Can It Be Your Birthday!

Can It Be Your Birthday!

Can’t believe the time has come for another Amy’s Inkin Krew Team Blog Hop, time flies when you are having fun, and we all know it is fun making cards.

I have to admit, I never liked Mint Macaron when we had it before and thought that I would never use it this time. I thought it would be one of those colors that you just let go by. To my surprise, I decided I love it after seeing Jo Hooper cards on The Crafty Crafter.  You can see that I have CASd one of her cards.  I found them lovely and it sure changed my mind about Mint Macaron.

Here’s the card.   Don’t ask me for measurements, other than the basic card base.  I guessed at measurements and did them the way I chose on the card, from the way Jo’s looks my measurement is definitely not the same.

I used the Love What You Do stamp set, paper from Share What You Love DSP, Linen Thread for the bow and the wrap around on the card.  I used a white Uniball pen to make the stitching around the card base.  I stamped the art piece with Mint Macaron and then Versa Mark and used Clear Embossing Powder to emboss.  I colored it using Mint Macron Stampin Pad and an Aqua Painter.

The sentiment inside is from the Pretty Kitty stamp set.  Stamped in Mint Macaron on a panel of Whisper White cardstock then matted on a panel of Mint Macaron which is glued to the Tranquil Tide base.

Lovely Floral- Celebrate

Lovely Floral- Celebrate

This is a really simple card.  A one-sheet wonder I suppose, as I only used half a sheet of card stock to make.

I used Whisper White card stock and using Stampin Up’s Lovely Floral  DTEIF,  I used Olive Olive, Blushing Bride, and Daffodil Delight Stampin Marks to color the embossing folder then put it through the Big Shot.  I wanted to see how this embossing folder would turn out coloring the folder before stamping.  Maybe it would be better to emboss then use an aqua painter and ink to color the flower.

I used a sponge and lightly sponged around the flower with Blushing Bride but it does not show up.

I stamped the sentiment and did not write it down as to the name and now I can’t find it among all my stamps.  I think I used three different stamps for it.

Celebrate The Good Stuff

Celebrate The Good Stuff

Here is my card for Freshly Made Sketches this week.

Here is my card.

I  started with a base of Bermuda Bay cardstock cut at 4-1/4 by 11 and scored at 5-1/2.

The black mats are 4-1/8 x 3-1/8 cut from Basic Black cardstock.

The panel of Whisper White and the Petal Passion DSP are cut 3 x4.

These are adhered to the black mats with liquid glue.

The Petal Passion DSP is popper over the panel of Whisper White with Stampin Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is a Whisper White panel cut 3-3/4 x 5.

The sentiment is stamped in Bermuda Bay ink from Stampin Up.

That it for now. Thanks for stopping by!  Come again to visit.  Your comments are welcomed.

Happy 80th

Happy 80th

These cards are for a dear friend, no pun intended, in Texas who will turn 80 on Saturday.  I made this one first but really didn’t like it.  I think it is too blah once a picture was taken of it.   I should have just stopped with it no matter how it looks, but being me I could not.

Stamp Set: Nature Sings and Balloon Adventure

Card Base: Crumb Cake – Cut 4 ¼ x 11. Scored at 5-1/2

Banner: Wood Texture DSP – Cut 4-1/2 x 1-1/2

Background on Card base: Stamped with Versa Mark using a stamp from Nature Sings

Mat for Large Deer: Basic Black Cardstock 3-1/4 x 3-1/4

Art Piece: Watercolor Paper 3 x 3

Dies: Stitched Layering and Circle Dies

Inside Sentiment: Balloon Adventure Stamp Set

####################

SINCE I DIDN’T LIKE THE FIRST CARD I THOUGHT I WOULD JUST MAKE A GENERIC CARD GOOD FOR ANYONE.

  1. Stamp Set: Balloon Adventure—Inside Sentiment
  2. Card base: Tranquil Tide– Cut 4 ¼ x 11. Scored at 5-1/2
  3. Mat: Melon Mambo Cardstock  —  cut 4 x 5-1/4
  4. Art Piece: From Picture Perfect Party DSP—cut 3-3/4 x 5
  5. Wink of Stella on the Flames of the Candles
  6. Happy Birthday Thinlits – One from Tranquil Tide, one from a scrap of another DSP—do not have the name, but you can use any coordinating DSP
  7. Inside decorations cut from Picture Perfect Party DSP—they look 3D when you look at the real thing.

Stay a bit longer, I made a third card and finally gave up trying to make the card I wanted that was in my brain, but I couldn’t get it out for some reason.

  1. Stamp Set: Balloon Adventure and Number of Years and Endless Birthday Wishes
  2. Card Base: Bermuda Bay – Cut 4-1/4 x 8-1/2. Scored at 4-1/4
  3. Whisper White Cardstock —  Cut 8-1/4 x 5-1/4  for Art Piece then scored in half at 4-1/8″. Die Cut using the largest of the dies from the Balloon Adventure Bundle, lining up the center of the die with the score line on your card, then run it through the Big Shot. The die cuts out the balloons, scores and embosses all at the same time.
  4. The balloons on the front were cut using the Balloon Adventure dies and the Balloon Punch from Stampin Up. They were cut from scraps of several different pieces of DSP. You can use what you have in your stash that you like.
  5. The happy birthday on the front is from a many year’s retired stamp set. I like the fonts of the set so use often.
  6. The 80 is cut using the numbers from the Number of Years Bundle.

The Inside panels are 2-1/4 by 5 cut from panels of 6×6  Picture Perfect Party DSP. The sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes.  The panel on the right is left to write a personal note.  If you have questions please call or email

It’s really hard to capture the fun of this pop-up die in a picture!  Again, looking at the real card instead of a picture, the balloons on the right and left panels look 3-D.

Well! that is it. I finally gave up and decided I needed to get this posted, no more card making.  I will probably end up making another as these are just not what I want.  Thanks for stopping by. Now on to the fabulous Nanette and her post for the day.

Happy Mother’s Day

Happy Mother’s Day

Two days until Easter and here I am making Mother’s Day cards.  For other people of course, as I lost my Mother last year.  There are still a lot of other mothers that I can make cards for.

My design is from The Paper Player Sketch Challenge 386.

I used the colored Berry Burst and Pear Pizzazz.  They are bright cheery colors for Mothers.

My card is the standard 4-1/4 x 5-1/2.

The mat is 4 x 5 cut from Whisper White.  This is embossed with the Layered Leaves TEIF.

I cut a circle from Berry Burst cardstock using a circle die.  The art piece is from the Birthday Blooms stamp set.  I colored the art piece using Berry Burst and Pear Pizzazz Stampin Write Markers.   I fussy cut this and popped it on the circle.

The greeting on the front is from the March Paper Pumpkin as is the sentiment inside. I used the Berry Burst Stamp Pad to stamp the greeting and the inside sentiment.  I used one of the embellishment from the Sweet Soiree Embellishment Kit on the inside sentiment.

That’s my card for today.  Come again another day!

HAPPY EASTER, HAPPY RESURRECTION DAY, HAPPY PASSOVER!
