Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals Sending Peace & Joy
The card I am sharing today is another poinsettia as this is the stamp set I am using for most of my Christmas cards. It is a different color and layout. Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Dies are used in the creation along with the Wintry 3-D Embossing Folder and the Stitched Greenery Die.
Inspiration for my color scheme is from the Sunday Stamps Challenge. I chose these colors, yellow (Crushed Curry), green (Garden Green), gray(Smoky Slate, and black(Basic Black.
I started with a Garden Green card base, adding a panel of the same embossed using the Stitched Greenery Die, adhering it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the card base. Next, I cut a panel of Basic Black card stock to be the mat for the In Good Taste DSP embossed with the Wintry 3-D Embossing Folder. This panel is adhered over the Stitched Greenery panel.
Now it is time to create the poinsettia. I cropped the poinsettia from Basic White card stock using dies from the Poinsettia Dies. Using Crushed Curry ink and a Blending Brush, I colored each layer of the poinsettia. (Have you ever noticed the yellow poinsettias for sale at Christmas?) Using a Sponge Dauber and the Crushed Curry ink I colored the edges of the petals to make them darker. After coloring, I used the bone folder to curl the edges to give a little depth to the finished poinsettia. I adhered the layers of the poinsettia together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Leaves were cropped from Garden Green card stock and the edges of the leaves were colored with Garden Green ink. Stems are cropped from Basic White card stock and colored using the Blending Brush and Crushed Curry ink.
Now, that all the cutting, cropping, and coloring are finished it is time to arrange the poinsettia with all the trimmings for it. Once arranged take a picture so you can have as reference when adhering to the card base. I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the poinsettia, Glue Dots on the leaves and stems, also Glue Dots for adhering the ribbon to the card base.
A poinsettia from the Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set is stamped in Crushed Curry ink in the corner of a Basic White card stock panel with a sentiment from October Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set being used. The sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink. The panel is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of Painted Christmas DSP applied to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I have never seen a yellow poinsettia but your is certainly gorgeous Shirley! It also shows that die set could conceivably be used for occasions other than Christmas. Thank you so much for joining us at Sunday Stamps!
