Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Journey

Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Journey

I am sharing a very easy and simple fun fold today.  I used Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Wishes, Layering Leaves, and Sketched Butterflies Stamp Sets.  Also used was Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper.

These are the card cut you will need to create this card.

  • Pretty Peacock cardstock
    • card base — 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″  scored at 4-1/4″
    • little card  — 3″ x 8-1/2″ scored at 4-1/4″
  • Basic White cardstock
    • art piece card front — 2-3/4″ x 4″
    • inside piece little card — 2-3/4″ x 4″
    • inside piece card base — 4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper
    • card front little card — 2-3/4″ x 4″
    • inside — scrap

These are the challenges I am entering for this card.

Pammie’s Inky Pinkies Challenge

Creative Creases Challenge

Seize The Birthday Challenge with the option of adding a cute critter.  I am doing the “Anything Goes” as I do not have a critter on my card.

  1. Color a flower image from Stampin’ Up! Thoughtful Wishes Stamp Set using Stampin’ Write Markers, I used Pretty Peacock and Wild Wheat.  Give the image a huff of breath after coloring to moisten it so it will stamp well.
  2. Stamp the colored image on one of the 2-3/4″ x 4″ pieces of Basic White cardstock, leaving space at the top for a greeting.
  3. Stamp a greeting in Pretty Peacock ink using a stamp from Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Stamp Set.
  4. Use the splash of dots stamp from Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Stamp Set to stamp dots in Wild Wheat ink around the flower.
  5. Adhere to the left side of your card base front leaving a border around the edges.
  6. On the other piece of Basic White cardstock, stamp in Pretty Peacock ink a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Stamp Set.
  7. Stamp in Pretty Peacock ink in the lower right corner, a flower image from Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Stamp Set.
  8. Adhere the Basic White piece to the inside of the little card using adhesive of choice.
  9. Adhere the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series piece to the little card front.
  10. Adhere the little card to the right side of the card front making sure edges are even.  The left edge may extend over the Basic White piece just a bit but this is fine.
  11. Adhere dots from Glossy Dot Assortment.
  12. Stamp in Pretty Peacock ink, a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set on the Basic White piece for the inside of the card.
  13. Using left-over scraps from Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper adhere to the left side of the inside Basic White panel.
  14. Adhere three of the dots from the Glossy Dot Assortment on the left side in the little white space at the top of the Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of Thoughtful Journey Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Glue or adhesive of choice.  My card is a CAS of a card Sharon Armstrong created, but I had to make it mine so I added to it.

I am happy you stop  by today.  I hope you take the time to linger and look at my other blog posts and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. My hope and wish are that you wilbe inspired to create amazing creations yourself. Feel free to CAS(E) any card. Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me. Have a blessed day!

Stampin’ Up! Products Used In Creating This Card

Stampin’ Up! Spotlight On Nature — Thinking Of You

Stampin’ Up! Spotlight On Nature — Thinking Of You

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Spotlight On Nature Stamp Set, along with Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set.

I am entering these challenges:

Addicted To Stamps & More  — Theme this challenge Make Your Mark

Allsorts Challenge  – Theme this challenge Blooms, Bees, and Butterflies

Cupcake Inspirations  Challenge #597  —  Theme this challenge Anything Goes

Daisy Chain Challenge #86 — Theme this challenge Birthday

I started with a Misty Moonlight cardstock card base.  I embossed a piece of Basic White card Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.  This pieces is adhere over the Misty Moonlight card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Three strips of Poetic Expressions Designer Series Paper  are cut and matted on pieces of Misty Moonlight cardstock.  The strips are adhered around the front of the card over the embossed panel.

On a piece of Basic White cardstock the flower image from Stampin’ Up! Spotlight On Nature Stamp Set is stamped in Memento Black ink. A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set is stamped in the corner of the art piece in Memento Black ink. Using a Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends the greeting is colored over giving a bit of highlight. The flower image is colored using Balmy Blue, Boho Blue, and Granny Apple Green ink.  The art  piece is matted on a piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock, a white ribbon wrapped around the piece, then popped over the three strips using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Misty Moonlight gems from Tinsel Gems Three Pack are popped around the card front.

A butterfly from my large stash of butterflies that I die cut a while back is colored using Balmy Blue ink and a Blending Brush. Two Misty Moonlight gems from Tinsel Gems Three Pack are popped on the butterfly and the butterfly is then adhered to the corner of the art piece using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set is stamped in Memento Black ink on a panel of Basic White cardstock.  Two butterflies from the same stamp set are stamped in the lower right corner and colored using Balmy Blue and Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends.

The card shared today is another one made using Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia Stamp Set and Dies.  With this stamp set being so versatile, there is no end to the different designs that can created with this stamp set.  Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set and Layering Leaves Stamp Set are also used.

Pammie’s Inky Pinkies Challenge

Creative Creases Challenge

Using Designer Series Paper as the card base cuts down on the weight of the card so extra postage hopefully will not be required.

  1. A 5-1/2″ x 11″ piece of Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper is used for the card base.
  2. Score the piece at 2″, 4″, 8″, and 10″.
  3. Turn the piece to the long end. Measure down 2-3/4″ and make a mark. Do this on both side of the 12″ piece.
  4. Place the piece in the track of your paper trimmer, lining up the mark and the first score line.
  5. Cut at an angle from the score line to the mark. If you will click on this link, you can see Lisa Curcio‘s diagram of how to score and cut.  Scroll down the page a bit and you will see the download for the diagram.
  6. Using a flower and leaf stamp from Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia Stamp Set, stamp three zinnias and three leaves in Smoky Slate ink on a piece of Basic White card stock.
  7. Color the zinnias in Melon Mambo, Berry Burst, Daffodil Delight, and  Highland Heather.
  8. Color the leaves using Granny Apple Green, Garden Green, and Old Olive ink.
  9. Die cut using dies from Simply Zinnia Dies.
  10. Die cut a piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper using the next to largest die from Perennial Postage Dies.
