Stampin’ Up! Nested Friends — Thinking of You

Stampin’ Up! Nested Friends — Thinking of You

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Nested Friends stamp set.  I also used Stampin’ Up! Seasons of Chic stamp set and Stampin’ Up! Garden Birdhouses stamp set for sentiments, and Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper.

I am entering Seize The Birthday Challenge — Their theme for this challenge is alcohol, not the kind you drink, the kind that you have in alcohol markers.  My bird nest, leaves and berries are colored using Stampin’ Blends Markers which is Stampin’ Up!‘s alcohol markers.

I started with a Basic White card stock card base. This is a single layer card.  I stamped the nest from Stampin’ Up! Nested Friends stamp set.  You can see from the photo above the placement of the nest stamp on the front of the card.  After stamping using the die from Nested Friends Dies that cuts the nest out. Place the edge of the cutting plate across the die at the point I have marked in the above photo. You can see from the placement of the die how much of the nest is die cut.  See the photo below for how the nest looks after cutting.  My card is a CAS of one Dawn Griffith made. She made three different ones so you just may see another of her cards from this same video in the near future.  You can see her YouTube video of this card and the other two she made by clicking here.  These days I have to find someone I can CAS, my brain is so full and overly tired that I can’t think of what to create.  I have been working on a special card for someone for almost a month now, I get the card finally finished after stamping the parts 6 different times to get it right and now I have to start over, I put it together backward, so see how my poor brain is working.

You can see in this photo how the bird nest looks after being partially die cut.  I stamped one of the greetings from Stampin’ Up! Nested Friends stamp set on the front of the card in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink.  Using Balmy Blue ink, I stamped the dots around the card front stamping off twice before stamping on the card.

I colored the nest using a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Marker. To color the bird, I use Balmy Blue and Blushing Bride Stampin’ Blends Markers.  The leaves are colored using Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Markers.  The berries are colored in Polish Pink Stampin’ BlendsBrushed Brass Butterflies are popped around the card front.

A piece of Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper (soon to be retired) is adhered at the bottom of the panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The bird nest rest on this panel when the card is closed.  Sentiments are stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink using stamps from Stampin’ Up! Garden Birdhouses stamp set and Stampin’ Up! Seasons of Chic stamp set.  Brush Brass Butterflies are also popped on the inside panel.

Basic White medium envelope gets a piece of Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap.

Stampin’ Up! Rustic Harvest – Celebrate You

Stampin’ Up! Rustic Harvest – Celebrate You

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper.  I suppose you can call this a fun fold.

I am entering A Perfect Time To Craft Challenge.  Their theme is October and I always think of pumpkins in October.

I am also entering the Daisy Chain Challenge.  Their theme is Autumn/Halloween.

I started with a 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ piece of Cajun Craze card stock scored at 1-1/2″ and 5-3/4″. I cut pieces of Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper 1-1/2″ x 5-1/2″ and 2-3/4″ x 5-1/2″.  I adhered these two pieces to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

To create the slide for the card this is what I did:  On a piece of Basic White card stock, I stamped a greeting in Cajun Craze and Crushed Curry ink. These two stamps are from long-retired sets. I cut the words off a greeting stamp to create a greeting.  Pumpkins are fussy cut from a piece of Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper.  Using Crumb Cake ink and a sponge dauber, I created some dirt for the pumpkins to lay one.  The pumpkins are arranged over the dirt and adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Brushed Metallic Dots are popped around the card front.  This Basic White piece is adhered to a mat of Cajun Craze card stock.  It will be sled on the card once the slide mechanism is adhered to the back.

The picture below show how to create the slide mechanism.

  1. The first picture shows the pieces needed to create the slide.  You will need two pieces of Cajun Craze and Basic White card stock cut 2-1/2 x 2-1/2″
  2. The second picture shows how the slide is put together.  Score the two pieces of Basic White card stock at 1-1/4″.  Adhere the two pieces to one of the Cajun Craze squares using tear & tape, Seal +, or Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Flatten the “V” part showing and adhere the other piece of Cajun Craze card stock to the top.  It is like creating a sandwich.
  3. The third picture shows how the slide looks once it is put together.
  4. The fourth and final picture shows how the slide is adhered to the back of the art piece.

A piece of Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper is adhered to the inside panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A piece of Basic White card stock is cropped using a Deckled Rectangle Die.  A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Garden Birdhouses stamp set is stamped in Cajun Craze ink onto the panel.  The panel is then adhered to the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Panel. Pumpkins are fussy cut from a panel of the Designer Series Paper and the pumpkins are adhered to the panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of the Rustic Harvest Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Garden Birdhouses Hello card

Stampin’ Up! Garden Birdhouses Hello card

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Garden Birdhouses stamp set.

I am entering the Alphabet Challenge. Their theme is F for Friendship.  This is good as the card I made is for a friend that is vision impaired.  She will be able to see it with a magnifying glass.

This is the way the card looks when it is closed.  A piece of Basic White card stock is cropped using a die from the Scalloped Contour Dies for the two birdhouses from the Stampin’ Up! Garden Birdhouses stamp set.  One is stamped in Crushed Curry ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock, the other is stamped using Night of Navy ink stamped off once.  They are fussy cut and popped on the Basic White cropped panel.  Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels are popped on the birdhouses.  Amazing how all look a different color, I guess that is why they are called Iridescent.

This diagram is compliments of Mary Deatherage.  Click on her name and you will be taken to her blog to see her card.

My card base is Soft Suede card stock cut at 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″.  I scored along the long side.  Score at 2-1/8″, 4-1/4″, and 6-3/8″ using a Paper Trimmer.  I then turned it to the short side and cut from the first score lines 1-1/2″ from the card edge down to the third score line.  I turned the card and did the same on the other end of the card cutting from 1-1/2″ from the card edge.

Mats are cut from Night of Navy card stock.  The large one that is the mat for the art piece is cropped using a die from the Scallop Contour Dies.  The DSPs are Ring of Love DSP, a free Sale-A-Bration item with a $50 purchase, available July 1.

The music notes are from the Stampin’ Up! Sweet Songbirds stamp set.  They are stamped in Night of Navy ink around the card.

The sentiments are from the Stampin’ Up! Through It Together stamp set and are stamped in Night of Navy ink on Basic White card stock and cropped using dies from the Stylish Shapes Dies.

This is the way the card looks when it is open and standing.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of Rings of Love DSP applied to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
