Forever Lovely – Love You!

Forever Lovely – Love You!

Can you believe it is already January 17th?  Where has the time gone?  I suppose we all need to make the most of it because time is precious and something we can never get back.

My inspiration for the day comes from the TGIF Challenge #194.  Looks like a great challenge.

The card starts with a Blushing Bride base with a Blushing Bride mat that has been embossed with the Subtle TIEF.  After finishing the card, I think maybe it might have been good with the new Lace Dynamic Embossing Folder from the Occasions catalog.  What do you think?  I used a Lovely Lipstick  Foil sheet from the Sal-A-Bration catalog to cut the mat for the focal panel which is cut from a piece in the All My Love DSP. The red heart is cut from the Lovely Lipstick Foil sheet also.  I first cut out one of the hearts in the All My Love DSP pack but found it just did not suit me so I used it as a template to draw the heart on the foil sheet and then fussy cut it out.  The greeting is from the Forever Lovely stamp set, stamped on a scrap of Whisper White.  Linen Thread is wrapped around the focal panel three times and tied in a bow.  The heart is then popped on the panel.  The focal panel is then popped onto the Blushing Bride embossed panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment is stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink on a panel of Whisper White.  The sentiments are from the Part of My Story stamp set and the Forever Lovely stamp set.

That’s it for today.  Hope you like it and find it inspirational and encouraging for your own creations.

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew January Blog Hop– “LOVE”

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew January Blog Hop– “LOVE”

Welcome!  It’s that time again for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Blog Hop.  You can catch us here on the second Tuesday of each month.  Be sure to check out all the blogs, this is a talented group and you will find lots of inspiration.  Our theme for the month is “Love”.

I love red, it is a power color.  It always makes me feel energized when I wear or use red.  I would probably use red for all my cards but know that I should not.  I chose to make a card that can be for anyone, friend, relative or your one true love.   I am using the same stamp set as I used in a previous post.  It is just a different stamp from that set.  This beautiful rose is from the Graceful Garden stamp set.

My card today starts with a Real Red card base.  It is relatively simple and easy to make, even with looking so elegant,  It is one layer, no mats, just the background panel for the Graceful Garden red rose.  I suppose it could be called the mat for the rose.  A panel of Whisper White card stock was cut using the Framelits Die from the Wonderful Floral Framelits Die set.  As you can see it makes a nice decorative piece for the card.  I then used a stamp from the Timeless Textures stamp set to give a little texture to the background the rose would be popped on.  The rose was stamped using Memento Black Ink on Whisper White Thick card stock.  I then colored the rose using Stampin’ Write Marker in Real Red and Pear Pizzazz. It was then fussy cut.  The rose was then popped onto the Whisper White panel using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The greeting is from the Petal Palette stamp set and is stamped at the bottom in Real Red ink below the Graceful Garden rose. Three Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels were popped on the card at the top and the bottom.

The inside sentiment is from the Flourishing Phrases stamp set and is stamped in Real Red ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  A small rose from the Graceful Garden stamp set is stamped in Memento Black ink in the lower right corner of the sentiment panel.  It is then colored using Daffodil Delight, Real Red, and Pear Pizzazz Stampin’ Write Markers.  It is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Thank you for visiting our Blog Hop today.  My wish, as usual, is for you to find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.

Petal Palette with All My Love DSP

Petal Palette with All My Love DSP

YAY!   Sale-A-Brations starts today!  Is everyone ready? I have my list ready.  My card today is a combination of the Petal Palette stamp set and the All Love DSP from the Occasions catalog.

The card is a simple and easy one to make and only takes minutes to make unless you are like me and get side-tracked doing something else and have to come back to it a dozen times.

The inspiration for my sketch layout comes from Global Design Project, this week’s challenge.

The card base is Balmy Blue cut 5-1/2″  x 8-1/2″ and scored at 4-1/4″.  The mat is a panel  4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″  cut from the  All My Love DSP.  It is adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.  Another panel is cut measuring 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″ to use as the focal panel.  This also was adhered with Multipurpose Glue.

The mat for the art piece is a 1-7/8″ x 3-1/8″ panel cut using a Rectangle Framelits Die.  It is cut from a piece of the All My Love DSP.  The art piece measures 1-1/2″ x 2-7/8″ and is cut from a piece of Whisper White card stock. The greeting stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink is from the Petal Palette stamp set.  The greeting was masked so it could be stamped in two sections, instead of one long line.  The Balmy Blue hearts are embossed using the Subtle Dynamic TIEF. They are staggered down the art piece with the bottom three being attached to Silver Thread and then adhered to the panel.

Look at the difference in the two cards, one is photographed with a pink back ground, the other with a light wood background.  It makes all the difference in the background you use for the clarity of  a picture.

The inside sentiment panel is cut using the Stitched Label Framelits Dies.  The sentiment is from the Incredible Like You stamp set and is stamped in Lovely Lipstick ink.

Thank you for stopping by today!  Have a blessed day and my wish for you is to find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.

Butterfly Gala and Climbing Roses

Butterfly Gala and Climbing Roses

Is there a rush on at your home with Christmas being tomorrow ?  I was at the grocery store yesterday and kept hearing comments of how tired I am.  People rush and hurry getting everything to perfection or so they think, only to end up so tired they can not enjoy the day when it arrives.  Even when I was a little girl, I can remember my grandmother and aunt hurrying about sewing dresses,  crocheting scarves and most of all baking.  I can remember my grandmother and aunt baking at least 20 cakes each, and to think they were all eaten during the Christmas festivities.  People were always dropping in to visit and it was cake and coffee for everyone.  Can you imagine baking 20 cakes in just a few days before Christmas.  I can remember they were always moist and delicious.  Another aunt, made a chocolate cake with black walnuts that is the most delicious cake you will ever eat.  I think it must have been a tradition in the community to see who could bake the most cakes so they could tell it on Sunday at church.

Well, I truly hope everyone is ready and relax a bit on Christmas Eve.  Christmas at our house is today as my daughter-in-law is a nurse and it is her year to work on Christmas Day.  Wonder how many Christmas babies she will have.

I am playing along at Try Stampin On Tuesday Challenge 388.

  1. Card base is a 4-1/4″ x 11″ panel of Very Vanilla card stock, scored at 5-1/2″ and folded in half on score line.
  2. Cut a 4” x 5-1/4” panel of Mossy Meadow card stock, using the Subtle Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to add texture to the panel.
  3. Cut a panel of Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper 2” x 4-7/8”
  4. Cut a panel of Very Vanilla card stock 2-1/4″ x 5″ for one of the mats for the DSP panel.
  5. Cut a panel of Mossy Meadow card stock 2-1/8” x 4-7/8” for the smaller mat.
  6. Adhere the DSP panel and the two mats with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  7. Adhere the panels to the card front with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
  8. Stamp the greeting from the Climbing Roses stamp set using Mossy Meadow ink on a panel of Very Vanilla card stock.
  9. Use the dies from the Layering Squares Framelits Dies to cut out the greeting and a mat of Mossy Meadow card stock.  Adhere with Liquid Glue.
  10. Use the stamp and die from the Butterfly Gala Stamp Bundle and stamp in Mossy Meadow ink and then crop the butterfly. Adhere with a Glue dot.  Adhere two Pearls from the Pearls Basic Jewel assortment to the body of the butterfly.
  11. To adhere the greeting panel to the card front use Stampin’ Dimensionals on the right side so the panel will be even when it is adhered to the Petal Promenade panel. Use Liquid Glue on the left side of the panel.
  12. There is no inside sentiment as it is left blank to write a note.

All products used in creating this card are listed at the end of this post.

Thank you for stopping by today.  Have a blessed Christmas.  Hope you find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.
