Stampin’ Up! Layers Of Beauty – Thinking Of You

Stampin’ Up! Layers Of Beauty – Thinking Of You

The card I am sharing today, turned out to be a real beauty!  I think it is so beautiful and hope that you like it also.  I used Stampin’ Up! Layers Of Beauty Stamp Set for the main focal part.  The flowers turned out beautifully.  I used Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set for the greeting and Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Designs Stamp Set for the sentiment.

These are the card cut you will need to create this card:

  • Basic White cardstock
    • card base — 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″  score at 4-1/4″  This will be a landscape card.
    • embossed layer — 4″ x 5-1/4″ (1st layer on card front)
    • layer that image adheres — 2-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ (4th layer)
    • embossed strip inside — 3/4″ x 5-1/2″
    • inside layer image adheres  — 2″ x 2″
  • Balmy Blue cardstock
    • mat 2nd layer card front  — 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″
    • mat inside layer — 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
  • Crumb Cake cardstock
    • mat – 3rd layer card front — 3″ x 4″
    • mat — inside layer — 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
  • Basic Black cardstock
    • scrap for greeting & sentiment inside
  • Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper
    • envelope flap — 2-1/4″ x 6″

The card base is Basic White cardstock with a panel and strip of the same embossed using Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder.  The panel is adhered to the card base front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The embossed strip will be adhered to the inside of the card. (see photo later)  Adhere the Balmy Blue piece over the embossed panel centering it on the panel, then add the Crumb Cake panel and the Basic White panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere.

Using the large flower image from Stampin’ Up! Layers Of Beauty stamp  2 images in Versa Mark on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder over the stamped images, then emboss using a heat tool. Color the images using White Craft ink and a Water Painter.  You color first with the White ink so you will be able to add color to the images, other wise there will be just a dark blob.  Let the piece dry thoroughly before adding color. Color using Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green, and Mossy Meadow inks.  Squeeze drops of each color onto a stampin block or something you can add a few drops of water to mis with each color.  Color until you get the color you desire.  Let dry, then die cut the image using a die from Layers Of Beauty Dies.  Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies stamp set in Versa Mark on a scrap of Basic Black cardstock.  Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and heat set using a heat tool.  Fussy cut the greeting and cut into two pieces, adhere the two pieces to the card front.

Adhered the Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, and Basic White pieces together, then adhered over the embossed strip.  Cut one of the flower images from the 2nd flower tha was colored.  Adhere the flower over the piece adhered over the embossed strip.  Fussy cut the sentiment from Stampin’ Up!  Wildflower Designs stamp set stamped in Versa Mark and embossed using White Embossing Powder.

It isn’t necessary to add an extra panel to the back of a card, but I like to do so in case, I have a lot to say.  A panel of Basic White is adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and one of the remaining flowers is added to the panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A Basic White envelope gets a panel of Subtles 6′ x 6″ Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I am happy you stop  by today.  I hope you take the time to linger and look at my other blog posts and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. My hope and wish are that you wilbe inspired to create amazing creations yourself. Feel free to CAS(E) any card. Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me. Have a blessed day!

I almost forgot to say this is a CAS of a card of Brandy Cox.  I had to add a few little things to make it my own.

Stampin’ Up! Cheerful Daisies Thinking Of You

Stampin’ Up! Cheerful Daisies Thinking Of You

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Cheerful Daisies Stamp Set & Dies, Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves Stamp Set, Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Designs Stamp Set, and Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.

Card Cuts

  • Basic White cardstock
    • card base 4-1/4″ x 11″ score at 5-1/2″
    • inside panel — 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • pop out mechanism — 1″ x 5″, score at 1-1/4″, 2-1/2″, 3-3/4″
  • Lovely Lavender card base from Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin
    • embossed layer for  card front — 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″
  • Highland Heather cardstock
    • flowers — 4″ x 5-1/2″
  • Granny Apple Green cardstock
    • leaves — scrap
  • Gorgeous Grape cardstock
    • flowers shadow mat 4″ x 5-1/2″

Place the 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ piece of Lovely Lavender on the card front.  To keep the two pieces together place a small piece of Washi tape on the edge.  Measure down 1″ and place your die. This is just a diagram I created to show how to die cut the opening.   Keep the card open, you do not want to accidently cut through both pieces of your card.   See the card for the Lovely Lavender  paper. After die cutting the opening, emboss the panel using Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder, then adhere to the card front. Be sure to emboss the side that faces up when you take the panel from the card base after die cutting so the two pieces will fit together again.  If you emboss the other side they will not fit.

Cut the pop out mechanism 1″ x 5″ scoring at 1-1/4″, 2-1/2″, and 3-3/4″.  The second photo shows how the pop out will look once folded. Now add the Pop Out Mechanism inside of the card by adding adhesive to one end first,  (see photo,) it adhered right at the score line of the card base, then fold the mechanism in half and adhere adhesive to the area marked on the card front, then close card front (note your mechanism  will be hanging down into the window)

This is the way the Pop Out Mechanism works once it is attached.  The greeting label will adhere to the Pop Out.

Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Layering Leaves stamp set on the cut out label, then adhere to the Pop Out Mechanism.

Using dies from Wildflowers Designs Dies die cut these two pieces from Gorgeous Grape cardstock. This is just my sample. You can see the photo of the actual card above.

The photos will show how each frame is adhered to the card front around the greeting even though the greeting label does not show in this photo.  You can see it in the photo of the card.

You can see I adhered another panel of Basic White with a sentiment and flowers before adhering the Pop Out Mechanism.  This is how the Pop Out looks flat.

I used a piece of the inside of  an envelope from the Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin to go on the envelope flap.  Don’t ask me why I didn’t just use the envelope, it just now dawned on me, that is what I should have done.

I am happy you stop  by today.  I hope you take the time to linger and look at my other blog posts and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. Stampin’ Up! Adventurous Sky

Stampin’ Up! Adventurous Sky

Happy Friday everyone!  Do you have a fun weekend planned?  Here in Georgia it is too hot to do much outside. Maybe,  if you are in Savannah at the beach, the breeze may be cool encough to be outside.  Enjoy the weekend, whatever you do!

I believe this is called a diagonal Fun Fold, I will call it that.  I have used Stampin’ Up! Adventurous Sky stamp set and Stampin’ Up! Beach Day stamp set for my greeting and sentiment.  Beach Day has been seeing lots of use with me recently.  I also used half of one of the card bases from the Delicate Wings Paper Pumpin Kit as a background piece on the card front.

I am entering my card in

Triple B: Birds, Butterflies, and Blooms  Challenge

Cut a 4-1/4′ x 11″ Basic White cardstock card base.  Score at 5-1/2″.  On the left panel, cut from the score line to the right corner.  You can see in the photo how the cut is.

Using half of one of the card bases from Delicate Wings Paper Pumpkin, cut the panel 4″ x 5-1/4″ then cut diagonally from the left corner to the right corner.  Adhere the piece to the left panel of the card front.

Using Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies stamp set and Dies you can stamp butterflies and then die cut using one of the dies.  I used butterflies from a large, large stash of butterflies I die cut some time ago.  I believe they multiply over night.  I dipped the edges of the butterflies in Versa Mark end, sprinkled Gold Embossing Powder over them, and heat embossed.  Using a Blending Brush and Lost Lagoon ink, I brushed the center of the butterflies.  A sequin Neutral Adhesive Backed Sequins is popped on the butterflies.

Cut a piece of Lost Lagoon cardstock 3-1/4′ x 6-1/2″ score at 3-1/4″. Cut a piece of Lost Lagoon 3-1/4″ x 3-1/4″.  Embosse the piece using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.  Adhere to the front of the little card.  Pop the butterflies on the front using a Glue Dot.   Using another half panel of a card base from Delicate Wings Paper Pumpkin cut to 4″ x 5-1/4″,  color using a Blending Brush and Lost Lagoon ink.  Adhere the piece to the inside of the card.  Use the remaining half of the card from the card front, adhered to the inside of the left panel. Adhere the little card to the middle of the inside panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Stamp a sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day stamp set in Memento Black ink on a piece of Basic White cardstock.  Also, stamp the  little butterflies from Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies stamp set in Memento Black ink on the sentiment panel.  Color using Lemon Lolly and Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Blends.  Adhere to the inside of the little card.

Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Adventurous Sky stamp set on a scrap of Basic White cardstock, fussy cut and adhere to the corner of the little card.  Adhere Iridescent Adhesive Backed Gems to the front of the little card.

Adhere a 2-1/4′ x 6″ piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper to a Basic White envelope flap using Multipurpose Glue.

I am happy you stop  by today.  I hope you take the time to linger and look at my other blog posts and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. Stampin’ Up! Beach Day

Stampin’ Up! Beach Day

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Stamp Set.  I have had a hard time trying to write instructions for making this card so I will just show you a few pictures, give instructions I hope make sense and give the dimensions of the cardstock and Country Woods Designer Series Paper used in the creation.

The card base is Crumb Cake.  Make two card bases 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″, Score at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″. Trim off about 1/16″ from the card base that will be the right side one. Adhere the two card base together, placing one flat piece inside the other. By trimming off just the little smidge, it will make the card close easier.
Card Cuts you will need for this card:

  • Crumb Cake cardstock
    • card base — 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ (cut 2) score at 2-1/8″ and 4-1/4″
    • mats for top & bottom pieces on card front  1-3/4″ x 4-1/2″ (cut 2)
    • mat for art piece — 4″ x 4″
    • sand banks — 1″ x 3-3/4″ (cut 2)
  • Basic White cardstock
    • inside piece — 4″ x 5-1/4″
    • art piece — 3-3/4″ x 3-3/4″
    • stamped images — 4″ x 4″
  • Country Woods Designer Series Paper
    • top & bottom pieces card front  — 1-1/2″ x 3-3/4″ (cut 2)
    • side panels inside — 1-7/8″ x 5-1/4″ (cut 2)

This is how the card looks when you begin opening it.  It can look like a square card.

As you can see the surf boards go between the top and bottom piece on the Crumb Cake.  I didn’t place the Country Woods Designer Series Paper piece closer to the top and bottom of the card base so I had to cut the bottom from the surf boards.  I used  Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly, and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends to color the surf boards.

Adhesive is adhered only on the left side of the Crumb Cake mats, so the other end will slide easily behind the art piece when closed.

Challenges I am entering

Hand Stamped  Sentiments Challenge

Krafty Chicks Challenge

The Paper Players Challenge   down the right side

On the  Basic White piece use Blending Brushes and Lemon Lolly, Calypso Coral, and Pool Party ink to create the sky.

On the two pieces of Crumb Cake die cut the sand banks, brush with Crumb Cake ink using a Blending Brush, stamp the seashell image on the sand banks.  The sand banks will be layered at the bottom of the art piece and the beach shack will be adhered over the edge of it.

Stamp in Memento Black ink the beach shack, coloring using Azure Afternoon, Cajun Craze, Peach Pie, Pool Party, and Real Red Stampin’ Blends.

Die cut the grass using a die from Beach Day Dies

Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day Stamp Set in Versa Mark on a scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock, sprinkle White Embossing Powder and heat set using a heat tool.

Stamp the seagull image in Memento Black ink, die cut and pop on the upper right corner of the card base.

Adhere the art piece to the right side of the card front putting adhesive only in the middle edge of the piece so the card will  slide open and close easy.

You can see how the two Country Woods Designer Series Paper pieces are adhered to either side of the card.

On a panel of Basic White cardstock stamp the sentiments from Stampin’ Up! Beach Day stamp set in Pool Party and Calypso Coral inks.  Using a Blending Brush and Crumb Cake ink, brush some sand at the bottom of the panel.

Stamp in Memento Black ink the chair and umbrella.  Color using Calypso Coral, Lemon Lolly, and Pool Party Stampin’ Blends.  Adhere the panel to the inside card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

A Basic White envelope gets a piece of Country Woods Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Glue.
