A Merry Little Wish

A Merry Little Wish

This is my second post of the day.  I happened upon the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge and since the theme for the week is Christmas, I thought I would give it a try.  I love making Christmas cards and try making a few all along so I do not get bogged down when it really gets time to make them.

I am using the Woodland Embossing folder and Lovely As A Tree to create this.  I really like using both of these and use them quite often, especially Lovely As A Tree.

The card base is Pool Party cut at 8-1/2 x 5-1/2, scored at 4-1/4.  Crumb Cake cardstock was used to cut a mat 4-1/4 x 5-1/2.  This was popped on the card base.

A piece of Whisper White cardstock was cut at 4 x 5-1/4 and then embossed and stamped.  To give the appearance of the green trees being behind the others, I stamped a tree from the Lovely As A Tree Stamp Set using the Garden Green stamp pad from Stampin Up onto the Woodland Embossing Folder.  I also colored the spaces between the trees to make it look like sky using a sponge dabber and Pool Party Stampin Up ink pad. I then put it through the Big Shot.  Soon I will be saying put through the Gemini!  As Governor Zell Miller used to say, I bite the bullet and bought one because of my hands.

To give the appearance of bark on the trees, I used a Crumb Cake Stampin Write Marker.

I adhered the art piece to the Crumb Cake mat with liquid glue.  The greeting is from a Stampin Up Retired Christmas stamp set.  I stamped it using the Always Artichoke stamp pad from Stampin Up.  I matted it on a small piece of Always Artichoke cardstock and popped it on the card front.

I didn’t stamp an inside sentiment as it is a while until Christmas and I can decide then the sentiment I want for the card.

Hope you enjoy the card!  Come back soon.

    1. Your kind words of encouragement are appreciated. When I first tried this technique it was quite challenging. I discovered not every card comes out the way you want the trees to look. Thanks again.
