Flourishing Phrases and Petal Promenade DSP

Thank you for letting me pop into your inbox several times a week during 2018. It has been such a blessing to be able to share my cards with you. I hope that you will continue that blessing for me during 2019.

Tomorrow will be 2019. Have you made all your resolutions?

The card today is a combination of Flourishing Phrases, Petals and More Thinlits and Petal Promenade DSP.

The sketch for this card is from Fab Fri 153 Challenge.

Steps to creating this card:

Cut a card base 4-1/4″ x 11″ and score at 5-1/2″ using Powder Pink card stock.
Cut a mat 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ using Smokey Slate card. Emboss the Smokey Slate mat using the Subtle TIEF.
Adhere to the Powder Pink card base.
Fussy cut the wreath from the panel of Petal Promenade DSP.
Stamp in Tranquil Tide ink the greeting from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set.‘
Pop the wreath on the Smokey Slate mat using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Color the three pearls from the Pearl Basic Jewel assortment using a Powder Pink Stampin’ Write Marker.
Pop the three pearls in the middle of the wreath at the bottom.
Cut the decorative flourish from the Petals and More Thinlits using the Big Shot.
Adhere to the Smokey Slate mat using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Pop the wreath over the decorative flourish using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Cut 4″ x 5-1/4″ a panel from Smokey Slate card stock to use as the mat for the sentiment panel.
Cut a panel of Whisper White card stock 3-3/4″ x 5″ to stamp the sentiment on.
Stamp the sentiment from Flourishing Phrases stamp set using Tranquil Tide ink on the Whisper White panel and adhere using Liquid Glue to the Smokey Slate panel.
Adhere the Smokey Slate mat with the sentiment panel on it to the Powder Pink card base.
Fussy cut a piece of the garland from the Petal Promenade DSP (picture above).

Butterfly Gala and Climbing Roses

Is there a rush on at your home with Christmas being tomorrow ? I was at the grocery store yesterday and kept hearing comments of how tired I am. People rush and hurry getting everything to perfection or so they think, only to end up so tired they can not enjoy the day when it arrives. Even when I was a little girl, I can remember my grandmother and aunt hurrying about sewing dresses, crocheting scarves and most of all baking. I can remember my grandmother and aunt baking at least 20 cakes each, and to think they were all eaten during the Christmas festivities. People were always dropping in to visit and it was cake and coffee for everyone. Can you imagine baking 20 cakes in just a few days before Christmas. I can remember they were always moist and delicious. Another aunt, made a chocolate cake with black walnuts that is the most delicious cake you will ever eat. I think it must have been a tradition in the community to see who could bake the most cakes so they could tell it on Sunday at church.

Well, I truly hope everyone is ready and relax a bit on Christmas Eve. Christmas at our house is today as my daughter-in-law is a nurse and it is her year to work on Christmas Day. Wonder how many Christmas babies she will have.

I am playing along at Try Stampin On Tuesday Challenge 388.

Card base is a 4-1/4″ x 11″ panel of Very Vanilla card stock, scored at 5-1/2″ and folded in half on score line.
Cut a 4” x 5-1/4” panel of Mossy Meadow card stock, using the Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to add texture to the panel.
Cut a panel of Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper 2” x 4-7/8”
Cut a panel of Very Vanilla card stock 2-1/4″ x 5″ for one of the mats for the DSP panel.
Cut a panel of Mossy Meadow card stock 2-1/8” x 4-7/8” for the smaller mat.
Adhere the DSP panel and the two mats with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Adhere the panels to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
Stamp the greeting from the Climbing Roses stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.
Use the dies from the Layering Squares Framelits Dies to cut out the greeting and a mat of Mossy Meadow card stock. Adhere with Liquid Glue.
Use the stamp and die from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Bundle and stamp in Mossy Meadow ink and then crop the butterfly. Adhere with a Glue dot. Adhere two Pearls from the Pearls Basic Jewel assortment to the body of the butterfly.
To adhere the greeting panel to the card front use Stampin’ Dimensionals on the right side so the panel will be even when it is adhered to the Petal Promenade panel. Use Liquid Glue on the left side of the panel.
There is no inside sentiment as it is left blank to write a note.

Lovely Lattice

This is, if I do say so myself, a beautiful card for today. The stamp set is from the Sale-A-Brations catalog (available January 3, 2019 for ordering) This is just a sneak peek of what is to come. I am going to love using this stamp set to make future cards, it is so pretty.

The sketch I am using is from Freshly Made Sketches. It is a nice sketch layout.

The card base is Balmy Blue card stock, cut 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2″. A Whisper White panel of card stock is cut 4″ x 5-1/4″ and embossed using the Subtle TIEF. This mat is adhered to the Balmy Blue base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue. The greeting on the front is a stamp from the Soft Sayings Card Kit. You get everything needed to make 20 cards, you just supply the adhesive. The three pearls are from the Pearl Basic Jewel collection.

A panel measuring 4-1/8″ x 2-1/8″ is cut from Whisper White card stock and embossed using the Quilt Top TIEF. This is adhered to the card base mat using Multipurpose Liquid Glue, then a 3-1/2″ x 2-1/8″ strip is cut from a 6″x 6″ panel of the Gingham Gala DSP (available January 3, 2019 from the Occasions catalog). This is glued at an angled over the Quilt Top embossed piece. The art piece is from the stamp set Lovely Lattice (available January 3, 2019, free from the Sale-A-Bration catalog with a $50 order from the Occasions catalog, the Annual catalog or the Clearance Rack or a combination of all three). It is stamped on a panel of Whisper White and colored using Balmy Blue Light, Daffodil Delight Light, and Call Me Clover Light Stampin’ Blends Pens.

The inside sentiment is from the stamp set Ribbon of Courage and stamped in Balmy Blue ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock, then matted to a panel cut from a piece of the 6″ x 6″ Gingham Gala DSP. The single flower in the upper and lower corner is colored with Balmy Blue, Shaded Spruce and Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Write Markers.

Pretty Kitty and Friends

This is a tale of two, a Kitty and a Puppy. They were playing and Kitty got into the knitting basket and became tangle up in the thread. Puppy tried to help after Kitty pounched on him, but all he could do was sit and look at her situation because the thread was tangled around him also. Kitty’s situation is much like life, we get ourselves all tangled up into something and have no idea how to get out of it.

Today’s card is from Stampin’ Up’s! Pretty Kitty and Bella and Friends stamp sets. Inspiration and design comes from a combination of Fusion Stamps and Double “D” Challenges -Snuggle Up Buttercup. Both seem similar enough to me that both challenges can be joined.

Both challenges have cable knit throws and red, so I chose to emboss at panel with the Cable Kit Embossing Folder and make a blanket for them to sit on out of a scrap from the Festive Farmhouse DSP. I tore the DSP around the edges to give it a ragged blanket look.

Kitty was stamped then masked so Puppy could be stamped sitting beside her. They are then colored with watercolor pencils and popped on their blanket with Stampin Dimensionals. An extra ball of yarn was stamped and colored with the Real Red watercolor pencils. It was popped on the Mixed Real Red Satin Ribbon as is the “Life is Messy” greeting.Gold Metallic Thread is wound all through the art piece to give it the look of having thread tangled all over both Kitty and Puppy.

The inside sentiment is stamped on a panel of Whisper White using Memento Black Ink. It is adhered to the Real Red mat using Multipurpose Glue.
