Stampin’ Up! Greatest Journey — Thinking of You

Stampin’ Up! Greatest Journey — Thinking of You

The card I am sharing today is one that I have seen on Pinterest but this one is a CAS of Mary Deatherage’s card. Her instructions are very clear and easy to understand.  I did exactly what she said not to do and had to start over.  This is an anniversary card for my grandson and his wife.  They love to hike, so I thought this would make a great card for them.

I am entering the As You See It Challenge — Outdoors.

As my card is a fun fold, I am also entering the Creative Creases Challenge.

This is the way my card looks opened.   My card base is Starry Sky card stock.  This is almost like two cards made side-by-side to hold up a card front.  Start with 2 pieces of Starry Sky cards cut 4-1/4″ x 8-1/4″.  Score each piece at 2-1/4″, 4″, and 6-1/4″.  The first fold is a mountain fold and the other two are valley folds.

You can see the photo above for the folds.  Cut one piece 4-1/4″ x 4-1/4″(this is one of the errors I did the first time.)  Watch Mary’s video as to how to put the wings on the card front.  She gives great details.

Cut four Coastal Cabana mats 2-1/8″ x 4-1/8″, cut one Coastal Cabana mat 4-1/8″ x 4-1/8″, and cut four Coastal Cabana mats 1-5/8″ x 4-1/8″.

First cut a piece of Enjoy The Journey Designer Series Paper 4-1/2″ x 12″. After you have cut this piece, trim 1/4″ inch from the bottom where the trees are to save your mountain peaks.  If you just cut a 4-1/4″ x 12″ piece you will cut your mountain peaks off. Next, cut the following (this is where I errored again, instead of numbering my pieces 1-5 and cutting that way, I cut 4 pieces without thinking of the design of the Enjoy The Journey Designer Series Paper.  I matted each piece and when I started adhering to the card base, I realized my error.  Start over I did, this time I numbered the pieces of Designer Series Paper as I cut.  #1 was 2″ x 4″, #2 was 1-1/2″ x 4″ #3 was 4″ x 4″, #4 was 1-1/2″ and #5 was 2″ x 4″.  As I adhered to the mats, I wrote the number on the back of the mat.  Mary gives very clear details about doing this. My second go round took about 9-1/2 minutes to assembly after all the pieces were cut.

This is the back side of the card with the sentiment.  I adhered these pieces as I cut them so there was no mix-up.  I had to look through so many stamp sets to find one that was anniversary, I can not remember which set I used.  We need more anniversary sentiments.

A Basic White medium envelope gets a piece of Enjoy The Journey Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself. Feel free to CAS(E) any card. Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me. Stampin’ Up! Pretty Birds

Stampin’ Up! Pretty Birds

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Pretty Birds Stamp Set and Birdhouse Dies.  This is a beautiful card.  My card is a CAS of one of my team members Karen Hickam Ilsley

It took me all day to figure out how to create it but I finally was happy on the fourth try of what I created.  There are a few things Karen has that I did not even notice until I looked at her card again when I started to post this.

My card base is Basic White card stock and Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper as the background.  The bird cages are Coastal Cabana card stock.  I used Silver Foil to crop the bird swings, also I used the negative portion of the bird swing as the mirror.  I used a piece of window sheet to adhere the bird cages too.  Flowers from Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper are fussy cut and adhered to the card front.  One of the birds is popped over one bunch of flowers.

The birds are colored using Parakeet Party, Tahitian Tide,Crumb Cake, Pale Papaya, and Fresh Freesa Stampin’ Blends Markers. The birds are then cropped and popped on the card front.

I am entering the Tic, Tac Toe Challenge.  I choose Leaves, Fun Fold, and Ink Blending.

This is how the card looks when folded.  This is one of those cards you make for your own pleasure, not give to someone.  I am sure any person receiving it would consider it a real treasure.  I, also, did not put a greeting or sentiment on the card as it isn’t going to anyone.

I prepared no envelope with Designer Series Paper as this card will not be given to anyone.

Splendid Thoughts with Hues of Happiness

Stampin’ Up! Splendid Thoughts with Hues of Happiness

The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up! Splendid Thoughts stamp set,  Stampin’ Up! Happiness Abounds stamp set along with the Fern & Timber 3D Embossing Folders.

The design for my card today is inspired by the Try Stamping On Tuesday Challenge

I started with a Gorgeous Grape card stock card base .

A panel of Gorgeous Grape card stock is embossed using the Timber 3D Embossing Folder.  It is then adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A panel of Night of Navy card stock is embossed using the Fern 3D Embossing Folder.  It is then adhered  over the Timber embossed panel.  A banner is cut from Hues of Happiness DSP and adhered across the Fern embossed panel.  I created an oval by drawing and cutting off one end.  A greeting from the Stampin’ Up! Splendid Thoughts stamp set is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink on the oval and then popped on the card front.

Flowers and leaves are fussy cut from a panel of Hues of Happiness DSP.  I know there are dies to crop, but I like the white around the flowers to be small than what cropping creates.  They are popped around the oval and greeting using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A dot from the Glossy Dots Assortment is popped on the greeting and two more are popped on the upper left.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Splendid Thoughts stamp set is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink on a Basic White panel.  Flowers from the Hues of Happiness DSP are fussy cut and adhered to the lower right corner.

A Basic White medium envelope gets a panel of Hues of Happiness DSP applied to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. Stampin’ Up! Happy HedgeHog and Sweet Songbirds

Stampin’ Up! Happy HedgeHog and Sweet Songbirds

The card I am sharing today is a combination of two stamp sets, Stampin’ Up! Happy Hedgehogs for the art piece and Stampin’ Up! Sweet Songbirds for the greeting and sentiment. I also used Basic Borders Dies to give a decorative edge to the art piece.

Today, I am entering the Addicted to Stamps and More Challenge — their theme for this challenge is Any Occasion.

My card has many layers today starting with a Bermuda Bay card stock card base, adding a layer of Basic White card stock, a layer of Early Espresso card stock as a mat for the art piece, and a strip of Bermuda Bay card stock cropped using a die from the Basic Borders Dies.

My art piece is watercolored so there are no dark borders showing, I used Sahara Sand ink, stamping off once leaving only a faint outline when stamped. Barely touching the end of a Water Painter to the ink pads I colored the flowers with Daffodil Delight ink, the tree trunk with Early Espresso ink, and the leaves with a mixture of Old Olive and Granny Apple Green ink.  The center of the flowers I colored using a Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blends Marker.  The bird is Melon Mambo and Balmy Blue ink.

I colored a length of Pool Party Sheer Ribbon using a Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends Marker.  The ribbon is wrapped around all layers and tied in a knot giving the appearance of a bow.  Jewels are popped around the card front and then the layered pieces are adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Sweet Songbirds stamp set is stamped in Night of Navy ink in the upper corner of the art piece.

A panel of Basic White card stock gets a bird from the Stampin’ Up! Happy Hedgehogs stamp set stamped in Sahara Sand ink in the lower corner along with a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Sweet Songbirds Stamp Set also stamped in Sahara Sand ink.

A Basic White medium envelope gets a panel of the Brights 6″ x 6″ DSP adhered to the envelope flap.

Stampin’ Up! He’s All That Anniversary Card

Stampin’ Up! He’s All That Anniversary Card

I hope that all the Mothers, Moms, Grandmothers, Nanas, GG’s, or whatever your child, grandchild, or foster child calls you, had a very Happy Mother’s Day.

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! He’s All That stamp set, He’s the Man DSP, and All That Dies.

I am entering my card in the Alphabet Challenge  – the theme is C for Cars.

The card starts with a Soft Succulent card stock base with a panel of Evening Evergreen used as a mat for the DSP as the background.  I used a white gel pen to mark my center line on the road.

The vehicle is one of the die cuts from the He’s The Man DSP.  I popped it on the road using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped a greeting from the Stampin’ Up! He’s All That stamp set on a piece of Basic White card stock, fussy cut the wording so I could place on the card front the way I wanted it.  I adhered part at the top on a Crushed Curry star and the remaining part below the car on a Crushed Curry and Evening Evergreen circles.  Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots are popped around the card front.

I had a time finding a stamp with the Happy Anniversary sentiment.  I stamped it in Evening Evergreen ink on a panel of Basic White card stock adding another die cut from the He’s the Man DSP.  The two Crushed Curry flags are cropped with a die from All That Dies.  The two dots on the flags are Rustic Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of He’s The Man DSP applied to the envelope flap.

If you would like to create this card all the products used are in the post instead of at the end of the post as they usually are.
