Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnias — Sending flowers

Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnias — Sending flowers

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnias Stamp Set & Dies, along with Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse Stamp Set.

This is my first time use of Basic Beige cardstock for a card base and I like the way it turned out as the card base.  A piece of the same is embossed using Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.  The embossed pieces is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A piece of Petal Pink cardstock is embossed using the same embossing folder.  It is adhered over the Basic Beige embossed piece.  I have never been a fan of Petal Pink but it seems the perfect color for this card.  A piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper is cut, adhering it over the Petal Pink piece.

Using dies from Simply Zinnias Dies and Petal Pink and Berry Burst cardstock die cut the pieces to create the flowers, you can see the pieces in the next photo.  The petals with the largest center is the piece I adhered to the solid flower base first.  Arrange the second layers so the petal off set each other.  I adhered two of the Lemon Lolly star centers together to give a better dimension.  The center is cut from a piece of Pecan Pie.  Arrange the two flowers and leaves over the Country Woods Designer Series Paper using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

These are the pieces you will need for each flower.  I did not include the leaves as they are just leaves.  I used Peach Pie and Berry Burst ink to sponge the edges of the petals using a sponge dauber.

Make a loopy Linen Thread bow and adhere to the card front using a Glue Dot.  Pop sequins around the card front along with a Brush Brass Butterfly pop on a Zinnia.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Country Birdhouse is stamped on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  A Zinnia is fussy cut from Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper and adhered in the right corner.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper  adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia — Sending Flowers

Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia — Sending Flowers

My card I am sharing today is a CAS of the one Carol Buckalew created at our Team Meeting in March.  She created a beautiful card so that all us members that chose to make a card like hers would have a beauty also.

I am joining Creative Creases Challenge for this card.

  • Start with a  4-1/4″ x 11″  piece of Mossy Meadow cardstock as the card base.
  • As this is a fun fold, you will need to make a few score lines for folding.
  • Score at 2-1/4″, 3-5/8″, 7-3/8″ and 8-3/4″.
  • Fold the cardstock at the score line, the first fold is valley fold, then mountain fold, then mountain fold again and finally the last one is a valley fold.  This will give you the pop-out for the center of the card.

  • Cut 4 pieces of Daffodil Delight cardstock for the mats.  The measurements are at the end of the post.
  • Cut 3 pieces of  Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper.
  • Adhere the Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper to the Daffodil Delight mats using Multipurpose Liquid Glue
  • Die cut a piece of Basic White cardstock using a die from Perennial Postage Dies.
  • Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnias stamp set in Memento Black ink.
  • Die cut a piece of Berry Burst cardstock using a larger die from Perennial Postage Dies.  This is the mat for the greeting.
  • Adhere the two pieces together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  • Adhere all the matted pieces to the card front. See photo above.
  • Stamp 3 Zinnias & leaves using a flower and leaf image from Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia stamp set.
  • Stamp one in Gorgeous Grape ink and color with Highland Heather Stampin’ Blends, Stamp one in Melon Mambo ink and color using Melon Mambo Stampin’ Blends, and stamp the last one in Crushed Curry ink and color using Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends.
  • Pop the Zinnias  and leaves over the greeting using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • Pop Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins around the card front.
  • Die cut a piece of Basic White  using a die from Perennial Postage Dies & cut a piece of  Daffodil Delight cardstock.
  • Stamp a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day stamp set on the Basic White piece using Memento Black ink.
  • Stamp a flower from the same stamp set as the one on the card front in the corner of the Basic White piece.
  • Adhere the two pieces together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then adhere to the back of the card.
  • Adhere a piece of Flowering Zinnias Designer Series Paper to a Basic White envelope flap using Multipurpose Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia — Sending Flowers

Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia — Sending Flowers

Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia stamp set and Dies is the stamps and dies I used to create the card I am sharing today.  I also used  dies from Stampin’ Up! Perennial Postage Dies and the Zinnia 3 D Embossing Folder.

This is the challenge I am entering for this card.

Krafty Chicks Challenge — Anything Goes

  1. Start with a Basic White cardstock card base.
  2. Using dies from Stampin’ Up! Perennial Postage dies, die cut a piece of Basic White cardstock using the two larges dies.  I die cut at the same time making a frame.
  3. Adhere the frame to the card base.
  4. Emboss the smaller piece using Zinnia 3 D Embossing Folder.
  5. The smaller of the die cuts is popped back in the negative space of the frame using Stampin’ Dimensionals after embossing.
  6. On a piece of Basic White cardstock stamp the large three flower image from Stampin’ Up! Simply Zinnia stamp set.
  7. Color the flowers, using Calypso Coral, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather, Melon Mambo, and Wild Wheat Stampin’ Blends.
  8. Pop the Zinnias over the embossed panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  9. Make a loopy Crumb Cake bow using Linen Thread.
  10. Adhere the bow to the bottom of the Zinnias with a Glue Dot.
  11. Stamp a greeting  in Memento Black ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock.
  12. Pop the greeting over the Linen Bow positioning the Stampin’ Dimensionals on each side of the bow.
  13. Pop Adhesive Backed Shiny Sequins around the card front.
  14. Die cut a piece of Basic White cardstock using the same dies as used on the card front.
  15. Stamp the other half of  message on the stamp used for the greeting on the card front on this die cut panel.
  16. Adhere a zinnia fussy cut from a piece of Flowering Zinnia Designer Series Paper to the lower corner of the Basic White panel.
