WOW! here it is Sunday and I know everyone going to OnStage is excited with anticipation as to what fun is ahead for this week! Some of you are probably like a child on Christmas Eve!

The card for today is from retired Stampin’ Up! colors. I was thrilled that I still had them all. I believe one of the colors is over 10 years old, but the stamp pad was still as juicy as a new pad. I even have Gumball Green and Midnight Muse card stock– wonder of wonders! (See Product List at the end to see substitutes.) Inspiration for the card is from CAS Colour and Sketches.

Also playing along with Watercooler Wednesday Challenge WWC194 Anything Goes .

Here is the card recipe:

The stamp set used is Flourishing Phrases and Dragonfly Dreams.

Gumball Green – card base 4-1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5-1/2″ – embossed using the Subtle Embossing Folder.

Midnight Muse – mat 4-1/4” x 3”

Gumball Green – mat 4” x 2-3/4”

Whisper White Thick – art piece 3-3/4” x 2-1/2” Ink applied to stamp with a Blender Pen using Gumball Green and Raspberry Ripple ink and then with Versa Mark and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Embossing with clear embossing powder give a shine to the art piece.

Midnight Muse Ribbon – for the bow.

On the inside, 2 leaves were stamped in opposite corners in Gumball Green on the sentiment panel along with the sentiment from the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set.

Each panel was adhered using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Stampin’ Up! Hanging Garden Broadway Bound

Welcome to my blog!

I love making cards with strips and dots but afraid I have not done justice to these strips and dots. There are so many beautiful cards. Check them out at Double “D” Challenge

I’m also playing along at Global Design Project . Check out all the fabulous cards on this site also.

This was a very easy card to create. A card base of Basic Black cut 4-1/4″ x 11″and scored at 5-1/2.” A mat was cut from the Broadway Bound DSP and adhered to the Basic Black card base with Liquid Glue. A banner was cut 3-1/2″ x 2-3/4″ from a piece of the Broadway Bound DSP. The birthday cake is fussy cut from a scrap of the same DSP.

The inside sentiment is from the Hanging Garden stamp set and is stamped in Memento Black ink on the Whisper White panel. The panel is made to look like a marquee with the strips and dots adhered around it. The shine of the gold stripe and the gold dots does not show up in the picture. You can see the shine in the picture below.

Stampin’ Up! Spirited Snowmen

Welcome!

I hope you have had a terrific Thursday, doing all the things that make your heart sing. I hope you like my snow couple. I think they are precious. To me they are on a date and looking at the stars. Did you ever go on a date when you were young and look at the stars? How romantic. Or maybe now that you are an adult you look at them often and think what beauty.

The stamp set is the Spirited Snowmen set. The snow couple was stamped on Thick Whisper White card stock and then fussy cut. I stamped three so I could adhere the other two to the art one for depth and not use Stamping Dimensionals. It was Liquid Glue all the way.

The starry sky is a panel cut from the Twinkle, Twinkle DSP and adhered to the Whisper White card base that was embossed using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder. The snow bank was cut from a scrap of the Thick Whisper White card stock. It extends almost all the way across the embossed panel. It would probably look better if I had embossed it with the Softly Falling Embossing Folder also.

The “Together We Make A Great Pair” greeting is from the Animal Outing stamp set. It is stamped using Night of Navy onto the snow bank.

The inside sentiment is panel of Whisper White adhered to a mat of Night of Navy after the Whisper White panel had been punched with a retired Stampin’ Up! heart punch. You can use any punch you like or leave it plain. I wanted the hearts, since I wrote the word “LOVE” using the Night of Navy Stampin’ Write Marker.

Stampin’ Up Basket of Wishes with Pretty Kitty

A card for a friend that lives alone and her kitty just went to kitty heaven and she is very sad.

Inspiration for this card comes from TGIF Challenge tgifc#181.

The card base is Basic Black card stock cut 4-1/4 “ x 11”, scored at 5-1/2”. The mat is Old Olive cut 5-1/4” x 4” and embossed using the Subtle Embossing Folder. I truly find I use this embossing folder quite often. It can be used for any occasion. A 2-1/4” x 3-3/4” small panel was cut from a piece of the All is Bright DSP and adhered to the bottom of the Old Olive panel.

A length of 5/8” Striped Burlap Trim is wrapped around the card where the All is Bright DSP and the Old Olive card stock meet.

A scalloped circle mat for the art piece is cut from a scrap of Merry Little Christmas DSP (retired) using Layering Circle Framelits. You can use any green for this mat. I just happened to pick up this scrap. The art piece was stamped on a piece of Whisper White card stock using Memento Black Ink, then cut using the Layering Circle Framelits.

The masking technique was used to stamp the kitty from Pretty Kitty in front of the basket. First the kitty was stamped on the art panel and also on a piece of Removable Sticker Project Paper (to me it is removable label paper) to make the mask. The kitty was cut out and placed over the kitty stamped on the art piece, so when the basket was stamped it would not stamp on the kitty.

Coloring of the art piece was done by using Stampin’ Blends- Mango Medley, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight and the Color Lifter. A Cherry Cobbler Watercolor Pencil was used to color the bow on the kitty. The Basic Pearl Jewels are colored with Cherry Cobbler and Olive Stampin’ Blends and then adhered to the art piece and the red All is Bright DSP panel.

Some greenery was needed so I cut some leaves and buds from Old Olive and Whisper White card stock (can it be white greenery) Petals and More Thinlits was used to cut the greenery. This was adhered behind the mat for the art piece using Liquid Glue.

The greeting is from a Paper Pumpkin kit, (I save the stamp sets from my Paper Pumpkin) since I like the stamp set Around the Corner, I decided to make my own Around the Corner stamp by cutting the stamp with the greeting in two pieces, that way I could make it Around the Corner.

There is no inside sentiment as a note will be written to my friend letting her know I am thinking of her during the loss of her pet.

Stampin’ Up! Around The Corner with Sheltering Tree

How that for a title “Around the Corner with Sheltering Tree? The next few days we will be enjoying or maybe I should say my husband and BIL will be enjoying the music of the Old Timers’ Bluegrass Festival in Townsend, TN. This is a twice a year trip May and September.

The card for today is from the Around the Corner, Sheltering Tree and Postcard Pals stamp sets.

Inspiration and design come from several challenges that are happening.

This card is CAS(E)d from one seen on Pinterest. It wasn’t saved to a board, so the name of the person who created it, I can’t name. If someone out there has seen the card and saved it please let me know the name of the person so credit can be given. I found the card awesomely beautiful and wanted to make one. It looked so clean and simple.

Two cards were really made. Can you pick out the difference that was created to cover up forgetting to take the stamp off the Stamparatus when I went to stamp the next part of the card.

The card base is Basic Black cardstock for one and Pumpkin Pie for the other. A mask was made using removable label paper and the Clearance Rack Leaflet Framelits Dies. it was attached to the 3-3/4″ x 5″ Whisper White art piece. Pumpkin Pie and Crumb Cake were used to make the big leaf background. After the background leaf was finished, the masking was removed an attached to a piece of wax paper to be used another day.

Using the tree stamp from the Sheltering Tree stamp set the tree was stamped in Memento Black Ink in the center of the leaf.

The greeting from Around the Corner stamp set was stamped on the lower left corner using Memento Black Ink also. The Whisper White art panel is adhered to the Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue and then popped on the card base using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is stamped using Memento Black ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock from the stamp set Postcard Pals. The Whisper White sentiment panel is adhered to a Basic Black mat and this is adhered to the inside of the card.
