Stampin’ Up! Seascapes Birthday Card

Stampin’ Up! Seascapes Birthday Card

The card I am sharing today is created using dies from the Sea Life Dies, along with dies for the greeting from the Stampin’ Up! In The Moment stamp set and the sentiment from Stampin’ Up! On The Horizon and Stampin’ Up! Hello Ladybug stamp sets.

One of my challenges is the AAA Birthday Birthday Card Challenge — Under the Sea

Another challenge is the NBUS (Never-been-Used-Schtuff)

My fun fold card uses Pacific Point card stock for the base. Basic White card stock is used as the mat for the pieces from the Whale of A Time DSP, retired.  Below are the card cuts instead of being at the end of the post.

Card Cuts

  • Pacific Point card stock
    • card base – 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” score at 2-1/8” on both ends of the card stock panel, fold on score line the opposite way you scored. This will give you your fun fold.
  • Basic White card stock
    • Cut (4) panels 2” x 5-3/8” mats for the Whale of A Time DSP
    • Cut (2) panels 4-1/8” x 5-3/8”one for inside mat and one for the back of card panel
  • Whale of A Time DSP
    • Cut (4) panel 1-7/8” x 5-1/4” these are adhered to the Basic White card stock mats using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
    • Cut (1) panel 4” x 5-1/4” for the inside middle panel.
  • Granny Apple Green card stock
    • Cut (1) 1″ x 11″ for belly band  — when you wrap around the card make sure it is loose enough to slide easily over the card.  You are not wanting a snug, tight fit.

I used glitter paper to crop the fish and coral.  I colored the coral using a Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Marker.  Ruined the marker so be careful coloring glitter paper.  The glitter paper makes the fish appear as it has real scales when matted on the piece of Whale Of A Time DSP.  Another of the coral is cropped using Granny Apple Green card stock and Calypso Coral card stock.  The Calypso Coral one, I highlighted the edges using a sponge and Crumb Cake ink.  All this is then adhered to the belly band using Glue Dots and Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The greeting is from the Stampin’ Up! In The Moment Stamp . I did not put the greeting on the card front as it is usually done, it took away from the look of the belly band I thought.  After I stamped the greeting in two sections so I could adhere the way you see it above, I cropped it using the smallest die from the Stitched Rectangle Dies.  I ran it through the Cut & Emboss machine twice in order to achieve the small  pieces of the greeting embossed on both ends.  The greetings on the other panels are from the Stampin’ Up! Hello Cupcake stamp set and the On the Horizon stamp set.   They are stamped in White Craft ink, I think that is what Stampin’ Up! calls it.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel from the Whale of A Time DSP applied to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

If you would like to create this card all the products used are in the post instead of at the end of the post as they usually are.
