Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Deer …through the woods Card

Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Deer …through the woods Card

Thank you Veterans for your service, your sacrifice, and your dedication to the protection of our country and our freedoms.

The card I am sharing today is another one made using the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set and the tree dies from the Cabin Dies.  You know how you get a saying or song stuck in your head and it plays over and over, that’s why the greeting, I kept hearing it over and over in my head when I was creating this card, so I went to the computer, typed it out and printed it to become my greeting.  I believe the rest of the saying is: to grandmother’s house we go.  I’m sure there must be more, but that’s what kept popping in my thoughts.

My challenge for today is the Word Art Wednesday Challenge.

This is a new challenge for me and I am so happy I found it.  Jingle Belles for Christmas cards.

Start with a piece of Smoky Slate cardstock cut to 5-1/2″ x 11″.  I forgot to take a picture of the blank card stock but you can see where it is scored.  Score at 1-3/4″, 5-1/2″, and 9-3/4″ this will create the folds for your card base when folded.

Cut a 3-1/2″ x 5-1/4″piece of the Peaceful Place DSP, mat on a piece of Basic Black card stock and adhere it to the card front.  It is your choice as to whether you want to add a piece of DSP to the right side of the fold as this will be folded back over the cabin panel.

Cut a 1-1/2″ x 5-1/4″  piece of a different pattern of the Peaceful Place DSP using Multipurpose Liquid Glue adhere it to the first fold of the card.  As the last fold needs to be the same as this one cut a 1″ x 5-1/4″ piece of the same DSP and adhere to the last fold.  These pieces are matted on Basic Black card stock.

Open the card base up now, so that the inside can be created.  From another panel of the Peaceful Place DSP cut two panels for the inside,  I chose the tree pattern for this one.  Cut the left panel 3-1/2″ x 5-1/4″ and the right panel 4″ x 5-1/4″  Both are matted on Basic Black card stock cut 1/8″ larger for the mats.

Stamp the sentiment in Smoky Slate ink on the right side under the trees on the left side under the trees stamp the cabin image from the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Cabin Stamp Set.

Now, it is time to create the belly band. This helps keep the card closed as it is bulky. Cut a 1-1/4″ x 11″  piece of Smoky Slate cardstock for the belly band. Close the card, wrapping loosely the cardstock band around the entire card, and adhere the two ends together with liquid glue, not too much, to create the belly band.  For this greeting, I created it on the computer and cropped using a die from the Tasteful Label Dies.  Crop trees using dies from the Cabin Dies.  Pop the trees on the label using Glue Dots.  Add a few Rhinestone Basic Jewels and your belly band is finished.

A medium white envelope gets a panel of a different pattern of the Peaceful Place DSP.

Stampin’ Up! Angels of Peace with For Unto Him Christmas Card

Stampin’ Up! Angels of Peace with For Unto Him Christmas Card

The card I am sharing today is another created using the Stampin’ Up! Angels of Peace Stamp Set.  I also used the Stampin’ Up!  For Unto Us Stamp Set for the greeting and the sentiment.

My inspiration for today’s card is the sketch from the Fusion Card Challenge.

I started with a card base of Mint Macaron card stock, next I added a panel of the Whimsy & Wonder DSP matted on a panel of Evening Evergreen card stock.  This was adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Another panel of the Whimsy & Wonder DSP is matted on Evening Evergreen card stock and adhered over the first panel.

The angel from the Stampin’ Up! Angels of Peace Stamp Set is stamped in Versa Mark ink and sprinkled with  Gold Embossing Powder and heat set.  I made a wash using Polish Pink and Balmy Blue ink and water using a water painter.  I then colored the angel.  After drying the angel is popped over the sprigs from the Poinsettia Dies.  Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels are popped around the card front.  A piece of white ribbon is colored using a Mint Macaron Stampin’ Blends Marker and adhered with Glue Dot to the bottom of the card.  Sprigs from the Poinsettia Dies is cropped from Basic White card stock and Gold Foil Sheets.  They are arranged over the ribbon and the angel is popped over them.

A greeting from the Stampin’ Up! For Unto Us Stamp Set is stamped in Evening Evergreen on a scrap of Basic White card stock, fussy cut and popped on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A snowflake I found in my trinket jar is popped in the right corner.

A medium white envelope is embossed using the Merry Melody 3-D Embossing Folder.

Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals Let’s Celebrate

Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals Let’s Celebrate

Here is another poinsettia, each has been different.  This one is a request from a friend for a blue poinsettia.  She wanted to know if I could make a blue one, I told her I could make any color poinsettia I chose, I am the card creator. I told her I would search Pinterest to see if anyone had made a blue one and I found one by Tina Shaw.  Again, the Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set is the stamp set used.

My inspiration for today is the Just Add Ink Challenge.  The theme is Foil-Glimmer-Shimmer.  I believe my card is all three.

And  Watercooler Wednesday Tristan’s Challenge All About Occasions.  My occasion is birthday.

I started with a Balmy Blue card stock base.  It is the regular card cut, but since this is an easel card there is another layer that is almost like a regular card.  It is Pacific Point card stock cut 4″ x 10″  scored at 5-1/4″ and 7-5/8″ whereas the card base is 4-1/4″ x 11″, scored at 5-1/2″.

The Pacific Point layer is adhered to the Balmy Blue card stock base.  This creates the easel. See picture above.

I made the DSP layer as I had no snowflake DSP.  I started with a panel of Basic White card stock, stamping snowflakes using a stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Deer Stamp Set. I stamped in Versa Mark, sprinkled White Embossing Powder, and heat set.  I then used a Blending Brush and Balmy Blue ink to color the panel. So I have my snowflake DSP. This panel is adhered to the Pacific Point panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

This is how the card looks when it is stretched open.

To create the poinsettia, using Versa Mark ink, I stamped the images on Basic White card stock, sprinkled White Embossing Powder, and heat set using a heat tool.  Leaves and sprigs were cropped from Basic White, Pacific Point, and Silver card stock. Silver thread is looped on both sides of the poinsettia.  The poinsettia and sprigs are arranged, a picture is taken for reference, and adhered using Glue Dots and Multipurpose Glue.  Pearls Basic Jewels are used to create the center of the poinsettia.

The greeting is from the Stampin’ Up! Peaceful Deer Stamp set and is stamped in Versa Mark on a panel of Balmy Blue card stock, sprinkled with Embossing Powder and heat set. A panel of Pacific Point card stock is fussy cut and used as the mat, the greeting is then popped on the easel panel using Glue Dots.  Holly leaves and sprigs are added to the greeting panel and pears are added to the holly.  A single pearl is popped by the greeting.

The sentiment panel has holly leaves and sprigs added to the corner.  The panel is left blank as requested. She wants to write her own personal birthday message.

A medium Basic White envelope will be used for mailing.

Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals Sending Peace & Joy

Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals Sending Peace & Joy

The card I am sharing today is another poinsettia as this is the stamp set I am using for most of my Christmas cards.  It is a different color and layout.  Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Dies are used in the creation along with the Wintry 3-D Embossing Folder and the Stitched Greenery Die.

Inspiration for my color scheme is from the Sunday Stamps Challenge.  I chose these colors, yellow (Crushed Curry), green (Garden Green), gray(Smoky Slate, and black(Basic Black.

I started with a Garden Green card base, adding a panel of the same embossed using the Stitched Greenery Die, adhering it with Multipurpose Liquid Glue to the card base.  Next, I cut a panel of Basic Black card stock to be the mat for the In Good Taste DSP embossed with the Wintry 3-D Embossing Folder. This panel is adhered over the Stitched Greenery panel.

Now it is time to create the poinsettia. I cropped the poinsettia from Basic White card stock using dies from the Poinsettia Dies.  Using Crushed Curry ink and a Blending Brush, I colored each layer of the poinsettia.  (Have you ever noticed the yellow poinsettias for sale at Christmas?)  Using a Sponge Dauber and the Crushed Curry ink I colored the edges of the petals to make them darker.  After coloring, I used the bone folder to curl the edges to give a little depth to the finished poinsettia. I adhered the layers of the poinsettia together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Leaves were cropped from Garden Green card stock and the edges of the leaves were colored with Garden Green ink.  Stems are cropped from Basic White card stock and colored using the Blending Brush and Crushed Curry ink.

Now, that all the cutting, cropping, and coloring are finished it is time to arrange the poinsettia with all the trimmings for it. Once arranged take a picture so you can have as reference when adhering to the card base.  I used Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals on the poinsettia, Glue Dots on the leaves and stems, also Glue Dots for adhering the ribbon to the card base.

A poinsettia from the Stampin’ Up! Poinsettia Petals Stamp Set is stamped in Crushed Curry ink in the corner of a Basic White card stock panel with a sentiment from October Paper Pumpkin Stamp Set being used. The sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink.  The panel is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of Painted Christmas DSP applied to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
