Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop for August — Fall Frenzy

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop for August — Fall Frenzy

Welcome!  It’s that time — what time is that you ask!  Time for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop. Our theme for August is “Fall Frenzy”  I am using fallish, (is that a word) colors as my contribution to Fall. It is the second Tuesday of each month.  You can always find a group of talented ladies that make up a part of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew.  Be sure you check out each person’s blog, you will find much talent and inspiration.  You may even find that you would like to CAS(E) one of the cards.  That’s an honor for the creator of the card to have someone want to CAS(E) their card.  Will let’s begin, I know you are wanting to see all the cards.

The  I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set.  I have had this set for a good long time and have only used it once or twice.  While making this card, I realize this is a set that can be used for a variety of cards.  The card base is Stampin’ Up! Old Olive card stock that has been embossed using the Stampin’ Up! Subtles Embossing Folder. When you want to emboss the entire front of your card base, the easy way is to cut a panel the size of the card and embossed and adhere it to the card front.  Much easier than trying to keep the entire card straight and the fold on the edge of the folder.  This card has a few layers and each layer is matted on a panel of Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso card stock.

My challenges for the day are with Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2.   I chose their sketch #165 for today, but want to come back with sketch #166.

And challenge…

Seize the Birthday + Toppings  which happens to be Flowers for the topping

The Stampin’ Up! Crushed Curry card stock panel is embossed using the Stampin’ Up! Tin Tile Embossing Folder.  After embossing I used a sponge and highlighted parts of the panel using Stampin’ Up! Early Espresso ink. This panel is then adhered to the Stampin’ Up! Early Express card stock mat using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  It is then adhered to the card front.

Next comes the Stampin’ Up 6″ x 6″ Subtle Designer Series Paper panel, also matted in Early Espresso.  It becomes the mat for the art panel.  The art panel is Stampin’ Up! Whisper White card stock and the flower images from the Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set in various colors that you can find at the bottom of this post along with the card cuts.  The bow is created from Stampin’ Up! Linen Thread.

The inside sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Itty Bitty Birthday and is stamped in Early Espresso ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  The flowers are stamped in the right corner to give the panel a bit of decoration.

In finishing my card project, I stamped a flower on the lower corner of the envelope front and three flowers on the envelope flap.  The card is finished!

  2. Lovey card Amy, adore your colour combo and pretty stamps you’ve used to make this wonderful bouquet of flowers. Glad you used my sketch and you liked it. One of our rules to be eligible for the prize is to include the sketch in your posting as I would hate you to miss out on a prize and it also lets others know where to look for another challenge blog if they are interested in my sketches. Great card and thanks so much for sharing your talent with us over at Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 and good luck.
    Hugs

  3. Just love this SU set. We used it at my last club over the summer. Mine card didn’t come out this pretty though! Love all the layers too! Thanks for playing along with us at Seize the Birthday!

  4. So pretty Shirley! Your fall bouquet is perfect and I love your card layout. Fantastic! 🙂

  5. Great use of colors and design. I’ll have to go check out that one challenge I haven’t heard of before. I rarely use the Beautiful Bouquet for anything but the sentiments and I don’t think I’ve ever used the matching dies. I need to change my bad habits!
