Botanical Butterfly DSP and Humming Along

Botanical Butterfly DSP and Humming Along

Welcome!

Another easy card that beginning card makers will love. Making this card a beginner will know that they too can make beautiful cards as many say, “Oh I couldn’t ever make that”.  I am using parts of three different stamp sets; Postcard Pals from the Annual Catalog, Humming Along and Butterfly Gala from the upcoming 2019 Occasions Catalog available for ordering January 3, 2019. The Botanical Butterfly DSP  is  from the upcoming 2019  Sale-A-Brations catalog ( free with a $50 order) to create my card this week.

The sketch layout for this card is from Sunday Stamps.  It is a great layout.

The card base is Balmy Blue, cut 8-1/2″ x 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″.  A panel of Pear Pizzazz ( 5″ x 3-3/4″ is adhered to a panel of Basic Black card stock with Liquid Glue.  A  small panel from the Botanical Butterfly DSP (Sale-a-bration item available Jan 3) pack  is adhered to a panel of Basic Black card stock with Liquid Glue.  A length of Whisper White Twine is wrapped it and tied in a bow.  This is then popped on the Pear Pizzazz panel using Stamping Dimensionals.  The layered panel was adhered to the Balmy Blue card base using Liquid Glue.

The decorative mat for the butterfly is cut using the Beautiful  Layers Thinlits Dies on a scrap of Whisper White card stock.  The butterfly is fussy cut from one of the panels in the Botanical Butterfly DSP pack.  They are adhered to the black and white check panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals, Liquid Glue and Glue Dots.  Two Sequins from the Iridescent  Sequin Assortment is adhered to the right corner using a drop of Liquid Glue.

The inside sentiment is stamped using Memento Black ink on a panel of Whisper White card stock that has a Basic Black mat.  The butterfly images were stamped using Lemon Lime Twist and Balmy Blue ink.

You can see the supplies used for creating this card at the bottom of the post along with the card cuts.

Thank you for stopping by today.  My wish as always is that you find encouragement and inspiration for your own creations.

Pretty Kitty and Friends

Pretty Kitty and Friends

This is a tale of two, a Kitty and a Puppy.  They were playing and Kitty got into the knitting basket and became tangle up in the thread.  Puppy tried to help after Kitty pounched on him,  but all he could do was sit and look at her situation because the thread was tangled around him also. Kitty’s situation is much like life, we get ourselves all tangled up into something and have no idea how to get out of it.

Today’s card is from Stampin’ Up’s! Pretty Kitty and Bella and Friends stamp sets.  Inspiration and design comes from a combination of Fusion Stamps and Double “D” Challenges -Snuggle Up Buttercup.  Both seem similar enough to me that both challenges can be joined.

Both challenges have cable knit throws and red, so I chose to emboss at panel with the Cable Kit Embossing Folder and make a blanket for them to sit on out of a scrap from the Festive Farmhouse DSP.  I tore the DSP around the edges to give it a ragged blanket look.

Kitty was stamped then masked so Puppy could be stamped sitting beside her. They are then colored with watercolor pencils and popped on their blanket with Stampin Dimensionals.  An extra ball of yarn was stamped and colored with the Real Red watercolor pencils.  It was popped on the Mixed Real Red Satin Ribbon as is the “Life is Messy” greeting.Gold Metallic Thread is wound all through the art piece to give it the look of having thread tangled all over both Kitty and Puppy.

The inside sentiment is stamped on a panel of Whisper White using Memento Black Ink. It is adhered to the Real Red mat using Multipurpose Glue.

Thanks for stopping by today.  My wish as always is that you find inspiration and encouragement for your creative endeavors.

Thoughts of Encouragments

Thoughts of Encouragments

Welcome to my blog! I am so happy you stopped by today.  My wish is that you find encouragement and inspiration for your own card making.  Three cards from the same Designer Series Paper (DSP) pack, but all three are different. They turned out beautifully and were easy to make.  For the first card, I decided to play along with the Crazy 4 Challenges -C4C448

Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper

Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper

I cut a strip of Smokey Slate DSP 1-1/4 x 5-1/4 and adhered it to the Smokey Slate card base with Liquid Glue.  The art piece is from one of  the sheets of the DSP. I stamped the thinking of you in the center of the piece. I matted the art piece on a 3-1/4 x 3-1/4 square of Smokey Slate cardstock and popped the whole piece over the ribbon.

A few days earlier I had prepared pieces of cardstock using the shaving cream technique.  This technique is posted at the end of this post.  This is what I used to cut my butterflies. I adhered them to the corners of the art piece using a rolled up glue dot.

The inside sentiment panel has one corner enhanced with a corner of the square from the Petal Promenade DSP and a butterfly cut from the paper that I used the shaving cream technique on.  The sentiment and greeting are from Verve Stamps (no longer in business) but you can use a greeting and sentiment of your choice.

That’s all for the first card.

The second card  is in the landscape instead of portrait orientation.   Again, I started with Smokey Slate cardstock as the base. It was cut       5-1/2 x 11 and scored at 5-1/2.  I cut a panel of Blackberry Bliss 5-1/4 x 4.  To this panel, I adhered a panel from the Petal Promenade DSP that had been cut   2-1/2 x 5. To the other side of the panel of Blackberry Bliss I adhered a decorative panel that had been cut using Whisper White Thick Cardstock.  On this decorative panel I stamped the sentiment “You are never more than a thought away.”  You can always stamp any sentiment of your choice.   I wrapped a length of Smokey Slate 1/4″ ribbon around the Blackberry Bliss panel and tied a bow then I popped this Blackberry Bliss panel onto the Smokey Slate card base using Stampin Dimensionals.

The inside sentiment panel is matted with Blackberry Bliss. Again, I used a decorative panel to stamp the sentiment on.  The sentiment is from Power Poppy.

This is all for the second card.

The third and final card.  Hope I haven’t bored you too much with all my cards today!

I started with a card base of Thick Whisper Whisper White, cut 4-1/4 x 11, scored at 5-1/2.  I then cut a panel of Mossy Meadow cardstock 4 x 5-1/4 and embossed using the Layering Leaves TIEF.  I cut a panel from the Petal Promenade DSP 2-1/4 x 5. I adhered this to the Mossy Meadow panel.  Over this I glued the butterflies using Liquid Glue.  I placed the butterflies in the middle of the DSP panel and the Mossy Meadow panel.

Seems after two other cards, I have little to say about this one.  Guess it is like having children, by the third one there is little attention.

The outside greeting is from a now retired Stampin Up set.  As I have said before you can use any greeting or sentiment that you may choose.

Using a retired Stampin Up Edgelit I cut a panel from Whisper White cardstock and matted with Mossy Meadow cardstock.  The butterfly is from the Tea Room Memories and More Card Pack.

Well that is finally it for today and my three cards, again I will say, I hope  you found inspiration, hope and encouragement that you can use in your own card making or crafts.  I am happy to share what I create with you.

Have a blessed day.

  7. Let dry thoroughly. You can use as a background or cut butterflies or flowers from each piece of cardstock.

Beach For You

Beach For You

My sweet little card today could be a Birthday, Encouragement, even a Father’s Day card, all you  have to do is write your own Happy  Birthday,  Love You, Happy Father’s Day.  It is a young boy and his dad sitting on the beach looking out at the ocean.  How sweet!

I used Whisper White and Blueberry Bushel cardstock.  The stamp set is a 2003 Stampin Up set.  Do not know the name someone gave me a bunch of stamps in a box.

This is the inside of the card.

Inspirations for my card comes from CAS(E) This Sketch, Just Us Girls and Creative With Stamps.  You can click on their links by clicking on each Challenge or click on the icon at the bottom.

Courage

Courage

If this comes through twice, forgive me this one time any way.

I made this card special for my sister who is a breast cancer survivor.  You never think your youngest sister would get something so dreadful and it pass you by.  She is a special lady, always taking care of others first.  She took care of our mother for 20 years before Mother passed away last September.  She needs an award for just that.

My inspiration for today’s card is from the CAS(E) this sketch Challenge. You can check out all the cards just click on the link.

I started with a card base of Blushing Bride.  I cut a 5-1/4 x 4 Whisper White panel and embossed using a retired Polka Dot Embossing Folder.  I stamped the images using Memento Black Ink on a panel of  Whisper White and then colored using Blushing Bride and Melon Mambo and Pear Pizzazz Stampin Write Markers. After coloring, I popped all on the embossed Polka Dot panel. I then popped the Polka Dot panel onto the Blushing Bride card base.

The inside sentiment is also from the Ribbons of Courage stamp set.  If you would like more information about creating this card or any of the others on thus blog, please contact me and I will be happy to help.

That’s it for today!
