Stampin’ Up! Garden Meadow with Scenic Wonder

Stampin’ Up! Garden Meadow with Scenic Wonder

The card I am sharing today is a revised version of one Sharon Armstrong made a few years ago. I made it the way she gave instructions to do, but I didn’t like the way it looked.  The card would not stand so I added a piece to the top giving the card a regular size card front.  Click on her name and you can check out her card.  I used All About Autumn Designer Series Paper, Stampin’ Up! Scenic Wonder stamp set and a new Online Exclusive Stampin’ Up! Garden Meadow stamp set.

I am entering the Creative Creases Challenge for this card as it is a fun fold.

These are the card cuts you will need to create the card.

Card Base — Early Espresso card stock, cut one, 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ but I cut two as I ended up adding one to the front of the card so the card would stand.

Accordion — Early Espresso card stock, cut 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 3″, 5-1/2″, 8″, and 9-1/2″.  As you are folding to create the accordion, fold the 3″ score so you have two 1-1/2 sections.

Mats from Copper Clay card stock — Cut two 1-7/16″ x 4″  — cut two 2-3/8″ x 4″ — cut (1) 2-7/8″ x 4″– Cut (2) for art piece & sentiment — 2-7/8″ x 4

DSP– All About Autumn Designer Series Paper —  Cut two pieces for card front and back 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ — cut (2) 1-5/16″ x 3-7/8″ — cut (1) 2-3/4″ x 3-7/8″

Art piece & inside sentiment — Very Vanilla  — cut (2) 2-3/4″ x 3-7/8″

You can see from this photo how to adhere the mats and Designer Series Paper to the accordion and the two pieces that create the front and back of the card.  I adhered the accordion to the card back first, centering it on the panel and using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Don’t laugh when I tell you how I got the front panel on so it would be even with the back panel.  I tried several ways but the front panel would slip and it would not be even with the back panel.  Finally, I used Washi Tape to wrap around the front and back about half way so I could hold them together until I could adhered the front section that has the two different Designer Series Paper.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue on the back and closed the front panel over it.  The first time I tried gluing I glued it the wrong way and you could not open the card very well.

The art piece has a flower punched from Cherry Cobbler card stock and brushed with Crumb Cake ink.  Black ink is also flicked on the flower.  Leaves are die cut from several scraps of card stock using Autumn Leaves Dies.  A piece of ribbon is cut from Copper and Natural Combo Ribbon, fringed on each end and adhered to the art piece using Glue Dots. The hello greeting from Stampin’ Up! Garden Meadow stamp set is stamped in Copper Clay ink on the upper corner of the art piece.

I am sure glad adding the panel to the front worked to make the card be able to stand.  I had no idea if it would  but thought I would give it a try.  I cut the three panels of All About Autumn Designer Series Paper so the panel would match when adhered to the card.  The sentiment panel has sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Garden Meadow stamp set and one from Stampin’ Up! Scenic Wonders stamp set.  The sentiment is stamped in Copper Clay ink.

A Basic White envelope a piece of All About Autumn Designer Series Paper is  adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

  1. I love when a card has a surprise inside, and yours is so beautiful! That pretty fall scene paired with such an encouraging sentiment makes for a real treat for the recipient! The front is also lovely with all those die cuts in gorgeous fall colors. Thanks so much for sharing your card at Creative Creases!

  5. Shirley, your revision is perfect! It annoys me when cards can’t stand up because I like to display them openly and this one is da bomb!! I keep trying to order the DSP and it leaves the store faster than you can say, “Stampin’ Up!”. Thank you so much for entering this beautiful autumnal scene in the Creative Creases Challenge. Have a blessed weekend.
