Amy’s Inkin’ Krew October Blog Hop–“Giving Thanks”
Welcome! It’s that time — what time is that you ask! Time for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop. Our theme for October is “Giving Thanks”. It is on the second Tuesday of each month. You can always find a group of talented ladies that make up a part of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew. Be sure you check out each person’s blog, you will find much talent and inspiration. The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up! Colorful Seasons Stamp Set. I have had this set for a good long time and have only used it once or twice. While making this card, I realize this is a set that can be used for a variety of cards. The card base is Stampin’ Up! Pretty Peacock card stock. The Stampin’ Up! Whisper White card stock panel is embossed using the Stampin’ Up! Subtle Embossing Folder. This being a blog hop I am listing my card challenges at the bottom of this section.
Before embossing the tree from the Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set was stamped in the center of the panel along with the greeting. Here is where I made a goof. I should have done the color wash and then stamped, but I stamped and then did the wash, so the ink on the trees and the greeting smeared and I thought I had destroyed the entire card and would have to start over as all the leaves had been popped on.
I found a remedy, don’t we always come up with something to cover a boo-boo? I did my color wash on a thick piece of card stock, dried with the heat tool, then stamped my tree. I fussy cut the piece and adhered it over the goof-up. You can barely tell it is there as most of the edges fit under the leaves. If I had not told you would have probably thought I meant to do the tree that way.
I’m ahead of the process though—I colored a panel of Whisper White thick card stock using different ink colors. You can see from the picture, where I stamped each other on my glass mat and then spritzed each color as I put the card stock over it to absorb the color. You can also tell by the color of the leaves and the envelope flap that I did not have enough on the first coloring so the second coloring is a bit different in color, even with using the same ink colors.
The leaves are popped on the Whisper White embossed panel using Stampin’ Up! Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. The greeting is from Stampin’ Up! Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set.
The inside sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Country Home Stamp Set is stamped in ‘Stampin’ Up! Pretty Peacock ink. An image from the Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set is stamped in the lower corner of the sentiment panel.

My challenges for today are with the Inkspiration Photo Challenge. All the colors of the pebbles in the water reminds me of the many colors of leaves in the Fall.
The Library Craft Challenge. The book is The Secret Garden. The bare trees make me think of how dead everything in the garden was and how it flourished with love and care then the beauty returned, just as Autumn leaves are beautiful with their many colors in the Fall.

A New Suite is Coming Soon!
It’s called the Christmas Time is Here Suite and it’s pretty amazing! just look at that DSP, isn’t it gorgeous and here’s hoping the die fits the rose on the DSP! Card Cuts:
- Pretty Peacock card stock — card base — 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored and folded at 5-1/2″
- Whisper White card stock — background panel — 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″; inside sentiment panel– 3-3/4″ x 5″; colored panels for leaves and envelope — 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
The butterflies were stamped in Stampin’ Up! Melon Mambo ink and Coastal Cabana ink. The black butterfly was stamped using Tuxedo Memento Black ink. I stamped an extra black one, fussy cut it and then popped it on the black butterfly with a Glue Dot. Using the Pinewoods Plank Embossing Folder gives the impression the flowers and butterflies are on a fence.
My card today is simple. If you learned to cut in kindergarten then you can make this card. You know there is a book out there titled, ” All I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten.”😊 The card is all cutting except the greeting and sentiment. It is created using Stampin’ Up! Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP) and Stampin’ Up! Mossy Meadow and Petal Pink card stock. You can see the card cuts at the end of this post.
My card for today is from Stampin’ Up! Path of Petals Stamp Set. It receives a bit of help from Stampin Up! Waterfront Stamp Set and Stampin’ Up! Colorful Seasons Stamp Set. To me, this is not my usual card style, design or whatever you want to call it.
A greeting from the Stampin’ Up! Colorful Seasons Stamp Set is stamped on a scrap of Stampin’ Up! Pear Pizzazz card stock flagged at each end and popped onto a banner created using Stampin’ Up! Soft Seafoam card stock.
The inside sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Path of Petals Stamp Set and is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink on a Stampin’ Up! Whisper White card stock that is matted on a panel of Stampin’ Up! Pear Pizzazz card stock then adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
