Stampin’ Up! Paradise Palms Sending A Little Message

Stampin’ Up! Paradise Palms Sending A Little Message

The card I am sharing today is a combination of Stampin’ Up! Paradise Palms and Bottled Happiness Stamp Sets.

The Allsorts Challenge is always Anything Goes sometimes with an option. The option this time is Sun, Sea, and Sand

I am entering the NBUS challenge because I have not used the stamps used in creating this card.

Since I have a birthday card, I thought I would join Seize the Birthday at the last minute.

I started by creating my cloud panel. You can see how I did the clouds from the diagram above.

Again, I used sticky notes to create the ocean. You can see where the ocean meets the sky, I put a sticky note over the portion that would have clouds, then tore another one to create the sand.  The ocean between these two sticky notes was colored using Balmy Blue and Pacific Point ink.  Once that portion was colored, I used Crumb Cake and Soft Suede to create the sand and the sand mounds.  The clouds were done last and you can see the diagram as how they are created.

One of the bottle stamps from Stampin’ Up! Bottled Happiness stamp set is stamped in Starry Night ink on Vellum, allowed to dry, the cut in half to fit the bottle behind the sand mound.

I stamped my palm trees in Old Olive ink and used a Stampin’ Write Soft Suede pen to color the palm tree trunk.  I fussy cut after die cutting because I did not like the large white border around the edges.  Grass is cropped from a scrap of Old Olive card stock and popped over a sand mound. The palm tree, grass and sand mound are adhered used Mini Glue Dots and Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Bottled Happiness stamp set is stamped in Soft Suede onto the sand mound.  The mound is then popped over the bottle using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Several Basic White dots are colored using a Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Blends marker.  I used the one that is for the darkest skin tone.  These are popped at the foot of the tree in the grass and on the tree.  These are my version of coconuts.

My Basic White card stock cloud-created panel gets a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Paradise Palms stamp set stamped in Pacific Point ink, it is then matted on a panel of Balmy Blue card stock and adhered to the card base.

A Basic White medium envelope gets a panel of Flowering Fields DSP, retired, adhered to the envelope flap. This panel of DSP is clouds and is the right color so I used it instead of creating clouds on the envelope flap.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself. Feel free to CAS(E) any card. Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me. Have a blessed day!

  2. This is a really great beach scene Shirley with lots of dimension, and full of charm with the lovely palm trees and a half buried bottle in the sand, and a wonderful cloudy blue sky and flying birds and sentiment leading to the equally delightful cloudy sky inside with the lovely birthday greetings. Thank you for joining us at the NBUS Challenge this month. x
