Country Livin’

Country Livin’

It was a beautiful long weekend in this part of Georgia.  Perfect for an outside wedding.  One of my grandsons was married on Saturday so the busy time began on Monday and went all week.  I know his poor Mom is completely exhausted.  She might have been the mother of the groom, but she was sure a busy mom. The newlyweds are off to Hawaii and here we are cleaning up.  The wedding was at Rose Lawn Museum in Cartersville, a beautiful old Victorian home that is now a museum.  There is a story behind why the wedding was there.  My grandson met his bride there, he had gone with friends to a play and she was the bride in the play after it was over they were introduced and a picture was taken of them while she still had on the wedding gown.  So they could not resist having a real wedding there.  That enough now on to the card for today.

The card is created using the Country Livin’ stamp set from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog.  This is a stamp set that will probably be retired, so I wanted to use it at least once more before it is gone.  Colorful Seasons was used for the greeting on the card front. Well Said stamp set and the August 2018 Paper Pumpkin stamp set was used for the inside sentiment.  This Paper Pumpkin sentiment is such a great one for a sympathy card.

The inspirations for the card comes from the Fusion Card Challenge for this week

And…  Just  Us  Girls  Wild  Card  Week  #481

The card base is Crumb Cake card stock that has been embossed using the Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TEIF).  The next panel is from the Wood Texture DSP and is embossed using the Pinewood Plank TEIF.  It is adhered to the card base using Liquid Glue.

The boot image from the Country Livin’ stamp set is stamped on a panel of Thick Whisper White card stock using Crumb Cake ink and then Versa Mark ink and then heat embossed using Clear Embossing Powder.  A sponge dauber is used to daub Crumb Cake ink on the boots.  I picked up the wrong dauber, to begin with, and put Old Olive ink on the boots, then I daubed Crumb Cake ink over it.  It turned out quite well making the boots look older. The edges of the panel were torn to give the panel an even older look, the edges were then daubed with Crumb Cake ink.  This panel was popped on the embossed Wood panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Several sequins from the Sequin Assortment were scattered over the card front.  A length of  Jute Twine is wrapped around to give the appearance of a rope.  It is attached to the card front using Glue Dots.  The greeting is from the Colorful Seasons stamp set and is stamped in Early Expresso Ink on a strip of Whisper White card stock and then cut with paper snips to create a flag end.

The inside sentiment is stamped in Crumb Cake ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock using the Well Said stamp set and a stamp from the August 2018 Paper Pumpkin.  The boots were stamped over the sentiments after being stamped off once to make the image lighter.

I hope you like my card and that you find inspiration and encouragement for your own creations.  Have a blessed day!

My card is CAS(E)d from Tamara Bertram’s 2017 card.  You can see her card by clicking on her name.  I must have found her card on Pinterest some time ago since it is a 2017 card. That’s one reason I think this stamp set will be retired, it has been around since 2017 or maybe earlier.

Heartfelt with Well Said

Heartfelt with Well Said

Welcome, I get the honor of being a guest designer for WWYS2.  Thank you for dropping by today.   We are using the Well Said stamp bundle.  I am in shock that I could actually come up with a card from a stamp set that is majority greeting and sentiments.  I am thrilled for the challenge and I think the card turned out ok.  Goes to show what you can create with a little imagination.

Of course, you always start with a card base, which I have chosen Pool Party that has been embossed using the Layered Leaves TIEF for mine.  I then took a sponge with Pool Party ink and lightly sponged a few areas of the embossing.  A  3-1/4″ x 4-1/8″ panel of Pear Pizzazz was cut and sponged with Pool Party also.  A panel of Very Vanilla sponged with the Pool Party ink is cut and adhered at an angle over the Pear Pizzazz panel.  Flower stems in Pear Pizzazz and flowers in Rich Razzleberry have been cut using the Well Said stamp set.  These are adhered to the Very Vanilla panel using Liquid Glue in various spots.  The flowers have a pearl from the Basic Pearl Jewels adhered to their center.  The word “Heartfelt” is stamped in Rich Razzleberry ink in the upper left corner.  The word “sympathy has been cut using the sympathy die in the Well Written Framelits Dies.  I cut four so the word would have dimension.  I also used an Adhesive Backed Sheet when cutting so that adhering them together would be easier.

Again, thank you for stopping by today.!

Stampin’ Up! Products Used in Creating This Card

Well Said with Flourishing Phrases.

Well Said with Flourishing Phrases.

The weekend is here.  Many of you will have a 3 day weekend.  Enjoy!

My inspiration and design come from the Fusion Challenge – it’s about the elements.

My card today starts with a Thick Whisper White card base and a Thick Whisper White mat that has been embossed with the Layered Leaves TIEF.  This mat is adhered to the card base using Liquid Glue. The two mats for the focal pieces are from Balmy Blue card stock.  The focal pieces are from the Botanical Butterfly DSP (free with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration).  They are adhered to the mats with Liquid Glue.

The two butterflies that are die cut were cut from a Whisper White panel of card stock that had been watercolored so the butterflies would be variegated.  Balmy Blue, Pacific Point, Real Red, Granny Apple Green, and Pear Pizzazz were used to make the watercolor panel.

The greeting piece is die cut using a Layering Stitched Circle die.  The greeting from the Well Said Stamp Bundle is stamped in Balmy Blue ink.  The word sympathy is cut using the Well Written Framelits Dies that coordinates with the Well Said stamp set, both are available in the 2019 Occasions catalog.  The sentiment circle is adhered to the card from using Liquid Glue on the left side and Stampin’ Dimensional on the right side to balance the circle. That’s it for the front. The inside sentiment from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set is stamped in Balmy Blue on a panel of Whisper White and matted on a panel of Balmy Blue.  Three die cut butterflies are adhered to the panel also.

That my card for today, I hope you like it and find it encouraging and inspirational for your own creations.

Be Blessed!

Dandelion Wishes Loves Botanical Butterfly

Dandelion Wishes Loves Botanical Butterfly

My card today is a sympathy card and the stamp set is Dandelion Wishes.  Even after a loved one is gone, the love they leave behind blows around us like the wind blowing the dandelions no matter the length of time.

My inspiration for the card sketch layout is from CAS(E) This Sketch.

This card is really easy to make but it may look otherwise with all the steps listed. Here are the steps for creating this card:

  1. Whisper White card stock – card base- 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″
  2. Basic Black card stock – mat for Lemon Lime Green Botanical Butterfly DSP – 4-1/8″ x 5-1/8″
  3. Adhere mat to card base with Liquid Glue.
  4. Lemon Lime Green Botanical Butterfly DSP – 4″ x 5″.
  5. Adhere to Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue.
  6. Basic Black card stock – Cut two panels 1-5/8″ x 4″. Mats for butterfly panels.
  7. Botanical Butterfly DSP – Cut two panels 1-1 2” x 3-7/8″. Adhere to Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue.
  8. Adhere these 2 panels to the Lemon Lime Green card front.
  9. Basic Black panel – mat for greeting – cut 1″ x 3-1/8″.
  10. Whisper White panel – greeting panel – cut 7/8″ x 3″
  11. Using Memento Black Ink stamp on a Whisper White panel with stamp from Better Together stamp set. Also, stamp the dandelions blowing from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set.
  12. Adhere this greeting panel to the Basic Black mat panel using Liquid Glue.
  13. Pop the greeting panel over the two butterfly panels on the front of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  14. Adhere a green heart to the left lower corner of the card front.
  15. Basic Black card stock – cut a panel 4″ x 5-1/4″ mat for sentiment panel.
  16. Whisper White card stock – cut a panel 3-3/4″ x 5″.
  17. Using Memento Black Ink stamp the sentiment using a stamp from the August 2018 Paper Pumpkin stamp set.
  18. Using Lemon Lime ink stamp the dandelions from the Dandelion Wishes stamp set on the sentiment panel.
  19. Adhere the sentiment panel to the Basic Black card stock panel using Liquid Glue.
  20. Adhere these two panels to the inside of the Whisper White card stock.

Stampin’ Up! Itty Bitty Greetings

Stampin’ Up! Itty Bitty Greetings

A simple one layer sympathy card.

My design is from CAS(E) this Sketch.

The base is Whisper White cardstock and the art piece is Whisper White, both are embossed with the Subtle Embossing Folder.  The art piece is cut using a rectangle stitched die.  The stamp set  for the tree is a retired set from Stampin Up called White Christmas.

The inside sentiment is stamped on a panel of Whisper White.  The sentiment is so old I do not remember where it is from.  It may be one that I had printed on my computer as it was in my stash of already printed sentiments.

Thank you for stopping by today.  As always my hope is that you found encouragement and inspiration.
