Butterfly Gala

Have you ever had a day, where no matter how hard you are trying you just can’t seem to get a card created that is suitable?  Well, that was me today!  As you will see from my card, it is a simple easy as can be, but for some reason, I had a block and could not seem to make it work.

My design is from Sketch Saturday

My card starts with a Tranquil Tide (Tranquil Tide will be retiring as of June 4) card base.  Next is a Mosaic Mood DSP ( available June 4) mat that is cut to reveal a portion of the card base between the cuts.

Three squares are cut from Whisper White card stock to adhere the individual butterflies. A Tranquil Tide mat is cut for each.  After the butterflies are popped on the squares the squares are then popped onto the card front.  Rhinestone Basic Jewels are added to each butterfly.  A greeting is stamped in Tranquil Tide ink on a scrap of Whisper White.   Just one more thing to add to my day, I did not write down which stamp set the Hello is from so I can not remember.  You can use any stamp set that has a hello stamp if you should choose to make this card.

The inside sentiment is stamped in Tranquil Tide ink on a panel of Whisper White.  Three butterflies are adhered using Liquid Glue.

Thank you for stopping by.  My wish is that you have a blessed day and find encouragement or inspiration for your own creations.

Well Said with All My Love and Butterfly Gala

Well Said with All My Love and Butterfly Gala

My card today focuses on the stamp sets,  Butterfly Gala and Part of My Story. I have also used All My Love Designer Specialty Paper (DSP).

The inspiration and design for my card come from the TGIF Challenge, thank you TGIF for showcasing all the beautiful Designer Specialty Paper. I am also playing along at Sunday Stamps. The colors for Sundays Stamps are gorgeous and I was happy to find the challenge appeared in my inbox before I got this posted so that I could include it.

The card base is Lovely Lipstick.

The next layer is a panel of Whisper White card stock cut using the largest of the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies. This is the mat for the panels of All My Love DSP

A 2-1/8″ x 3-1/2″ panel of the red stripe DSP from All My Love DSP is cut and attached to the Whisper White panel.

Two 1-7/8″ x 3-1/8″ panels from the All My Love DSP
are cut using the Rectangle Stitched Framelits Dies They are adhered to the red DSP panel using Liquid Glue

A small doily is cut using the Doily Builder Thinlits Dies. I put glue on a small square of sponge and smeared it around the back of the doily. I find this the easiest way to adhere an intricate piece when you forget to use the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. The heart in the middle of the doily is fussy cut from one of the scraps from the All My Love DSP and popped on using a Stampin’ Dimensional.  The greeting is from Butterfly Gala stamp set

The inside sentiment is from the stamp set Part of My Story. The hearts are stamped in Lovely Lipstick and are from the Forever Lovely stamp set. The pink heart is cut free-hand using a square of the All My Love DSP.

That’s it for today. I hope you like my card and that you find inspiration and encouragement for your own creations.

Butterfly Gala and Climbing Roses

Butterfly Gala and Climbing Roses

Is there a rush on at your home with Christmas being tomorrow ?  I was at the grocery store yesterday and kept hearing comments of how tired I am.  People rush and hurry getting everything to perfection or so they think, only to end up so tired they can not enjoy the day when it arrives.  Even when I was a little girl, I can remember my grandmother and aunt hurrying about sewing dresses,  crocheting scarves and most of all baking.  I can remember my grandmother and aunt baking at least 20 cakes each, and to think they were all eaten during the Christmas festivities.  People were always dropping in to visit and it was cake and coffee for everyone.  Can you imagine baking 20 cakes in just a few days before Christmas.  I can remember they were always moist and delicious.  Another aunt, made a chocolate cake with black walnuts that is the most delicious cake you will ever eat.  I think it must have been a tradition in the community to see who could bake the most cakes so they could tell it on Sunday at church.

Well, I truly hope everyone is ready and relax a bit on Christmas Eve.  Christmas at our house is today as my daughter-in-law is a nurse and it is her year to work on Christmas Day.  Wonder how many Christmas babies she will have.

I am playing along at Try Stampin On Tuesday Challenge 388.

Incredible Like You

Incredible Like You

Welcome!

Three days until Christmas! Are you all ready!  This person hasn’t bought the first gift!  Haven’t had the time.  Is that a good excuse?  Enough of that on to the card for today.  I am  using Incredible Like You (available January 3, which isn’t too long), Butterfly Gala (also available January 3) and  Bunches of Blossoms from the Annual catalog.

I am playing along at Watercooler Wednesday “Anything Goes“.

The card is started with a Pear Pizzazz card base, then a Whisper White mat that has been embossed using the Pinewood Plank embossing folder, then adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A  panel of Basic Black card stock is cut for the mat to the art piece.  The art piece is stamped using Lovely Lipstick and Pear Pizzazz ink.  The flowers are a two step process and  from the stamp set Incredible Like You (available January 3), This technique is something I have never tried before.  It took me practice and three tries before I finally was able to think this piece was acceptable.  As always practice makes perfect, so I must try it again to see  the results.  You stamp the darkest color first or that is the way I did it and then you stamp the lightest color, stamping off once to make the color lighter.  The color is Lovely Lipstick, but to me it looks more like Cherry Cobbler.  The art piece is now adhered to the Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue and a length of Pear Pizzazz 3/8″ ribbon is wrapped around the art piece.  This is now adhered to the embossed panel using Liquid Glue. The greeting is stamped in Lovely Lipstick on a scrap of Whisper White, then cropped using the Layering Oval Framelits Dies. It is popped over the ribbon in the lower right corner of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A tiny butterfly is cut using one of the butterflies from the Butterfly Gala stamp set (available January  3). A pearl from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearl pack is glued to the butterfly. A Glue Dot is used to adhere to the card front.  Three pearls from the same pack are adhered to the upper right corner.

The inside sentiment is a big Happy Birthday stamped in Lovely Lipstick on a panel of Whisper White.

You can find the products used in creating this card along with the card cuts at the end of this post.  Thank you for stopping by, my wish as usual is for you to find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.
