Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Gallery

Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Gallery

I have never created a bay window card, as I always thought they looked hard to make.  I was surprised at the ease of it after seeing a video by Lisa Bernard, Queen B Creations.  What caught my attention was that I needed a sympathy card, and the Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper she was using, I thought, would make a great sympathy card. I ended up using a different pattern after looking through the pack of beautiful papers.

As you look at the photo above, you can see there are five panels with Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper.  There is a tiny 1/4″ that is hidden as it is tucked under the tree on the right side.  You will be able to see that better later on.  In giving the card cuts for this card, I numbered the panels 1-5, starting on the left side and going across.  As you cut the pieces, lay the design out as you see it, so when you adhere the pieces, you will not lose the flow of the design on the paper.

Cut the panel of Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper 4″ x 5-1/4″

Smoky Slate cardstock

  • card base — 4-1/4″ x 11″  score at 1/4″, 1-1/2″, 3-1/4″, 4-1/4″, 5-1/2″
  • 1 panel
    • Basic Black mat – 7/8” x 4-1/8”
    • Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper – ¾” x 4”
  • #2 panel
    • Basic Black mat – 1-1/8” x 4-1/8”
    • Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper – 1” x 4”
  • #3 panel
    • Basic Black mat – 1-5/8” x 4-1/8”
    • Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper – 1-1/2” x 4”
  • #4 panel
    • Repeat #2 panel for this panel
  • #5 panel
    • Repeat #1 panel for this panel  —  this panel is the stopper for the left edge of the card to tuck under to form the bay window.
  • Inside
    • Basic Black cardstock mat – 3-3/4” x 4-1/8”
    • Basic White cardstock — 3-1/4” x 4”

If you choose to make this card without mats, use the mat sizes to cut the designer series paper

Two panels of a different design of Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper are adhered to Basic Black mats, then adhered to the card base.       A stamp from Stampin’ Up! Painted Lavender Stamp Set is used to stamp the sprigs of leaves on the inside panels in Memento Black ink.  Sentiments from Stampin’ Up! Unbounded Love Stamp Set is stamped on the larger inside panel.

A Basic White envelope gets a panel of Beautiful Gallery Designer Series Paper adhered to the envelope flap using  Multipurpose Glue.

One of the perks of being a demonstrator is to pre-order before a new catalog launches, and the Online Exclusives we get to order before they are released to customers.  You will also be getting at least a 20% discount on purchases. If you love card-making as a hobby, you can still be a demonstrator and get that discount to help get more card-making items,  or you can be like I was and buy Stampin’ Up! products for 10 years before I became wise enough to become a demonstrator to get the discount.  When I think of all the stamping products that 20% would have brought over those 10 years, I cringe.

DAINTY DELIGHT W/HAPPY HEDGEHOG FENCE EASEL FUN FOLD FOR THE SU DEMOS FUN FOLDS BLOG HOP

DAINTY DELIGHT W/HAPPY HEDGEHOG FENCE EASEL FUN FOLD FOR THE SU DEMOS FUN FOLDS BLOG HOP

Welcome to our Blog Hop!

We have a great lineup of talented crafters for you today, who enjoy creating fun folds.  If you love fun folds, I am hoping you find inspiration and enjoyment so much that you will be inspired to join us next time.  You are in for a treat with all the talented demonstrators participating. You can find that list   located at the end of the post about my card creation.

The card I am sharing today for our Blog Hop is created using Stampin’ Up! Dainty Delight stamp set and Dies and greeting and sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Sending Smiles stamp set.  An embossing folder from Basic 3D Embossing Folders.

I cut a piece of Basic White card stock 5-1/2″ x 11″.  I scored at 2-3/4″ and 7″.  The other marking in the above diagram are pencil markings instead of hard scoring.  You should watch Terri Gaines video. Click on her name and it will take you to her PDF and video. She gives great instruction about creating the fence.  She also gives a great tip about keeping the fence post even.  The 2-3/4″ is a mountain fold and the 7″ is a valley fold.

To create the fence and fence post, I cut (6) strips of card stock 1/2″ x 2-1/2″ for the post, each post gets 2 pieces and (3) fence rails 1/2″ x 5-1/2″.  I die cut daisies from Daffodil Delight card stock using the daisy dies from Stampin’ Up! Cheerful Daisies Dies.  The vine is another die from the same set and is die cut in Garden Green and Granny Apple Green card stock.    The bird and butterfly are from Stampin’ Up! Happy Hedgehog stamp set.  They are stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink and colored using Daffodil Delight, Balmy Blue, and Tahitian Tide Stampin’ Blends Markers. Die cut (3) pieces of grass from Garden Green card stock using a die from Stampin’ Up! Beautiful Balloons stamp set.

One piece of the grass goes on the panel that has the easel stopper.  Another piece goes on the bottom of the card so when the card is closed grass will show through the fence.  The last piece is adhered to upper section of the easel panel so grass shows through the fence.  A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Sending Smiles stamp set is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink on a Basic White card stock scrap, matted on a small piece of Garden Green card stock, and adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Daisies are popped around the sentiment.

A Basic White envelope gets a greeting and greenery from Stampin’ Up! Around The Bend stamp set stamped on the envelope flap in Garden Green ink.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. Stampin’ Up! Very Best Occasions

Stampin’ Up! Very Best Occasions

This is not the kind of card you are happy to share, but that time does come around whether we want it to or not.  Recently I have three friends who lost a loved one.  This simple and very easy card is created using Stampin’ Up! Very Best Occasions stamp set for the greeting and sentiment.  This is an all white card except for a brush of Balmy Blue ink on the butterfly wings and the swish of it behind the butterfly.

My card for today is inspired by the sketch design of Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.

I started with a Basic White card stock card base.  I cut another panel of Basic White and cut to mat the challenge sketch.

I stamped a greeting from Stampin’ Up! Very Best Occasions stamp set in Tuxedo Memento Black ink on the middle piece of the panel I cut in three pieces.  A swish of Balmy Blue ink is brushed on the middle section using Balmy Blue ink and a Blending Brush. After stamping the greeting the three pieces is embossed using Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. The top and bottom sections are adhered to the card front using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  The middle section is popped on the middle of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A butterfly from my stash of butterfly is brushed on the wings with Balmy Blue ink using a Blending Brush.  It is popped over the Balmy Blue swish using a Stampin’ Dimensional.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Very Best Occasions stamp set is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black in on a Basic White panel.  Using a butterfly from my stash I used Balmy Blue ink and a Blending Brush to stencil the butterfly in the corner of the sentiment panel.

A Basic White envelope get butterflies stenciled in Balmy Blue ink on the envelope flap.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you took the time to linger and look at my other blog post and cards and that you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day. Stampin’ Up! Favored Flowers Heartfelt Sympathy

Stampin’ Up! Favored Flowers Heartfelt Sympathy

The card I am sharing today, I am letting the Designer Series Paper do all the work.  It makes for a beautiful card.  The Designer Series Paper is a Sale-A-Bration item and is free with a qualifying order.  I created a card like this design probably 12-13 years ago, long before blogging became popular. I was looking through Pinterest and come upon this card from Terri Gaines.  She has a video of creating it. You can click on her name and see all the instructions for creating it.  It is called a Twisted Ribbon. It has been too many years to remember where I first saw it.

I am entering the Can You Handle The Pressure? Challenge. Their theme is always Embossing Dry or Heat your choice.

This is not the kind of card you like to make, but sometimes they are necessary.  I needed two on the same day.  I started with an Evening Evergreen card stock card base.  I embossed a panel of the same kind of card stock using the Cane Weave 3D Embossing Folder. The embossed panel is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A 2″ x 5-1/2″  piece of Basic White card stock is cut and scored at 1/2″ intervals.  This is where you adhere the strips of Designer Series Paper to create the ribbon. I used two different patterns of the Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper.  Check out Terri Gaines’s video for the placement of the strips.

Once you have finished creating the ribbon, mat the ribbon piece on Calypso Coral and Evening Evergreen card stock then adhered over the embossed panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. Flowers from a panel of Stampin’ Up! Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper are fussy cut and popped over the ribbon using Stampin’ Dimensionals.  A double bow is created using Crumb Cake twine from Baker’s Twine Essential Pack. A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Seaside Bay stamp set is stamped in Evening Evergreen ink on a scrap of Basic White card stock, fussy cut, and popped on the card front using Stampin’ DimensionalsIridescent Pearls Basic Jewels are popped around the card front.

A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts stamp set is stamped in Evening Evergreen ink on a Basic White card stock panel.  Flowers from Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper are fussy cut and adhered to the lower corner of the panel using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.Basic White medium envelope gets a panel of Favored Flowers Designer Series Paper added to the envelope flap.

Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts with Brilliant Wings

Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts with Brilliant Wings

The card I am sharing today is created using Stampin’ Up! Brilliant Wings Dies and Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set.  This is the type card you never want to send but need to have a few on hand just in case there is an occasion where you need one.

I am entering the Freshly Made Sketches Challenge.

I started with a Basic White card stock card base with a panel of Basic White card stock cropped using the largest Deckled Rectangle Dies then embossed using the Painted Posies 3D Embossing Folder.

A greeting from Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts Stamp Set is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink in the upper left corner of the embossed panel.  Three strips of Textured Chic Designer Series Paper are adhered across the bottom of the embossed panel and the panel is then adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  A butterfly is cropped from Basic White card stock using a die from Brilliant Wings Dies.  The butterfly is colored using a Blending Brush and Pool Party ink.  It is brushed lightly to give just a faint tint.  The wings are then pressed against the Versa Mark ink pad and Gold Embossing Powder is sprinkled on the butterfly and heat embossed using a heat tool.  It is then popped over the three strips using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

A panel of Basic White card stock is cropped using the largest of the Deckled Rectangle Dies, the panel is then embossed using the Painted Posie 3D Embossing Folder.  A sentiment from Stampin’ Up! Inspired Thoughts stamp set is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink onto the panel.

A Basic White envelope gets the flap embossed using the Painted Posies 3D Embossing Folder.
