Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies

Stampin’ Up! Painted Poppies

Happy Day everyone.  You are one day closer to a three-day weekend, are you excited.  Once upon a time we would be camping in the mountains between North Carolina and Tennessee.  You had to have a jeep to get to the camp or walk.  My friend and I usually would walk because it was so rugged and scary in places that we chose to walk.  We could walk faster than the jeeps could go.

The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin” Up! Painted Poppies Stamp Set, the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set, the Poppy Moment and Painted Label Dies.

My inspiration for today comes from the Double D Challenge.  I chose the poppies as it is May and soon Memorial Day.

I started with a Basic White card stock base with a panel of the same cropped using a die from the Poppy Moment Dies.  This panel is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue in several spots.

The poppies from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set are stamped on Basic White card stock using Tuxedo Memento Black Ink.  Let the ink dry well or use your heat tool to dry before you color.  I learned the hard way. The ink will run and I have never had that before with Memento ink when using alcohol markers.  The poppies are colored using Poppy Parade, Petal Pink, Real Red, Flirty Flamingo, Calypso Coral, and the Color Blender Stampin’ Blends Markers.  I had a hard time getting the color of pink I wanted,  I can not tell you how many combinations I tried in order to get that pink.  Petal Pink is just not that color and there is no Blushing Bride marker.  Granny Apple Green is used for the leaves.

The poppies are arranged and popped on the card front over the cropping using Mini Glue Dot.  Several Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels are scattered around the card front.  I only used a portion of the greeting from the Peaceful Moments Stamp Set.

A poppy from the Painted Poppies Stamp Set is stamped in the corner of a Basic White panel and colored using the Poppy Parade and Granny Apple Green markers, then popped on the card base.

If you would like to create this card all the products used and the card cuts are at the end of this post.
