Stampin’ Up! Merriest Trees — Merry Christmas

Stampin’ Up! Merriest Trees — Merry Christmas

This is one of the cards demonstrated by Mary Deatherage at our Team Meeting on Sunday.  It is a fun card to create and a great way to use up scraps.  My tree is random scraps that I had saved from other cards.  Seems there is always a little snip here or there that can be saved from each card made.  The stamp set used at our Team Meeting was Stampin’ Up! Merriest Trees stamp set and Dies.

The card base is Basic White card stock with a panel of the same die cut first using a die from Merriest Trees Dies then embossed with a Falling Snow Embossing Folder.  A second piece of Basic White card stock is cut and the die cut piece is placed over it to lightly draw the outline of the tree.  I find by lightly having the outline of the trees gives you a base applying the strips of Designer Series Paper.  The strips can be cut any width you choose.  I randomly chose strips from my huge stash of strips.  I probably have enough strips left from other cards to make 20 of these cards. I didn’t realize just how many I had until I started this card.  I always just drop the strips in a box I keep on my work space for this.

After applying all the strips with a dab of Multipurpose Liquid Glue, place the embossed die cut piece over the piece with the strips.  You may have to snip a few edges so the strips to not hang off the card.  Once you see how it is going to look, pop Stampin’ Dimensionals on the back of the embossed die cut tree panel then pop over the piece with the strips.  I also popped Stampin’ Dimensionals around the tree  so there would be no slump of the tree.   A star from Stampin’ Up! Stars At Night Dies is die cut from Distressed Gold Specialty Designer Series Paper and popped on the top of the tree using a Stampin’ Dimensional.  An Adhesive Backed Star Trinket is adhered in the middle of the star.

A piece of Cherry Cobbler card stock is die cut using the same die as the one on the card front.  The piece is then embossed using the same embossing folder used for the card front. The piece is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Merriest Trees stamp set is stamped in Cherry Cobbler ink in the center of the die cut.  A gold star is adhered to the tree top.

A Basic White medium envelope gets a piece of Traditions of St Nick Designer Series Paper applied to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself. Feel free to CAS(E) any card. Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me. Have a blessed day!
