Stampin with Shirley G

After the death of our son, my husband having a TIA and scaring me so,  both of us having a respiratory infection and now my husband’s favorite, mine also, is on her way to heaven.  She is 100, will be 101 in December.  We can’t go see her because of our sickness, so I am happy to be able to finally make a card and blog. It has taken me a few days to get this finished but I was at least giving it a go.

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Earthen Textures Stamp Set and Dies.  The greeting is from the same stamp set.  The sentiments are from Stampin’ Up! Scenic Wonders Stamp Set and Stampin’ Up! Wildlife Wonder Stamp Set.

I am entering Creative Creases Challenge for this card.  They are always a fun fold and my card is a fun fold.

I started with a 5-1/4″ x 8-3/4″ piece of Pretty Peacock card stock.  I scored at 3-1/2″ and 5-1/4″.  On the left side come in 1-3/4″ from the edge of the card stock and score down 1-3/4″.  The card stock around so the lower right corner of the card stock is now on the top left, come in 1-3/4″ and scorn down 1-3/4″  The score line will be almost all the way to the 3″ x 3″ card.  I find it easier to score by adhering the 3″ x 3″ card and the 3″ x 3″ mat before scoring.

I used Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper for my 1-3/4″ squares.  I embossed the squared using Timber 3D Embossing Folder.  I also embossed the  2-7/8″ square.

I stamped in Crumb Cake ink the greeting and sentiments on  Earthen Elegance Designer Series paper along with the  wispy branches.

I die cut the Xs  and some of the branches in the urns from Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper.  The urns are die cut from Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper and Masterfully Made Designer Series Paper.  Part of one urn is stamped with Pretty Peacock ink on a piece of the Earthen Elegance Designer Series Paper.

This is how the card looks when it is finished and standing.  Sequins from Adhesive Backed Sequins Trio are popped around the card.  Pictures of this card doesn’t show the real beauty of it.  I have had that happen several times, when a picture is not beautiful like the card.

I added two panel on the back of the card in case I want to write a longer message than would fit on the 3″ card on the front.

I stamped in Crumb Cake in the wispy branches from Stampin’ Up! Earthen Texture Stamp Set on the square envelope flap.
