Stampin’ Up! Layers Of Beauty – Thinking Of You
The card I am sharing today, turned out to be a real beauty! I think it is so beautiful and hope that you like it also. I used Stampin’ Up! Layers Of Beauty Stamp Set for the main focal part. The flowers turned out beautifully. I used Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies Stamp Set for the greeting and Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Designs Stamp Set for the sentiment.
These are the card cut you will need to create this card:
- Basic White cardstock
- card base — 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″ score at 4-1/4″ This will be a landscape card.
- embossed layer — 4″ x 5-1/4″ (1st layer on card front)
- layer that image adheres — 2-3/4″ x 3-3/4″ (4th layer)
- embossed strip inside — 3/4″ x 5-1/2″
- inside layer image adheres — 2″ x 2″
- Balmy Blue cardstock
- mat 2nd layer card front — 3-1/4″ x 4-1/4″
- mat inside layer — 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
- Crumb Cake cardstock
- mat – 3rd layer card front — 3″ x 4″
- mat — inside layer — 2-1/2″ x 2-1/2″
- Basic Black cardstock
- scrap for greeting & sentiment inside
- Subtles 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper
- envelope flap — 2-1/4″ x 6″
The card base is Basic White cardstock with a panel and strip of the same embossed using Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder. The panel is adhered to the card base front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The embossed strip will be adhered to the inside of the card. (see photo later) Adhere the Balmy Blue piece over the embossed panel centering it on the panel, then add the Crumb Cake panel and the Basic White panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere.
Using the large flower image from Stampin’ Up! Layers Of Beauty stamp 2 images in Versa Mark on a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder over the stamped images, then emboss using a heat tool. Color the images using White Craft ink and a Water Painter. You color first with the White ink so you will be able to add color to the images, other wise there will be just a dark blob. Let the piece dry thoroughly before adding color. Color using Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Granny Apple Green, and Mossy Meadow inks. Squeeze drops of each color onto a stampin block or something you can add a few drops of water to mis with each color. Color until you get the color you desire. Let dry, then die cut the image using a die from Layers Of Beauty Dies. Stamp a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Sketched Butterflies stamp set in Versa Mark on a scrap of Basic Black cardstock. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder and heat set using a heat tool. Fussy cut the greeting and cut into two pieces, adhere the two pieces to the card front.
Adhered the Balmy Blue, Crumb Cake, and Basic White pieces together, then adhered over the embossed strip. Cut one of the flower images from the 2nd flower tha was colored. Adhere the flower over the piece adhered over the embossed strip. Fussy cut the sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Wildflower Designs stamp set stamped in Versa Mark and embossed using White Embossing Powder.
It isn’t necessary to add an extra panel to the back of a card, but I like to do so in case, I have a lot to say. A panel of Basic White is adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue and one of the remaining flowers is added to the panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
A Basic White envelope gets a panel of Subtles 6′ x 6″ Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
I am happy you stop by today. I hope you take the time to linger and look at my other blog posts and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. My hope and wish are that you wilbe inspired to create amazing creations yourself. Feel free to CAS(E) any card. Any questions you may have, you know you can always contact me. Have a blessed day!
I almost forgot to say this is a CAS of a card of Brandy Cox. I had to add a few little things to make it my own.
