t have thought of using it. The DSP is like a big warm blanket all by itself! Thanks for joining us again at As You See It Challenge.

  5. Very nice – love that plaid and the embossed sentiment!! The craft ink on the trees is perfectly perfect snow! 🙂
