It that time, the 2nd Tuesday of the month  you have been waiting for with excitement, a fun team blog hop from Amy’s Inkin’ Krew.   The theme for this month is “Merry Christmas of Happy Holidays”. You are in for a treat seeing all the talent these ladies present to you. Sit back with your favorite beverage and enjoy.  You will see cards that will  inspire you to get creative as you jump from blog to blog.

A very easy card, I am sharing with you today.  The Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper does all the work.  I did use the Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder to emboss the Shaded Spruce cardstock strip on the right side.

The card base is Basic White cardstock with a panel of Shaded Spruce cardstock as the mat for the Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper.  Elements from Joyful Saying Ephemera Pack is used for the greeting.  Glossy Dots from Glossy Dots Assortment Pack are popped around the card front.

Card Cuts

  • Basic White cardstock
    • card base — 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″  from bottom edge1″ of right side of card front cut in 1″ to the score line.
  • Shaded Spruce cardstock
    • mat  — 3-1/8″ x 5-3/”
  • Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper
    • focal panel card front — 3″ x 5-1/4″

A sentiment from the Joyful Sayings Ephemera Pack is placed on the Basic White card base and is lightly drawn around to get the space that need to be colored using Shaded Spruce ink and a Blending Brush.  The sentiment is adhered over the shaded area using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A Glossy Dot is popped by the sentiment.

A Basic White envelope gets a panel of Sentimental Christmas Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

The card I am sharing with you today is created using Stampin’ Up! Friends For Life Stamp Set for the greeting and sentiment.  Sweet Days of Autumn Designer Series Paper does most of the work as you can see from the card. I cut strips of several of the different patterns then cut in little pieces.

Card Cuts For This Card

  • Basic Black cardstock
    • card base — 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″
    • label card front — 1-1/2″ 4-1/8″
    • card back — 2-1/4″ x 3-3/4″
  • Gold Foil Sheet
    • mat card front — 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Cajun Craze cardstock
    • mat card front  and inside —3-3/4″ x 5″
    • card back — 2-1/2″ x 4″
  • Basic White cardstock
    • card front and inside panel — 3-3/4″ x 5″

Fold and burnish the card base at the score line, this will form the easel. 

Another blog that has an easel card and another one.  The Cajun Craze mat and the Gold Foil mat will be adhered later.

To create the front panel and inside panel take a piece of Basic White cardstock for both, putting a piece of adhesive sheet the same size on the Basic White pieces.  Take the Sweet Days Of Autumn Designer Series Paper that has been cut into little pieces and place on the Basic White cardstock piece that has the adhesive sheet on it.  Leave a border around the pieces, you can see in the photo above how this is done.

Once you have enough of the little pieces on the card, sprinkle black embossing powder on the exposed parts of the adhesive sheet.  Set with a heat tool. You can see from the photo how it looks.  I did not put the greeting on the card front because I did not want to cover the beauty of this card.

Adhere one of the Cajun Craze pieces to the Gold Foil piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Adhere one of the mosaic pieces over the Cajun Craze.  Adhere to the card front at the fold.  Look at one of the photos above to see placement.  Adhere the other mosaic piece to the Cajun Craze piece and adhere to the inside of the card.

On a piece of Basic Black cardstock stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Friends For Life Stamp Set in Versa Mark, sprinkle with Gold Embossing Powder and heat set.  This greeting becomes the stop for the easel.  You can see the placement of the greeting from the photo above. 

 This is how the inside of the card looks.  The sentiment at the top of the panel is from Stampin’ Up! Friends For Life Stamp Set.  The sentiment is stamped in Versa Mark ink on a piece of Basic Black cardstock that is later trimmed to fit the space it is in, sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder and heat set.

This is the back of the card. I die cut the heart from Friends For Life Dies, adhered to a piece of Basic White cardstock, colored the leaves in the heart with Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Wild Wheat, and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.  I adhered the heart on the black mat on the back of the card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The sentiment is one from long retired Stampin’ Up! Gone Fishing Stamp Set.  I could not find a current stamp set with this sentiment.

Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies – Thinking Of You

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies and Beach Day Stamp Sets.  Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper does all the work with a few little tweeks from a few other stamp set and dies.

The card base is Highland Heather cardstock with a layer of Basic White for the Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper panel that has been embossed usign Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.  Multipurpose Liquid Glue is used as the adhesive to adhere the pieces together and adhere to the card base.

A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set is stamped on a Basic White label from my stash, so I do not remember the name.   Basic White sheer ribbon it added behind the label using Glue Dots. The label is then popped on the card front.  Greenery using Magnolia Mood Dies is popped behind the label also.  Basic Pearl Gems are randonly place around the card front.  A small butterfly is die cut using a die from Sketched Butterflies Dies.  It is popped among the folage using a Glue Dot.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Stamp Set is stamped in Memento Black ink on a Basic White cardstock panel.  A strip of Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper left over from the front panel is added at the bottom of the panel along with a leaf sprig from Magnolia Mood Dies.  The panel is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue as the adhesive.

A Basic White envelope get a piece of Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I have seen this card made recently by several different people, so I thought I would give it a try.  The beautiful Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper does most of the work.  This piece is my favorite from the entire 48 pieces, I would love a full pack of this designer or at least 12 pieces.  I also used a butterfly from Sketched Butterflies Dies, and a greeting from Stampin’  Up! Unbounded Love Stamp Set.  This is a very easy design and can make for a beautiful card if the right paper is used.

Challenges I am entering this card.

Triple B — Birds, Butterflies, & Blooms   

Never Before Used Schtuff  (NBUS)   

Card Cuts:

  • Mossy Meadow cardstock
    • card base — 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
    • strips  — (cut 4)  1/8″ x 4″ for each strip
  • Basic White cardstock
    • inside panel — 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper
    • focal panel — 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Textured Metallic 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper
    • mat for flower card front — 2-1/4″ square for die cutting
  1. Start with the Mossy Meadow card base.
  2. Cut a piece of Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper.
  3. Using the next to smallest die from Sylish Shapes Dies, die cut the flower from the center of the panel of Splendid Autumn Designer Series Paper.
  4. Using the next largest die from these dies, die cut the mat from Gold Textured Metallic Specialty Paper.
  5. Adhere the die cut flower to the gold mat using adhesive of choice, I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  6. Adhere the matted flower over the spot where you die cut it from the panel of Splendid Autumn using adhesive of choice.
  7. Using Multipurpose Liquid Glue or adhesive of choice, adhere the 1/8″ strips around the  matted flower in the middle of the panel.  Start with adhering a strip in the upper left as the photo shows.  Continue around the flower until all strips have been adhered.
  8. Die cut a butterfly from the Gold Textured Metallic Specialty Paper.  
  9. Adhere the butterfly in the lower left section of the card. (see photo)
  10. Add bling to the butterfly if you so choose.
  11. Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Unbounded Love Stamp Set in Mossy Meadow ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock.
  12. Fussy cut the greeting.
  13. Adhere the greeting to a scrap of Gold Textured Metallic Specialty Paper and fussy cut again.
  14. Pop the greeting at the top of the card on the left using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  15. Adhere a strip of Splendid Autumn Specialty Paper to the left side of a panel of Basic White cardstock.
  16. Adhere the panel to the inside of the card.
  17. A Basic White envelope gets a piece of Regals 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (I used a Gorgeous Grape piece) adhered to the envelope flap using adhesive of choice.

Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Wishes!

Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Wishes!

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Wishes, Wildflower Designs, and Country Birdhouse Stamp Set along with Distress Tile 3D Embossing Folder, and dies from Sketched Butterflies Dies.

These are the card cuts needed to create this card.

  • Basic Black cardstock
    • card base — 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
    • mat for art piece — 2-3/4′ x 2-3/4″
  • Basic White cardstock
    • mat on card front — 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • art pieces — Cut 3 — 1-1/4″ x 1-1/4″
    • inside panel — 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper
    • background piece — 3-3/4′ x 5″
    • inside strip — 1-1/4″ x 4″
    • envelope flap — 2-1/4″ x 6″

Can You Handle The Pressure (CYHTP) Challenge

Never Before Used Schtuff  (NBUS) Challenge.  The designer series paper is the Never Before Used Schtuff.

 

The cardbase is Basic Black cardstock.  Cut a piece of the same for the background diamond.   Adhere the Wildly Flowering Designer Series piece to a piece of the Basic White cardstock using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Emboss the two piece  using Distressed Tile 3D Embossing Folder, now that they have been adhered together.  Wrap White Twine from Basic Twine Essential Pack around the embossed piece three times, adhered in the back using tape.  Adhere the piece to the card base using adhesive of choice.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

  Die cut three butterflies from 2024-2026 In Color Glimmer Paper using dies from Sketched Butterflies Dies.  Using stamps from Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Wishes and Wildflower Designs Stamp Sets stamp the flower images on the Basic White squares.  I used Stampin’ Write marker to color each stamp, then stamped on the squares.  The Stampin’ Write Markers I used are Berry Burst,Crushed Curry, Fresh Freesia, and Granny Apple Green.  I then used Stampin’ Blends in the same color to color the inside of the flowers.  

Adhere the three flower squares to the Basic Black square, making sure the square is turned to create a diamond.  You can see the photo.  Adhere the three butterflies using a Glue Dot.  Pop Gems from Tinsel Gems Four Pack around the card front and on each butterfly.  The 7th Gem is inside.  On a piece of Basic Black cardstock, stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Stamp Set in Versa Mark, sprinkle White Embossing Powder over the Versa Mark and heat emboss using a heat tool.  Use an Embossing Buddy to swipe the Basic Black piece so the embossing powder will only stick to the piece where the Versa Mark is stamped.  Cut the greeting into three pieces and pop on the card front, see the photo.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock stamp in Memento Black ink a sentiment using a stamp from Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Stamp Set. 

Adhere a piece of Wildly Flowering Designer Series Paper to a Basic White envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
