Tea Together

Tea Together

I love the looks of this card.  It is created using the Tea Together stamp set and the greeting is from the Rooted In Nature stamp set.  An easy card, I think, for a beginner, but advanced enough that the most seasoned card maker will like.

My sketch design and inspiration comes from the Stamp, Ink, Paper Challenge 189  for the week.

Cut your Basic Black card base, along with the Whisper White mat for the front and for the inside sentiment.  Then cut the black/white panel that is from the Botanical Butterfly DSP.  This DSP is free with a $50 purchase during Sale-A-Bration, which ends on March 31.  I find it easier if you do all your cutting at once instead of just cutting a piece as you need it.

Adhere the Whisper White panel which has been embossed using the Subtle Textured Impression Embossing Folder (TIEF)  to the card base after you have popped the black/white panel from the Botanical Butterfly on it.

Stamp 4 roses from the Tea Together stamp set on thick Whisper White card stock using Versa Mark Ink.   One of the roses is for the inside sentiment panel. Sprinkle White Embossing Powder over the Versa Mark Ink and using your heat tool, heat emboss.  I like heat embossing when coloring because it prevents the colors from running.  Cut the roses out using the Tea Time Framelits Dies (the easy way), I fussy cut because I picked up the wrong stamp set with roses and dies and thought oh, there is not a die for this rose, after fussy cutting, I realized my mistake.

Color the roses using Garden Green and Real Red Stampin’ Write Markers. The roses are popped across the bottom of the black/white checked panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp the greeting in Real Red ink on a scrap of paper.  I traced the shape of the stamp for the greeting and fussy cut it also.  The greeting was popped in the center of the black/white checked panel using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Using Tuxedo Memento Black Ink stamp the sentiment from the stamp set Strong and Beautiful on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  Pop the rose in the lower right corner using a Mini Stampin Dimensional.  Adhere the sentiment panel to the card base using Liquid Glue.  The card is finished.

That is it for today!  Hope you like the card!!  Have a blessed day.

A Little Hello with Lovely Lattice

A Little Hello with Lovely Lattice

My card today is created using a Sale-A-Bration stamp set called Lovely Lattice.  It is a beautiful stamp and can be yours for free with a $50 purchase.

My sketch design comes from the Tuesday Morning Sketches

Start with a card base Whisper White card stock.

  • The next card stock cut is a panel of Basic Black for the mat of the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper (DSP)
  • Cut a panel of the Botanical Butterfly DSP and adhere to the Basic Black mat.
  • Adhere the Basic Black mat to the Whisper White card base.
  • Cut a panel of Basic Black, Whisper White, and Blueberry Bushel card stock.
  • Adhere the Whisper White panel to the Basic Black panel using Liquid Multipurpose Glue.
  • Wrap a strip of Pick A Pattern Washi Tape down the left side of the Blueberry Bushel panel, then adhere the panel to the Whisper White panel.
  • Before you adhere the Blueberry Bushel panel to the Whisper White panel emboss it using the Subtle TIEF.
  • Once all three of the panels have been adhered together pop it over the Botanical Butterfly panel using Mini Stampin Dimensionals.  Cut the Stamipn’ Dimensionals in half so that it only needs a little dimension off of the other panel.
  • Using the Lovely Lattice stamp set, stamp the image on a panel of Basic Black card stock using Versa Mark ink.
  • Embossing the image using White Embossing Powder and your heat tool.  Embossing the white on black gives for a beautiful image without color, but I chose to color the flowers.
  • Color the flowers using Stampin’ Blends Markers in Balmy Blue, Pineapple Punch, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, and Lovely Lipstick.  Coloring on the black sure gives each color a different color.
  • Pop the flowers on the Blueberry Bushel panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  • The flowers appear to be stamped on the Blueberry Bushel panel instead of being stamped on Basic Black and then colored.
  • Stamp on a scrap of paper the greeting from the Itty Bitty Greeting stamp set.  Trim and add a bit of Washi Tape.  Pop on the Blueberry Bushel panel.
  • Add three Basic Jewel Pearls in various spots on the card and the card front is finished.
  • The inside sentiment panel is left blank for a note.  A strip of Pick A Pattern Washi Tape is adhered down the left side so it won’t look so plain.

That’s the card for today.  I hope you like it.  Visit again soon.  Have a blessed day!

By The Bay

By The Bay

My card today is created using the By The Bay stamp set.  This set is free during Sale-A-Bration with a $50 purchase. The birds are from the High Tide stamp set.  It is a 2-1/3 layer card.  The base is Basic Black card stock.  The focal panel is stamped on Whisper White thick card stock so the coloring will be absorbed better and not make the paper rough up.  It is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink on the full panel.  The Stamparatus is great for being able to stamp this.  After you have stamped the full panel, place the 1-1/2″ x 4-3/4″ panel in the center of the full panel and stamp again.  This will be the panel you will color and mat with a Basic Black mat.

My inspiration comes from the Color Throwdown Challenge for this week.

The center panel is colored using Calypso Coral, Highland Heather, Garden Green, and Crumb Cake inks.  The roofs of the buildings are colored using a Calypso Coral Stampin Write Marker.  The dark image beside the house is colored with Highland Heather and is made dark for the ocean. The sky is Calypso Coral and Highland Heather sponged onto the card stock.  Amazing how different the color can be using different techniques to apply.  The birds are stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink using the stamp from High Tide stamp set. The bushes are colored using Garden Green ink that is mixed with water using an Aqua Painter.  The walkway and a bit of the wall is colored using Crumb Cake in with an Aqua Painter.  The two side panels are left uncolored with the exception of the roofs of the two small buildings. The greeting is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink at the bottom of the center panel.   After the coloring is finished, the panel is matted using a panel of Basic Black card stock.  It is then adhered over the full focal panel using Liquid Glue.    The inside sentiment is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink on a panel of Whisper White.  The sentiment is from the Well  Said stamp set.  The birds are stamped in Crumb Cake ink.

Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you like my card.  I hope you are having a blessed day!

Incredible Like You

Incredible Like You

Today I am using the Incredible Like You stamp set.  It is a fun set to use.   My card has a Pool Party card base and is embossed using the SubtleTextured Impression Embossing Folder (TIEF).  It is a one layer other than the jar with the flowers from the Incredible Like You stamp set.

Today’ s  Inspiration comes from The Sisterhood of Crafters. The challenge this week is called “In The Red”  Use the color red on your project or card.

And since I am using the stamp set Incredible Like You,  What Would You Stamp is having a challenge using that set so I thought why not join that one also.

The flowers are stamped in Lovely Lipstick on a panel of Whisper White card stock.  This was done three times as I wanted three flowers.   Each flower was fussy cut.

A jar was cut from Vellum card stock using the Everyday Jar Framelits.  A length of Linen Thread was wrapped three times around the neck of the jar and tied in a bow.  A doily from the Doily Builder Thinlits Dies was cut from a panel of Whisper White card stock.  It was adhered to the Pool Party card base using Liquid Glue. I stamped the stems twice for each stem to make sure they were long enough for the jar and still be able to adhere the flower heads to them using  Stampin’ Dimensionals cut in two pieces.  The stems were adhered using Glue Dots and the flower heads were adhered using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals. Three pears from the Share What You Love Artisan Pearls package are scattered to various spots on the card front.

The sentiment is stamped on a panel of Whisper White card stock using Lovely Lipstick ink.  A flower and stem are also stamped using Lovely Lipstick and Pear Pizzazz ink.

Thank you for stopping by today!  I hope you are having a blessed day.

Beauty Abounds with Botanical Butterfly

Beauty Abounds with Botanical Butterfly

It seems I am making great use of the Botanical Butterfly Designer Series Paper.  It is just so versatile and can be used for any card you chose to make.  Beauty Abounds is the stamp set the greeting and sentiment are from.  The Stitched Label Framelits makes a pretty addition to the card with the greeting stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink.

My sketch and inspiration come from the TGIF Challenge 200.  Such a lovely sketch for the challenge.

I also decided to play at As You See It because this is a very simple card in spite of my detailed instructions.  I could have just said cut your paper the sizes I have listed and adhere them with Liquid Glue, cut you some butterflies out and stick them on.  I wanted to make it detailed to show how easy it really is.  It is all about wording.   When I think SIMPLE  I think of making it easy so the novice has a chance to make a beautiful card.

This is a really simple and easy card but it will look complicated when I number the steps to creating.  Do not let that deter you from making it.  You will see the majority of the card is cutting.  If you can cut, you can make.  Follow the card recipe below:

  1. Cut a 4-1/4″ x 11″ card base using thick Whisper White card stock.
  2. Score the card at 5-1/2″ and fold on the scoreline.
  3. Cut a 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ mat using Basic Black card stock.
  4. Cut a 4″ x 5-1/4″ panel using a sheet of the Botanical Butterfly DSP
  5. Adhere the Botanical Butterfly DSP to the Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue.
  6. Cut a 2-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ panel using the Basic Black card stock.
  7. Cut a 2″ x 5-1/4″ panel from the Botanical Butterfly DSP using one of the sheets that have the above butterflies on it.
  8. Adhere the 2″ panel to the Basic Black mat using Liquid Glue.
  9. Adhere these two panels to the green Botanical Butterfly panel.  I realized when taking pictures I could have used only half a panel of this DSP.
  10. Fussy cut 2 small butterflies and 1 large butterfly from the Botanical Butterfly DSP.
  11. Using thick Whisper White card stock cut a label using the large framelits from the Stitched Labels Framelits set.
  12. Stamp in Gorgeous Grape the greeting from the Beauty Abounds stamp set.
  13. Pop the Stitched Label over the focal panels of butterflies and greenery using Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
  14. Adhere the large butterfly to the left corner of the Stitched Label using a Glue Dot.
  15. Adhere the two small butterflies using Glue Dots, one to the lower right corner of the Stitched Label and the other on one of the stems of the green flowers at the top of the left panel.
  16. The inside sentiment from the Beauty Abounds stamp set is stamped in Gorgeous Grape ink on a panel of Whisper White that has been matted on a panel of Basic Black card stock using Liquid Glue.
  17. Fussy cut a large butterfly from the Botanical Butterfly DSP and adhered with Liquid Glue.
  18. Using Liquid Glue adhere the finished panel to the card base.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you found enjoyment in seeing my card and that you like it.  My wish is for you to find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.  Have a blessed day!
