Stampin’ Up! Queen Bee Hello

Stampin’ Up! Queen Bee Hello

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Queen Bee stamp set and the Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home stamp set.  This is a card I saw from Brandy Cox.

This challenge goes well with my card today, as there are always lots of bees in the Spring.

I am also entering the Creative Creases Challenge as it is always a fun fold and my card is a fun fold today.

I started with a piece of Basic White card stock 8-1/2″ x 11″  scored at 4-1/4″ on the short side and 5-1/2″ on the long side.  On the 8-1/2″ side cut down the score line to the 5-1/2″ score line. The piece cut out can be used to cut the 2-1/2 x 3″ piece for the inside sentiment.  This will be the card base. I stamped the Queen Bee from Stampin’ Up! Queen Bee stamp set in Versa Mark, sprinkled Gold Embossing Powder and heat embossed using a heat tool.  I cropped the bee using a die from Queen Bee Dies.  I stamped in Mossy Meadow ink the flower spray from Stampin’ Up!  Queen Bee stamp set.  I used Old Olive and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Markers to color.  I cropped flowers, twigs, sprigs, and leaves from Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home stamp set from Old Olive and Mossy Meadow card stock.  I cropped one leaves bunch from Distressed Gold Specialty Paper.   I stamped a bee from Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home stamp set and colored using Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends Marker.  All of these will be arranged on the card front and inside once the card base is finished.

  1.  Cut 3-1/4″ off the bottom of the card front.  From the piece cut off, cut five 1/2″ x 4-1/4″ strips.  Cut the strip that is left in half, this gives you two strips that will be used to anchor the other strips together.
  2.   With the sticky side out adhere a piece of Washi Tape to the middle of the card front so you can position the strips on the card front.
  3. Start at the bottom for the first strip, next place a strip at the top, leaving a space between the strip and the card base.  Place a strip in the middle.
  4. Wait until you have all the strips positioned before pressing down on the tape. If you need to adjust the space between the strips it will be easier to do if they are not stuck tight to the Washi Tape.
  5. Place a dot of Liquid Glue on each strip and place one of the two strips left over the glue and press down.     I waited until I had both strips in place so I could adjust if necessary.
  6. Turn the over so the Washi Tape is showing and gently remove the tape. Pressing down on each strip as you pull the tape will help prevent tearing the card stock.
  7. This is how the card front looks after you have finished with all the strips and trimming the excess from the bottom of the card.

I cut a 3-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Daffodil Delight card stock and stamped it in Cajun Craze ink using a stamp from Stampin’ Up! Queen Bee stamp set.  I  scored the piece at 4-1/4″ and cut from the score line to the corner, then wrapped the piece around the card front into the inside.  This is for a gift card or whatever you choose to place in the pocket.

I cut a piece of Mossy Meadow card stock 3-18″ x 3-7/8″ for a mat for the 2-1/2″ x 3″ Basic White piece.  On the Basic White piece, I stamped a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Country Bouquet stamp set in Mossy Meadow ink.  These are adhered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and then adhered to the card base using the same.

I stamped a strip of Daffodil Delight card stock in Cajun Craze ink using a stamp from Stampin’ Up! Queen Bee stamp set.  I adhered the strip to a Medium Basic White envelope and trimmed the excess from the flap.

Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home Sending A Little Message

Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home Sending A Little Message

The card I am sharing today is again made using the Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home stamp set, along with the Hive 3D Embossing Folder.

My challenge for today is the Can You Handle The Pressure – their all-time theme is Day/Heat Embossing.

Also, the Krafty Chicks Challenge — anything goes

My card base is Basic White card stock. The art piece was cropped using the next to the largest  Scalloped Contour Dies.  I used the negative as a frame for the piece.  I embossed it using the Hive 3D Embossing Folder.

I colored the art panel using Old Olive and Misty Moonlight ink using Blending Brushes.  I stamped some of the flowers from the Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home stamp set and cropped some from the Honeybee Blooms Dies.  I colored all using Stampin’ Blends Markers in Poppy Parade, So Saffron, Highland Heather, and Soft Succulent.

I arranged the flowers on the art panel, took a picture so I would remember the arrangement, then adhered them to the panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I colored a length of a scrap of ribbon with a Poppy Parade Stampin’ Blends Marker, making a bow after drying.  I thought being an alcohol marker it would dry very quick, I found that out by getting the ink on my fingers.  I made a bow and popped it over the flowers on the art panel.  I popped the art panel back into the negative portion that is the frame.  This is a good way to save card stock if you are cropping a piece, use the negative portion and it looks like an added layer.

The greeting is from a stamp set I received for OnTour so I am not sure about showing it.  I stamped it in Memento Black ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock then fussy cut it to match the shape of the greeting. Using a Blending Brush I brushed Misty Moonlight ink over the greeting.  Using a Wink of Stella pen, I flicked the clear Stella over the card from giving it sparkle, you can see it in certain spots on the card front, all to do with the light shining on the card.   I put Wink of Stella all over the bee and popped him at the top of the flowers.

I cropped another panel of Basic White card stock and colored it as I had colored the art piece for the card front.  I stamped the greeting in Memento Black ink along with the flower.  I colored the flower using So Saffron and Soft Succulent Stampin’ Blends Markers.

A medium Basic White envelope gets stamped with stamps from the Stampin’ Up! Very Versailles stamp set to the envelope flap using Old Olive ink.

If you would like to create this card all the products used are in the post instead of at the end of the post as they usually are.

Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home Missing You

Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home Missing You

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home stamp set with a sneak peek of one of the stamps, I received in my On Tour stamp set.

I always enjoy Addicted to Stamps and More Challenges — I am one of those many people who is addicted to stamping so the title of this challenge is so on point.

My design is inspired by the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge for this week.

I started with a card base of Basic White card stock with a panel of the same embossed using the Timber Embossing Folder and adhered to the card base.

I stamped the image of the bottle in Early Espresso ink on a panel of  Basic White card stock then decided to emboss it.  I thought of using clear embossing powder to give the brown bottle a shine but settled on Copper Embossing Powder from the Metallic Embossing Powders Trio which does the same.  As with most embossing, the direction of light shining on the card can make it appear to be different colors.

An image of a sprig of greenery is stamped in Old Olive ink at the bottle opening. The spray of dots is from an image in the Stampin’ Up! Daffodil Daydream stamp set and is stamped in Old Olive ink also.  A strip of green from a piece of  You’re A Peach DSP is added to the left side of the panel.  The panel is adhered over the embossed panel on the card front.  I colored three Pearl Basic Jewels using an Old Olive Stampin’ Blends Marker then popped them on the card front.   A greeting from the Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home stamp set is stamped on a scrap of Basic White card stock, fussy cut, then popped on the card front using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The sentiment is also from the Stampin’ Up! Honeybee Home stamp set and is stamped in Old Olive ink.  The green foliage is also stamped in Old Olive ink.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel from the You’re A Peach DSP applied to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

If you would like to create this card all the products used are in the post instead of at the end of the post as they usually are.
