Stampin’ Up! Marigold Moments — Thinking of You

Stampin’ Up! Marigold Moments — Thinking of You

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Marigold Moments stamp set (this set retires soon).  I also used the coordinating dies, Marigold Moment Dies.  I used Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Thistle stamp set for the greeting.

I am entering Use Your Stuff Challenge.  Their theme for this challenge is Layers and I have many layers on my card.

I started with a Fresh Freesia card stock card base.  I stamped on Basic White card stock the large image of flowers from Stampin’ Up! Marigold Moments stamp set using Fresh Freesia and Blackberry Bliss inks. I decided these flowers would be Carnations instead of Marigolds (even if Marigolds are good for a border around your garden to keep insects away) because I like the color of Carnations better than the orange & gold of Marigolds.  I die cut the flowers using a die from Marigold Moments Dies.

From a piece of Fresh Freesia card stock I die cut the two scallop trim pieces.  I did not realize until I had die cut that there were two designs on the one skinny little die.  It made for a great design.  I layers these two pieces of trim on Blackberry Bliss card stock and adhered the panel to the Fresh Freesia card base.  I stamped a greeting in Blackberry Bliss ink on a piece of Fresh Freesia card stock cropping using a die from Stitched Rectangle Dies (soon retiring). I popped the greeting across the bottom of my Carnations using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  I added a few Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front. I like these gems, they seem to take on the color of whatever color you pop them on.

For the inside I die cut the trip from Blackberry Bliss card stock adhering to a piece of Fresh Freesia card stock. I then stamped the Mother’s Day sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Marigold Moments stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink on the Fresh Freesia panel. The panel is then adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  I also added two Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to this panel.

Using a different stamp from Stampin’ Up! Marigold Moments stamp set, I stamped on a Basic White envelope flap the smaller Carnation in Fresh Freesia and Blackberry Bliss ink.  I stamped the leave in Shaded Spruce ink.

Stampin’ Up! Nested Friends — Thinking of You

Stampin’ Up! Nested Friends — Thinking of You

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Nested Friends stamp set.  I also used Stampin’ Up! Seasons of Chic stamp set and Stampin’ Up! Garden Birdhouses stamp set for sentiments, and Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper.

I am entering Seize The Birthday Challenge — Their theme for this challenge is alcohol, not the kind you drink, the kind that you have in alcohol markers.  My bird nest, leaves and berries are colored using Stampin’ Blends Markers which is Stampin’ Up!‘s alcohol markers.

I started with a Basic White card stock card base. This is a single layer card.  I stamped the nest from Stampin’ Up! Nested Friends stamp set.  You can see from the photo above the placement of the nest stamp on the front of the card.  After stamping using the die from Nested Friends Dies that cuts the nest out. Place the edge of the cutting plate across the die at the point I have marked in the above photo. You can see from the placement of the die how much of the nest is die cut.  See the photo below for how the nest looks after cutting.  My card is a CAS of one Dawn Griffith made. She made three different ones so you just may see another of her cards from this same video in the near future.  You can see her YouTube video of this card and the other two she made by clicking here.  These days I have to find someone I can CAS, my brain is so full and overly tired that I can’t think of what to create.  I have been working on a special card for someone for almost a month now, I get the card finally finished after stamping the parts 6 different times to get it right and now I have to start over, I put it together backward, so see how my poor brain is working.

You can see in this photo how the bird nest looks after being partially die cut.  I stamped one of the greetings from Stampin’ Up! Nested Friends stamp set on the front of the card in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink.  Using Balmy Blue ink, I stamped the dots around the card front stamping off twice before stamping on the card.

I colored the nest using a Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blends Marker. To color the bird, I use Balmy Blue and Blushing Bride Stampin’ Blends Markers.  The leaves are colored using Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends Markers.  The berries are colored in Polish Pink Stampin’ BlendsBrushed Brass Butterflies are popped around the card front.

A piece of Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper (soon to be retired) is adhered at the bottom of the panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The bird nest rest on this panel when the card is closed.  Sentiments are stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink using stamps from Stampin’ Up! Garden Birdhouses stamp set and Stampin’ Up! Seasons of Chic stamp set.  Brush Brass Butterflies are also popped on the inside panel.

Basic White medium envelope gets a piece of Pretty Prints Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap.

Stampin’ Up! Irresistible Blooms

Stampin’ Up! Irresistible Blooms

The card I am sharing with you today is created using Stampin’ Up! Irresistible Blooms stamp set, Stripes & Splatters 3D Embossing Folder, and Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper.  This is a CAS of Lisa Curcio’s fun fold card.  I would suggest watching Lisa’s YouTube video for great instructions.

I am entering Four Seasons Challenge — This is the time of year for their challenge to be Spring Anything Goes.

I am also entering Pammie’s Inkie Pinkies Challenge.

I am also entering the Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  I am choosing the middle row down.

I stamped the flowers on a piece of Shimmery White card stock using Merry Merlot ink, then Versa Mark and Clear Embossing Powder.  I heat embossed using a heat tool.  I then fussy cut the flowers and colored using Merry Merlot ink.  There are flowers here and inside the card.  The leaves are stamped in Pear Pizzazz ink (soon to be retired). I die-cut a heart from Basic White card stock, embossing using the Splatters die from Stripes and Splatters 3-D Embossing Folders.  I put Stampin’ Seal on the back of the heart and wrapped the scalloped piece of Merry Merlot around the heart.  Oh! yes, it was such fun trying to do that so it would not crinkle up. Iridescent Rhinestone Jewels are popped around the card front.

My card base is Merry Merlot card stock (soon to be retired).  I am giving the card cuts here instead of at the end of the post so you will know what to cut to make it easier.  If you want mats for the Designer Series Paper cut the Designer Series Paper 1/8″ smaller than the dimensions I give to be able to cut a mat.

  • Card Base — 5-1/2″ x 11″   score at 4″ & 8-1/16″ that’s correct 1/16.  It is the first mark  8″.
    • Designer Series Paper left side front — 2-3/4″ x 5-3/8″
    • Designer Series Paper inside middle — 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″
  • Card — 4-1/2″ x 7″  score at 3-1/2″
    • Designer Series Paper — 3-3/8″ x 4-3/8″
    • Inside Panel for sentiment — 2-5/8″ x 3-3/4″
  • Panel for Pocket
    • Merry Merlot card stock — 3-3/8″ x 4-7/8″
    • Designer Series Paper — 3-1/4″ x 4-3/4″

Adhere a piece of Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper to the outside left.  This panel will be folded in.

The card base is 5-1/2″ x 11″ scored at 4″ and 8-1/16″, once scored turn the card base around so the narrow panel is on the left.  This is the panel above that you adhered Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper.  Fold the right side panel in and put glue on the outside edge and along the bottom. Fold this panel in adhering to the middle panel.  You can see the Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper behind the small card that is adhered after you adhere to the middle panel. After adhering the Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper, adhere the small Merry Merlot card stock card using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A piece of Merry Merlot is cut and a piece of Awash in Beauty is adhered to it using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  One of the flowers is adhered to the corner of the piece.  This is the insert for the pocket. You can use to adhere a gift card or even write a note as this is what this one will be.

Basic White medium envelope gets a piece of Awash in Beauty Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap.

Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments — Hey There

Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments — Hey There

I am using Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments stamp set, Timbers 3-D Embossing Folder, and Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper to create the card I am sharing today.

I am entering the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge for this card.  Their theme is Spring and I believe the flowers on my card are springy.

  1. Start with a 4-1/4″ x 11″ Basic White card stock card base.  Cut 3-1/4″ off the bottom of the card front.  From the piece cut off, cut five 1/2″ x 4-1/4″ strips.  Cut the strip that is left in half, this gives you two strips that will be used to anchor the other strips together.
  2.   With the sticky side out adhere a piece of Washi Tape to the middle of the card front so you can position the strips on the card front.
  3. Start at the bottom for the first strip, next place a strip at the top, leaving a space between the strip and the card base.  Place a strip in the middle.
  4. Wait until you have all the strips positioned before pressing down on the tape. If you need to adjust the space between the strips it will be easier to do if they are not stuck tight to the Washi Tape.
  5. Place a dot of Liquid Glue on both sides on each strip .  Adhere the two narrow strips, one to each side of the lattice.   I waited until I had both strips in place so I could adjust if necessary.
  6. Turn the card base over so the Washi Tape is showing and gently remove the tape. Pressing down on each strip as you pull the tape will help prevent tearing the card stock.
  7. This is how the card front looks after you have finished with all the strips and trimming the excess from the bottom of the card.
  8. Cut a piece of a window sheet 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ and adhered to the inside of the lattice front.  I did this for stability. I did not do this on other cards I made. You can see a fun fold I made using this technique here.

I fussy cut flowers from Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper (soon to be retired). I die cut two vines from Mossy Meadow card stock using a die from Dainty Flower Dies. A butterfly is die cut from a scrap of Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper using a die from Brilliant Wings Dies (soon to be retired).

I arranged the two vines die cut from the Mossy Meadow card stock on the card front starting at the bottom right corner.  I layered the fussy cut flowers from Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper over the vines.  After I had them arranged the way I wanted, I took a picture so I could remember placement when I adhered them to the card from.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the vines and Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the flowers over the vines.

I added the Brilliant Wings butterfly to the right side of the lattice then stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock a greeting using a stamp from Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments stamp set. Add three Iridescent Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card front, placing one on the butterfly.

I stamped a sentiment in Gorgeous Grape ink using a die from Stampin’ Up! Charming Sentiments stamp set.  Around the sentiment, I adhered a Mossy Meadow vine and flowers fussy cut from Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper.  I adhered two larger flowers to the bottom of the lattice over the window sheet using Glue Dots.  I also used Glue Dots adhering the flowers over the vine.

Basic White medium envelope gets a piece of Hues of Happiness Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap.

Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin 10 Years of Growth

Stampin’ Up! Paper Pumpkin 10 Years of Growth

Happy Easter everyone, I hope you have had a blessed day.

Today I am sharing four of the cards I created using March 2023 Paper Pumpkin, 10 Years of Growth.  I did a littler altering of the four cards I am showing, I have more to make and will show at a later date.

I used an Orchid Oasis card stock card base.  I cut the card into two pieces adhering the card front to the Orchid Oasis card base.  Adding an Orchid Oasis card base is about the only thing I did to this card other than adding sequins to the front.

I gave this one an Orchid Oasis card base also.  This one is an anniversary card.

This one has a Shaded Spruce card base.  I created the front to look as if you are looking out a window with curtains. I added a linen bow on each side of the curtains using Linen Thread.

This card has a Polished Pink card base. I turned the background panel vertically instead of horizontally as in the directions with Paper Pumpkin.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself. Feel free to CAS(E) any card. Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me.
