Stampin’ Up! Share What You Love

Stampin’ Up! Share What You Love

Happy Wednesday everyone and Welcome to my blog!

The card today is created using Stampin’ Up! Share What You Love Stamp Set.  I made this card a one or so ago, but never found a challenge that was suitable for it. So thank you Make My Monday and Alphabet Challenge for having one with poppies as the theme.  I know I saw a version of this card someplace, maybe from a blog post or Pinterest so if you are that person thank you,  but I can not recall your name.  I do remember it was a beautiful card and I wanted to make one like it.

The challenge…  the theme Poppies…

And this one… Alphabet Challenge — P for Poppies or Pumpkins — I chose poppies.

Poppies come in colors other than red!  Did you know that? I wanted to make my poppies purple so I researched to see if there was such a thing as a purple poppy and this is what I found.  Put purple poppies in search and you will be amazed!🙂

The card base is Stampin’ Up! Whisper White card stock that is stamped in Stampin’ Up! Smoky Slate ink using the Stampin’ Up! Crackle Stamp.  A Stampin’ Up! Highland Heather card stock mat is embossed using the Stampin’ Up! Subtle Embossing Folder.  The art piece is a panel of Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake card stock stamped using the Crackle Stamp and Crumb Cake ink. Before stamping the Crackle stamp over the panel, the poppies were stamped using Tuxedo Memento Black ink and colored using Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Blends in Light and Dark Highland Heather and Light Old Olive.

Once they were colored a mask was placed over the poppies so the Crackle Stamp could be used and not cover the poppies.  Three hearts were stamped but it has been so long I forget the stamp set, but you can use any stamp set that has a small heart stamp.  Stampin’ Up! Gingham Gala Adhesive Back Sequins are randomly popped over the art piece.  A small double loop bow is made using Stampin’ Up! Linen Thread and popped on the stem of the flowers.  The greeting from the Stampin’ Up! Very Versailles Stamp Set is stamped in Highland Heather ink.

The sentiment panel is a panel of Stampin’ Up! Highland Heather card stock and the sentiment is from Very Versailles and stamped in Highland Heather ink on the panel of Highland Heather card stock.

Thank you for stopping by today.   I hope you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day.  My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself.

 Ink To Be Discontinued Permanently

Stampin’ Up! provided us with an update about Purple Posy Inks.  Despite their efforts to resolve issues with Purple Posy ink, they’ve learned that the ink color is still shifting over time.

All of Stampin’ Up!’s exclusive ink colors are run through a vigorous series of tests to get ahead of challenges like this, and to ensure colors are accurate and meet our standards of coordination. Purple Posy DID pass regular testing standards in time-simulating ovens, but they’ve now identified that it fell short when it came to actual time passing. The color begins to shift once the ink has rested in the ink pad for about six weeks.

This means that the color isn’t coordinating with our other colors as strictly as SU! requires.  Due to these ongoing challenges, they’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue Purple Posy classic ink as of November 5, 2019.  The following items will no longer be available to purchase:

  • Purple Posy Classic Stampin’ Pad (item 150084)
  • Purple Posy Classic Stampin’ Ink Refill (item 150091)
  • 2019–2021 In Color Classic Stampin’ Pad Assortment (item 150087)

All other Purple Posy products (such as Purple Posy Stampin’ Write Marker, Purple Posy Cardstock, Purple Posy Stampin’ Blends, etc.) will remain available for purchase.

So – I know this is disappointing to many of you – but…I am actually pleased that SU! is taking this step.  One of the major draws of Stampin’ Up! products is the color coordination across the different products.  We can count on things matching up as we create!  And if Purple Posy isn’t “matching up” – then….this is the right thing to do!

Already purchased the ink pad a refill?  While Stampin’ Up! can’t replace Purple Posy ink pads for customers who’ve already received them, anyone with concerns regarding the color shifting properties of their Purple Posy ink pads may contact Demonstrator Support and receive a $7.50 coupon code as compensation. The coupon codes will expire on January 1, 2020.

Stampin’ Up! Feels Like Frost

Stampin’ Up! Feels Like Frost

Happy Day everyone!   Make it a great day!

My card for the day is created using Stampin’ Up! Feels Like Frost Specialty Designer Series Paper and Stampin’ Up! Toil Christmas Stamp Set.  It made a beautiful card.  I am rather pleased with the color scheme.  Instead of your typical red cardinal, I decided to make mine a bluebird.  Do not know if the color is right for a true bluebird, but then he is my bird and that his color shades of blue from  Stampin’ Up!  Stampin’ Blend markers in Light and Dark Balmy Blue.  It is amazing how different the color looks once a picture is taken.

My challenges are with Allsorts Challenge — theme  Gold or Silver

Craftyhazelnut’s Patterned Paper Challenge.

I had intended to join another also but when I got my card finished I realized I had put it together incorrectly for the challenge  — oh! well another day.

Don’t you just love this DSP?  When my stamping friend Linda  Richenberg said it was gorgeous, in my mind I disagreed, but after using it I have to agree with her, it is beautiful and makes for a beautiful card.

I used a Stampin’ Up! Whisper White card stock base with a Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy card stock mat for the Stampin’ Up! Feels Light Frost DSP.  Card cuts are at the end of this post.  The layers are adhered together using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

I used the “Hello” stamp from the Stampin’ Up! Good Morning Magnolia Stamp Set stamping it using Versa Mark ink and then heat embossing using Stampin’ Up! Whisper White Embossing Powder and my heat tool.  The silver diagonal square is cropped from a panel of Stampin’ Up! Silver Foil Sheets and embossed using the Stampin’ Up! Subtle Embossing Folder.  It is adhered to a Stampin’ Up! Night of Navy card stock mat and then popped on the card front after the banner is adhered in place.

The bird ( I won’t call it a cardinal since I colored it blue) from the Stampin’ Up! Toile Christmas Stamp Set is stamped in Tuxedo Memento Black ink on a Stampin’ Up! Whisper White card stock panel, then cropped using the Stampin’ Up! Christmas Cardinal Dies.  It is colored using Stampin’ Up! Stampin’ Blends Markers in Light and Dark Balmy Blue.  The beak is colored using the Stampin’ Up! Light Mango Melody Stampin’ Blends Marker.

A panel of the Feels Like Frost is adhered to a Whisper White panel and then trimmed using a strip of Night of Navy card stock.  The sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Free As A Bird Stamp Set is stamped in Night of Navy ink. The panels are adhered to the card base using Multipurpose Liquid Ink.  By using the Feels Like Frost panel for the sentiment you are able to see what the entire panel looks like and just how beautiful it is.

The Stampin’ Up! Whisper White envelope gets a panel of the Feels Like Snow DSP to the envelope flap.

Thank you for stopping by today.   I hope you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day.  My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself.

Stampin’ Up! Snow Front

Stampin’ Up! Snow Front

I can’t believe it is already Friday again!  Time flies when you are having fun!  Do you have a fun weekend planned now that the weather is definitely turning Fallish?

The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up Snow Front Stamp Set.  When you look at the front of the stamp set, you may think, ” Oh my” I do not think I can make a card from this stamp set, but it is a very versatile set with enormous potential.

My inspiration for design comes from the Global Design Project Challenge.

Isn’t that a pretty scene, the deers by the water for a drink.  I have seen that so many times in Cade’s Cove.  This is like a scene driving through the Cove.  If you have never visited, go sometimes you will love it.  Goggle Cades Cove.

The card base is Stampin’ Up! Merry Merlot card stock with a Stampin’ Up! Crumb Cake card stock mat that has been stamped in Crumb Cake ink using the Stampin’ Up! Birch Cling Stamp.

The art piece is stamped on Stampin’ Up! Whisper White card stock.  You can see the many colors used and find them below in the products used for creating this card.  The little flourish at the bottom of the art piece is from Stampin’ Up! Christmastime is Here Suite that will be available on November 1.

The inside sentiment is stamped in Merry Merlot ink using a sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Everything Is Rosy Product Medley.  I am happy we can use this stamp set again.  It was here for too short a time.

Trees and deer have been stamped across the bottom of the sentiment panel so it will not look so plain and blank.

The front of my Stampin’ Up! Whisper White envelope and the envelope flap are stamped with trees and deer using the Stampin’ Up! Snow Front stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by today.   I hope you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day.  My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself.

Stampin’ Up! Pretty Peacock

Stampin’ Up! Pretty Peacock

Happy Wednesday everyone, it is finally getting cooler here in Georgia.  I know you have been anxiously waiting for me to tell you that info!!

The card I am sharing with you today is created using the Stampin’ Up! Royal Peacock Stamp Set from the Stampin’ Up! Nobel Peacock Suite Bundle.

My inspiration for a challenge comes from Inspire. Create but I have changed the orientation of the layout design.  I have made it portrait instead of landscape

This turned out to be a beautiful card I think.  At the beginning I thought Oh! No! not again, one of those that I consider pure awful, but it turned out great.

The inside sentiment is from the Stampin’ Up! Royal Peacock Stamp Set and the greeting on the card front is from the same.

My Stampin’ Up! Whisper White envelope got a panel of the Perennial Essence DSP adhered to the flap.

Thank you for stopping by today.   I hope you will join me on my stamping journey as I share my cards with you each day.  My hope and wish are that you will be inspired to create amazing creations yourself.

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew October Blog Hop–“Giving Thanks”

Amy’s Inkin’ Krew October Blog Hop–“Giving Thanks”

Welcome!  It’s that time — what time is that you ask!  Time for Amy’s Inkin’ Krew Team Blog Hop. Our theme for October is “Giving Thanks”. It is on the second Tuesday of each month.  You can always find a group of talented ladies that make up a part of Amy’s Inkin’ Krew.  Be sure you check out each person’s blog, you will find much talent and inspiration.  You may even find that you would like to CAS(E) one of the cards.  Will let’s begin, I know you are wanting to see all the awesome cards.

The card I am sharing today is created using the Stampin’ Up! Colorful Seasons Stamp Set.  I have had this set for a good long time and have only used it once or twice.  While making this card, I realize this is a set that can be used for a variety of cards.  The card base is Stampin’ Up! Pretty Peacock card stock.  The Stampin’ Up! Whisper White card stock panel is embossed using the Stampin’ Up! Subtle Embossing Folder.  This being a blog hop I am listing my card challenges at the bottom of this section.

Before embossing the tree from the Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set was stamped in the center of the panel along with the greeting.  Here is where I made a goof.  I should have done the color wash and then stamped, but I stamped and then did the wash, so the ink on the trees and the greeting smeared and I thought I had destroyed the entire card and would have to start over as all the leaves had been popped on.

I found a remedy, don’t we always come up with something to cover a boo-boo?   I did my color wash on a thick piece of card stock, dried with the heat tool, then stamped my tree.  I fussy cut the piece and adhered it over the goof-up.  You can barely tell it is there as most of the edges fit under the leaves.  If I had not told you would have probably thought I meant to do the tree that way.

I’m ahead of the process though—I colored a panel of Whisper White thick card stock using different ink colors.  You can see from the picture, where I stamped each other on my glass mat and then spritzed each color as I put the card stock over it to absorb the color.  You can also tell by the color of the leaves and the envelope flap that I did not have enough on the first coloring so the second coloring is a bit different in color, even with using the same ink colors.

The leaves are popped on the Whisper White embossed panel using Stampin’ Up! Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.  The greeting is from Stampin’ Up! Itty Bitty Greetings Stamp Set.

The inside sentiment from the Stampin’ Up! Country Home Stamp Set is stamped in ‘Stampin’ Up! Pretty Peacock ink.  An image from the Stampin’ Up! Nature’s Beauty Stamp Set is stamped in the lower corner of the sentiment panel.

My Stampin’ Up! Whisper White envelope flap got a panel of the watercolor panel that I created.  A tree image was stamped in the right lower corner of the envelope front

Thank you for stopping by today.  I hope you liked my card.  You can now click on the Next button and it will take you to Akiko  Sudano’s blog or the Previous button and it will take you to Jaimie Babarczy’s blog or you can click on each name listed below and you will be taken to that person’s blog.  Enjoy the beautiful cards of these talented ladies.  Have a blessed day.

My challenges for today are with the Inkspiration Photo Challenge.  All the colors of the pebbles in the water reminds me of the many colors of  leaves in the Fall.

The Library Craft Challenge.  The book is The Secret Garden. The bare trees make me think of how dead everything in the garden was and how it flourished with love and care then the beauty returned, just as Autumn leaves are beautiful with their many colors in the Fall.
