Stampin’ Up! Share What You Love
Happy Wednesday everyone and Welcome to my blog!
The card today is created using Stampin’ Up! Share What You Love Stamp Set. I made this card a one or so ago, but never found a challenge that was suitable for it. So thank you Make My Monday and Alphabet Challenge for having one with poppies as the theme. I know I saw a version of this card someplace, maybe from a blog post or Pinterest so if you are that person thank you, but I can not recall your name. I do remember it was a beautiful card and I wanted to make one like it.
The challenge… the theme Poppies…
And this one… Alphabet Challenge — P for Poppies or Pumpkins — I chose poppies.
Poppies come in colors other than red! Did you know that? I wanted to make my poppies purple so I researched to see if there was such a thing as a purple poppy and this is what I found. Put purple poppies in search and you will be amazed!🙂
The card base is Stampin’ Up! Whisper White card stock that is stamped in Stampin’ Up! Smoky Slate ink using the Stampin’ Up! Crackle Stamp. A Stampin’ Up! Highland Heather card stock mat is embossed using the Stampin’ Up! Subtle Embossing Folder. The art piece is a panel of Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake card stock stamped using the Crackle Stamp and Crumb Cake ink. Before stamping the Crackle stamp over the panel, the poppies were stamped using Tuxedo Memento Black ink and colored using Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Blends in Light and Dark Highland Heather and Light Old Olive.
Once they were colored a mask was placed over the poppies so the Crackle Stamp could be used and not cover the poppies. Three hearts were stamped but it has been so long I forget the stamp set, but you can use any stamp set that has a small heart stamp. Stampin’ Up! Gingham Gala Adhesive Back Sequins are randomly popped over the art piece. A small double loop bow is made using Stampin’ Up! Linen Thread and popped on the stem of the flowers. The greeting from the Stampin’ Up! Very Versailles Stamp Set is stamped in Highland Heather ink.
The sentiment panel is a panel of Stampin’ Up! Highland Heather card stock and the sentiment is from Very Versailles and stamped in Highland Heather ink on the panel of Highland Heather card stock.
Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself.

Ink To Be Discontinued Permanently
Stampin’ Up! provided us with an update about Purple Posy Inks. Despite their efforts to resolve issues with Purple Posy ink, they’ve learned that the ink color is still shifting over time.
All of Stampin’ Up!’s exclusive ink colors are run through a vigorous series of tests to get ahead of challenges like this, and to ensure colors are accurate and meet our standards of coordination. Purple Posy DID pass regular testing standards in time-simulating ovens, but they’ve now identified that it fell short when it came to actual time passing. The color begins to shift once the ink has rested in the ink pad for about six weeks.
This means that the color isn’t coordinating with our other colors as strictly as SU! requires. Due to these ongoing challenges, they’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue Purple Posy classic ink as of November 5, 2019. The following items will no longer be available to purchase:
- Purple Posy Classic Stampin’ Pad (item 150084)
- Purple Posy Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill (item 150091)
- 2019–2021 In Color Classic Stampin’ Pad Assortment (item 150087)
All other Purple Posy products (such as Purple Posy Stampin’ Write Marker, Purple Posy Cardstock, Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends, etc.) will remain available for purchase.
So – I know this is disappointing to many of you – but…I am actually pleased that SU! is taking this step. One of the major draws of Stampin’ Up! products is the color coordination across the different products. We can count on things matching up as we create! And if Purple Posy isn’t “matching up” – then….this is the right thing to do!
Already purchased the ink pad a refill? While Stampin’ Up! can’t replace Purple Posy ink pads for customers who’ve already received them, anyone with concerns regarding the color shifting properties of their Purple Posy ink pads may contact Demonstrator Support and receive a $7.50 coupon code as compensation. The coupon codes will expire on January 1, 2020.
