Geared Up Garage

Geared Up Garage

I the this is a fun card as it brings back memories of drag racing as a teenager.  My card today is created using the Geared Up Garage stamp set and the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies.

My inspirations for today’s card comes from the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge.

My sketch design comes from the MFTWSC425 Challenge.

Instructions for card:

  1. Card base – Real Red card stock
  2. A focal mat from the Classic Garage 6″ x  6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP)
  3. A 1-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ strip cut from another panel of the Classic Garage DSP
  4. A 3-3/8″ x 1-7/8″ rectangle cut from the same panel of DSP as the above strip.
  5. The strip, rectangle and focal panel have all been embossed using the Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF)
  6. Mat the strip and rectangle DSP using Real Red card stock.
  7. Stamp the car on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock using Tuxedo Memento Black In.
  8. Color the car using  Stampin’ Blends pens in Light and Dark Real Red and a Smokey Slate Stampin’ Write Marker.
  9. Pop the car on the rectangle using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  10. Using the Garage Gears Thinlits Dies cut the gears from a panel of the Classic Garage  DSP.
  11. Adhere them to the gray strip that looks like asphalt using Liquid Glue.
  12. Using Liquid Glue adhere the strip and rectangle to the focal panel.
  13. Stamp the greeting on a Crushed Curry scrap from the Classic Garage DSP.
  14. Cut the greeting to 1/2″ x 3″ size.
  15. Using your Paper Snips cut into a banner on one end of the strip.
  16. Pop under the car using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  17. The inside sentiment panel is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock using a stamp from the Hello Cupcake stamp set.
  18. The Garage Gears Thinlits Dies are used again to cut the gears for the sentiment panel
  19. The gears are adhered using Liquid Glue.

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you like my card and somehow find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.  Have a bless day!

By the Bay

By the Bay

Today’s card is from a FREEBIE stamp set that you can earn with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration.  It is the By The Bay stamp set.

My inspiration comes from the TGIF Challenge  Sale-A-Bration

My card starts with a Granny Apple Green card base with a Blueberry Bushel focal panel that has been embossed with the Seaside Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (TIEF).  The art piece from the stamp set By The Bay is a 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″ square that is stamped using Tuxedo Memento Black Ink.  It is then colored using watercolor pencils and an Aqua Painter.  The watercolor pencils used are Balmy Blue, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Old Olive, Granny Apple Green, Real Red, and Early Expresso.  After finishing coloring a 2″ x 2″ square is cut from the art piece using the Layering Square Framelits.  The piece with the square cut out is adhered to the focal using Liquid Glue, then the 2″ square is popped back into the place it was cut from.  This is a technique Amy Koenders showed us, so I am CAS(E)ing what she showed us.  Thanks Amy. Linen Thread is wrapped three times around the Blueberry Bushel focal panel and tied in a knot.  The greeting stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink is from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set.  It seems I have used that stamp set a lot lately.  It is then cut using a Layering Oval Framelits Dies.  Since everything that needs to be on the Blueberry Bushel focal panel is finished, it is then popped on the Granny Apple Green card base.

The inside sentiment from Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set, I used it again, is stamped in Blueberry Bushel on a panel of Whisper White.  The birds are stamped in Blueberry Bushel that has been stamped off once and then stamped on the panel.  The panel is adhered using Liquid Glue.

Thanks for stopping by.  My wish for you is that you find encouragement and inspiration always from the cards I create.

Floral Romance – It’s Sure To Be A Fun Day

Floral Romance – It’s Sure To Be A Fun Day

I used the Floral Romance DSP and the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set to create the card I am sharing today.  It was easy, as you will see, card to create.

The sketch design and inspiration comes from the As You See It Challenge for this week.

The card starts with a Blackberry Bliss base.  There is a Blackberry Bliss mat also.  It has been embossed using the Lace Dynamic  Textured  Impressions Embossing Folder.  A Whisper White mat has been cut for the Floral Romance DSP panel that is the focal point of the card.  This panel is adhered to the Whisper White panel using Liquid Glue and then adhered to the Blackberry Bliss embossed panel again using Liquid Glue.  A  Whisper White label is cut using one of the dies from the Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies. The greeting from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set is stamped on the label using Blackberry Bliss Ink.  Blackberry Bliss Nature’s Twine is wound through the cut-outs on the label and tied in a bow.  A few leaves are cut using the dies in the Wonderful Floral Framelits Dies and adhered behind the label with Glue Dots.  The embossed Blackberry Bliss panel is now popped on the card base using Stampin Dimensionals.  The card front is now finished and on to the inside sentiment.

The inside sentiment from the Itty Bitty Birthday stamp set is stamped in Blackberry Bliss on a panel of Whisper White.  A die from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits is placed on the sentiment panel and put through the Big Shot.  This dies gives the panel a bit of texture.

That’s my card for today, hope you like it and found it encouraging and inspirational for your creations.

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew December Blog Hop– “Celebrate”

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew December Blog Hop– “Celebrate”

Happy Tuesday everyone!  How has the weather been where you are?  Here in Georgia we have had rain, rain, rain and more rain.  We have a wedding this week-end and it is outside, so here’s to hoping that the weather is good, at least no rain.

It’s that time again for our team blog hop.  Be sure to check out all the blogs, this is a talented group and you will find lots of inspiration.  Our theme for the month is “Celebrate”.  We do have lots to celebrate this month–4 family birthdays, a wedding, Christmas, 3 friends birthdays, one being one of our team member Linda Richenberg.  Enough chatter, let’s get on with the hop!

I have been seeing these one sheet wonders that people are making, and of course, I wondered how many cards can I get out of one 12″ x 12″ piece of DSP, so that is what you are seeing today One Sheet Wonders.  I even have a strip that I didn’t get cards made and will do so later, so I can say I used the entire piece of DSP.

You can see the individual cards at the bottom of the post after the listing of the blog participants.  It was fun making these cards.  I have put the measurement of the DSP used for each card with the card.  You can see the piece I had left after making 11 cards.    Now that I have done this, I have to try it again with a different DSP and different designs.  Many of the design layouts are very similar  but it means I used a larger piece of paper for those cards.

Have fun as you hop on over to visit the rest of the Krew’s blogs and see what a bunch of talented ladies they are. It will be worth your while. Clicking on the  “Next” button will take you to Sue Prather  and the”Previous” button will take you to Karen Ksenzakovic . You can also click on the individual names.

Stampin’ Up! Buffalo Checks

Stampin’ Up! Buffalo Checks

Welcome, here it is Wednesday and  the week-end is on the way.  As red is one of my favorite colors, the other being purple, I will love doing this  As You See It Challenge.

This was a fast and easy card, but pretty  from my point of view.  I guess you could say that is in the eye of the beholder.

The Buffalo Check Stamp Pad was used in making this card.  The Stamparatus was used so that it could be stamped as many times as necessary to get the depth of color  desired.  The stamp was inked with  Memento Black in and stamped on a 5-1/4″ x 4″ panel of Cherry Cobbler.

The log panel at the top is from the Wood Texture DSP. It was fussy cut and adhered with Liquid   Glue.  The antlers were cut from the Night Owl Thinlits Dies also using a panel of Wood Texture DSP.  It is a tree limb, but turned the right direction it can look like antlers.  A length of Linen Thread was wrapped around the Buffalo Check panel twice and tied in a knot.

The greeting is cut using a scalloped oval die and stamped with a branches stamp from the Christmas Pines stamp set.  The “happy birthday is a stamp from an old Paper Pumpkin that I cut in two pieces so it would fit this  label.  It is  popped over the antlers with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is stamped using Cherry Cobbler ink on a panel of Whisper White and matted on a Cherry Cobbler panel.

As always my hope for you is that you found encouragement or inspiration for your own creative endeavors whatever they maybe.  Visit often.  Have a great day!
