Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts

Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts

The card I am sharing today is created using the Peaceful Place DSP and the Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.

The sketch challenge with Tuesday Morning Sketches is my inspiration for this card.

This is a simple card to make, also easy, and took only a short while to put the pieces together.  It was all cutting and embossing except for the greeting from the Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.

The card base is Smoky Slate card stock with a panel of Basic Black card stock embossed using a Stitched With Whimsy Die and popped on the card base after the other layers are added. A panel of Peaceful Place DSP is adhered over the Basic Black panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

From a different panel of the Peaceful Place DSP a square of the DSP is cut and then embossed using a small die from the Stitched With Whimsy Dies.  This small square is matted on a square of Basic Black and popped on the plaid panel using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A length of Real Red Sheer Ribbon is placed behind the panel before it is popped on the plaid panel.  Cute Star Sequins are popped around the trees.

Another panel of the Peaceful Place DSP is cut and a little of it is fussy cut before being matted onto a Basic Black mat.  It is then adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A sentiment will be added later.

A medium Basic White envelope gets a panel of the plaid DSP from the Peaceful Place DSP adhered to the envelope flap.

If you would like to create this card all the products used and the card cuts are at the end of this post.

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew December Blog Hop– “Celebrate”

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew December Blog Hop– “Celebrate”

Happy Tuesday everyone!  How has the weather been where you are?  Here in Georgia we have had rain, rain, rain and more rain.  We have a wedding this week-end and it is outside, so here’s to hoping that the weather is good, at least no rain.

It’s that time again for our team blog hop.  Be sure to check out all the blogs, this is a talented group and you will find lots of inspiration.  Our theme for the month is “Celebrate”.  We do have lots to celebrate this month–4 family birthdays, a wedding, Christmas, 3 friends birthdays, one being one of our team member Linda Richenberg.  Enough chatter, let’s get on with the hop!

I have been seeing these one sheet wonders that people are making, and of course, I wondered how many cards can I get out of one 12″ x 12″ piece of DSP, so that is what you are seeing today One Sheet Wonders.  I even have a strip that I didn’t get cards made and will do so later, so I can say I used the entire piece of DSP.

You can see the individual cards at the bottom of the post after the listing of the blog participants.  It was fun making these cards.  I have put the measurement of the DSP used for each card with the card.  You can see the piece I had left after making 11 cards.    Now that I have done this, I have to try it again with a different DSP and different designs.  Many of the design layouts are very similar  but it means I used a larger piece of paper for those cards.

Have fun as you hop on over to visit the rest of the Krew’s blogs and see what a bunch of talented ladies they are. It will be worth your while. Clicking on the  “Next” button will take you to Sue Prather  and the”Previous” button will take you to Karen Ksenzakovic . You can also click on the individual names.

Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods

Stampin’ Up! Winter Woods

Happy Saturday!  Do you have fun Christmas shopping planned or just a relaxing week-end?  Whatever you have planned, stay dry.  The weather outside is terrible.  Almost to bad to venture out in it.

I am using the Winter Woods stamp bundle and the Nature Sings stamp set for my card today.

The theme for my card is from Global Design Projec #GDp167 ‘Tis The Season.  It is truly the best time of the year for me anyway, I love celebrating Christmas.

There is very little instructions for this card as it is so easy.  The base is Shaded Spruce cut 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″.  The next layer is Whisper White card stock that has been cut 4″ x 5-1/4″.  This panel first has a tree cut from it using the Winter Woods bundle. It is then embossed using the Softly Falling TIEF. The negative space from the cut  has a green panel of All is Bright glued behind it to make the green tree.   The  Whisper White tree is popped on the Whisper White panel with Stampin Dimensionals.

The greeting from the Nature Sings stamp set  is stamped in Shaded Spruce ink on a scrap of Whisper White and cut out with Paper Snips, highlighted with Shaded Spruce ink and popped on the Whisper White panel using Mini Stampin Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is stamped on a panel of Whisper White using Shaded Spruce ink. It, also, is from the Nature Sings stamp set.  A tree has been cut from the Whisper White panel to reveal the green to give the appearance of a tree.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope  you like my simple easy card and will give it a try.  Any questions, give me an email.  As always my wish is that you find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.
